  1. That's not at all bad! Thank you, sir.
  2. Good for you! Still in limbo around here, sadly.
  3. WOW!! That gorgeous!! If you were to do another...what would be the price I couldn't afford, if you don't mind my asking?
  4. Well my friend, when you get ready to sell that little thing...please remember this old fat man who has bought from you before!!
  5. Well said. I like that. But...it certainly feels better in my hands than a Block...er...Glock.
  6. Got to thinking about my own vitamin regime. I remember my oncologist telling me to do a daily Multi, a B complex, and D along with a Magnesium to combat fluid and mineral loss during my treatments. Now planning to add Zinc to it as well. I've been lax over the years in following that routine, but re-started a few months ago. As Grayfox54 suggests, it may not be a cure-all but it certainly can't do us any harm. At least I don't think so. This is one of the things I'm goin to discuss with my GP this week. Time for the regular checkup again. Seems like it's a fast moving cycle that never ends these days. Always something else going out of kilter. lol
  7. That's a good price. Almost as low as when first hit the States some years ago. I got in on it when I saw an ad on a distributor sale. Thought the 229 was worth a try. And it sure was. The Canik line has rapidly become a favorite of mine and recently a lot of others have gotten into them. When you can, try the SF and SFX variants. Great pistols.
  8. Jump onto your Infinity remote and say" Wayne, John Wayne" and I'm sure you'll get satisfaction.
  9. Agreed it's not likely, but sure crossed my mind.
  10. Sorry for your loss. And I understand your thoughts on the risk aspect of all this. So I won't make lite of them. I am as much neck deep in the "risk" group as you will find short of nursing homes. And even though I am pretty cynical as to this whole Covid episode, I don't recommend anyone do anything or take chances on something as much an unknown quantity as this is. As I've said before, our lives, mine and my wife's, really haven't changed much since this began. We weren't big on dining out, and I've always done the shopping and cooking since my medical retirement in 2010. I've gone where I wanted/needed as necessary. Shopped till I dropped from fat man's fatigue, that is. I've walked the street in our immediate neighborhood. Talked with neighbors and the large amount of walkers that are taking advantage of the much lower street traffic. In the last 4/5 months, only a few have refused to speak or stop. I don't invade the "social distance" and I don't hug nor shake hands. We don't get close to the children around us, and we wear masks where mandated. Otherwise, I would not wear them. They are hot, sticky, and stifiling. After a few minutes, I feel like I'm breathing thru a wet rag. But as long as I'm around someone who fears not wearing them, or where forced to; I'll continue to do so. And when asked, I will calmly explain my thoughts on the matter. So...Ronald...do as you feel best for you and yours. That's about all any of us can do at the moment. At least until Mayor John Cooper allows us another 30 minutes downtown to meet and knock back a few.
  11. Had to go back and look at the post, but I think you are right. could this be a still from a movie?
  12. You have newspapers?? Are you some kind of old fashioned hoarder?
  13. Never even use it. But that's just me. Whatever works best for you. Well, that may be a lie. I think I did use it a couple of times getting acquainted with the pistol. But not since that I can remember. I guess you got a really good deal on the SA model since it's like the first gen of the Canik larger frame poylmer guns. Not a thing wrong with them as far as I'm concerned. I have several and find myself leaving the PPQ in the safe when I go out shooting. Hope you get to like yours as much as I do mine.
  14. Started taking Vitamin D several months ago on the advice of a dermatologist. Haven't seen any real results for the condition I was initially asking about, but on the other hand...600I.U. daily isn't going to hurt. Especially when medical evidence seems to point to all these benefits.
  15. Guess it just shows how destructive my mind was/is. I thought that would make a great hand cannon with the pvc and maybe a ping pong ball as the projectile. Does this make you want to try it now? lol
  16. Really? I'll have to watch it again to see. Won't hurt my wife's feelings a bit. lol But not being knowledgeable on this fine weapon...what caliber is it supposed to shoot? And just to add an opinion, nope I wouldn't shoot it either. I shot a 45LC derringer once that sort of disintergrated in my hand. I was lucky. My hand was only numb for a few days. But it scared the crap out of me.
  17. Ever try to use your mix as a propellent in that pvc? Just wondering if it would work.
  18. All Gone. Thanks for looking guys.
  19. My pleasure buddy. Glad to see them be of use to someone.
  20. I have to comment here. I have several revolvers chambered in 9mm. I like them. But...I find them much "snappier" than a a small pistol. Maybe it's just me, but that's my perception anyway. I tried my wife with one, a Smith (647?) and a Glock 19. She did shoot the 19 well. Really hated the Smith. Said it hurt and that it was louder to her. Just my take on this. You and others may agree or not. JMO
  21. I bow in your general direction sir. lol No really I do admire the skill and determination it takes to start and finish such a project.
  22. I think we all use pistols and rifles these days...and a little Tannerite.
  23. Did I buy a ragtop Corvette from you way back in 1972? Nah. Couldn't be. Your work looks better than the one I saw. Or the remains anyway. lol To explain, this gentleman built a stunt plane in his basement. Took it out to Smyrna Field, took off and reached an altitude of 1500 feet. Or so he told me. Then a wing support snapped. He spiraled in and messed up a hip and left leg pretty bad. Couldn't drive the Vette anymore. A 427 with manual tranny. A beast! Damn I miss that car!
  24. No...but I liked to shoot shaving cream cans with a 22! That does sound fun though.
  25. And it Sold!?!?!?! Amazing what desperation and poor planning will cause.
