Thanks guys. I'll look very closely and try to compare the 2 models/manufacturers. Leaving hints with my wife, so hopefully I will see one soon.

Yep, as I've said before; chemotherapy is a double-edged sword. Most of the times it kill cancer cells. sometimes other tissues as well. Chemo drugs within the last 8-10 years have been accepted by our cocs as a cause for neuropathy. Mine, in 08/09, told me it couldn't happen. Next year the medical community decided the drugs were likely the cause of so many patients getting neuropathy issues. Mine started slow, and now are at a pretty high level. Gabapentin is a first stage joke. Doesn't help much. I was on 3600 mg per day and was ready to be bumped up until I asked for something different. Pregambolin/Lyrica was and as far as I know still the next level pain drug for the neuropathy symptoms. I've been on it for almost 3 years and it does help. Not a cure, but it does help. Tramadol is the next stage, according to my medical staff. LOL! Yeah, you guys in our situation will understand that line. I have taken some Tramadol, but not on a daily basis. It helps, but again, it's not a curative. Just masks the pain. Now about the CBD cremes...I use one produced locally for athritis in my hands. It works. That's all I can say. I have used it for knee pains as well, before and after knee replacements. Again, it worked there as well. Better than some of the custom pharmacy mixes and at a third the cost. I'm getting a stronger mix next time to try on the foot pains. Been using 1000 and 1600 mg mix for the arthritis. But going for the 2000 for my feet. DJTC45, I'm there with you on the foot pains. Slightly different though. Lack of sensation. Horrible balance. Can't easily walk on an uneven surface. The once satorial use cane is now a must. Provides a trpod balance for me. The pains are sharp. Searing, lightning bolts as I call them. In the heels and thru the ankles and insteps. Thankfully not constant, but frequency is increasing. Swelling and tenderness, can't seem to get a comfortable sock or shoe. Using the diabetic socks now. They help. Hard sole shoes work best for me. My beloved New Balance walkers and running shoes are for short term wear only. Like around the house. I find myself really missing walking. Always thought we'd start long walks and travel. Life sure does get interesting in the curves we get. Never thought that 3 years would make such a difference. Gone up almost 2 shoe sizes now. And the 4E width is a must. Anything less is torture from the get-go. Wish I could offer more insight to our problems fellows, but that's all I got. Prayers for us all.

I've been seeing the ads for Stikeman quite a bit lately. Anybody got one? Used one? Any comments or opinions will be welcomed. Thanks,

Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???
hipower replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
My 2 cents worth. He's gonna try and hang all the blame on the young lady armorer. Now with his director buddy backing up Baldwin's "I didn't pull the trigger" tale, it's almost a given! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! -
How about sharing a few Christmas/wintertime memes?
hipower replied to Tuffus's topic in General Chat
I'm "affectionally" known as THE GRINCH in parts of my family. I think my 2 light up Grinch ties, my full head grinch mask, the small collection of Grinch toys, and the 6 ft motion activate...singing Grinch from a few Christmas dinners really solidified my official standing. Plus...I too hate people in general. They are lazy, worthless, greddy, and uncaring automotons. As individuals, some are worth saving. Not many. But some. And most of them are on here! -
Well...that was quite a read. I won't pretend I understood all or even a portion of it. But there are things in this to really make you wonder just what is going on. And even if you don't believe a word of it...can you read it without getting a real bad feeling for our future? I couldn't. How much, if any, of this document is true? I guess that's up to you to decide. Personally, I see some scary truths in it. Sure maybe just a lot of coincidences and bovine scatology from any source you care to name. But just enough to give me pause. I need to talk this over with my medical resource staff...my wife that is. She has steadfastly declined any vaccines. Her choice. She could be correct in doing so.

Great! I haven't seen or heard this in decades! lol! Truth. Last time I saw it was with an old buddy in Cookeville. Can't remember the year. There may have been some brownies involved.

LOL! Yeah, I could have made it easier, but I was in a hurry and just threw out the model number. I bought it years ago. My late brother-in-law was working in a lgs and called me up one Saturday afternoon. Said he knew i like strange stuff, and that I should get there asap. Wouldn't tell me anything more than that it was a Smith 9. So I truck on down and he shows me this nice looking revolver. I was a bit disappointed, and asked where was the one he thought I'd want? He told me to look closer. I actually had to look at it for several minutes before I realized what it was. Laughing, I said I didn't know S&W did a wheelgun in 9mm. Short version is that I asked how much and took it home with me. Shot it a few times since, but not more than 50-100 rounds at most. Been offered a few lowball amounts from people, but not near high enough for me to part with it. Not really wanting to...but never know. Maybe sometime. I actually have another S&W he wants, but it's on my very short list of not selling. Got a Performance Center 945 Compact. Blued. It's a hoss!

Been looking for one of these. Sadly they come in 2 variations...very good and very high priced. Or...rusted out and a very high price.

As an old fat man who wears and NEEDS suspenders, I agree with you. I've been loitering on the site as well. I just have a fondness for leather holsters, and Galco has some reall good products. The one you bought is my choice as well.

I have a local dealer want to trade with me out an older Smith. He offered me a choice of either the FN or the HK you mention and pictured above. Of the 2, I would have to take the HK. I'm renowned for not have a good "trigger sense" but the difference on these was very noticable, even to me. The HK not only felt good in my hand, the trigger was similar to my Caniks. so that would rule out the FN for me. I own an older FN I got from a member in a trade, but it has a much better trigger, to me, than the new Ledge model. I did not trade on either of them though. I felt I was getting a very bad deal for my pistol on either.

Prayers from a poor sinner that you be healed.

Nice Pistol. Can't buy, but I do like it. And that background sure resembles my "office/hideout."
-
You do that too!?!? LOL!
-
Looks great, I think. Have you plans to do the forend like the rear? Yeah, I'm a nit-picker. lol It would truly look fantastic.
-
Would have to dig it out, but as I remember...no. Just super tight clearances, and the powder residue gums it quickly.

Yep your 2 cents vs my 2 cents. I disagree with you as well. A timed auction is an opportunity to bid within the stated time frame. If I wish to bid an amount for that item, I can do so. Bid high from the beginning if you think it will work. Or don't bid. We each have an equal opportunity to place a bid we think is appropriate on that item. The time of placement is the key. Early or late. But bid in good faith. If I bid and have a high bid at the stated end time...I should win. Adding 15 minutes after that end is not the way I play the game. As for sniping, the same thing applies. You or I have the opportunity to bid. High bids are shown, so bid higher if you want it. Waiting until the end to bid is not a crime. You, or I, can see the highest bid and decide whether or not to go further. I doubt you will agree, but's my 2 cents on the subject. And for what it's worth. I have been sniped in bidding. And I have been the sniper as well.

Well...being a ch...er...patient man myself. I agree with you. And if you beleive what I just typed...well I have some property to sell you on the desert riverbanks.
-
I do similar maintenance on it ever time it's shot. It seems to drag a bit at the back of the cyclinder more than anywhere else. But as long as I keep it clean...all is good.
-
Lost a few on GB as well. I really, really hate that dang 15 minute rule of theirs! I know it's to "give everybody a fair chance." Bull! Just to aid the site and get higher sale prices.
-
Yep, me too! Been a fan of the 22Magnum for a bunch of years. lol! Started buying the ammo more frequently when the PMR 30 came out. Another safe queen for the most part, but fun range gun. I'd like to use it on the crows around here, but neighbors and Metro PD might frown on it. Actually since my Dad showed up with a S&W one weekend. He'd gotten it in a trade at the local swap meet area in Algood(remember those days?) Said he just wanted to sell it to make a few bucks. When I expressed interest, he tried to give it to me. I had to refuse. It was during his battle with lung cance and he was scrounging every penny he could. I waited a week and called up. Told him my father-in-law wanted to buy. He set a price and I paid on the next trip up. I'm sure he knew what was going on, but both of us too stubborn for our own good. Rather nice pistol. A bit fussy about being kept clean though. Cyclinder tends to drag after about a dozen rounds. Sent it to Smith with not much positive result. Still does it. Probably one of the last I would ever sell.

This is a rather stupid observation, but from the picks, that bumper sure looks like a Ford F150. But I guess a couple hits like you gave it will change the looks of about anything. As with others. so glad you are safe and back. And a big God Bless for your adoptions. You are a good man.
-
Article reads like this will be a good buy. Had I waited one week, I'd be after this one! I just received the Barkeep and Magnum cyclinder I ordered for it, For what I have in it, the Barkeep seems like it will be good, but I sure would like the double action of the Diamonback instead.

So you thought the lines a little rehearsed as well? Not that I disagreed with anything that was said, but there was that slick, polished prhasing at times; then the aw shucks kid would come thru. But seemed to be a well done interview. I think it cemented his place in the story as a good kid who just had to protect himself in a bad situation. I actually don't know how he held off empting the mag in those three. Doubt that I would or could have stopped shooting until then. Very glad it's over...for now at least. However, I don't think there's a snowballs chance in hell the kid will ever live a quiet, normal life like he says he wants.
