  1. Thanks all for the prayers. I will pass those along this morning. In my haste last night, I neglected to give his full name. It was Frank "Tad" Stratton. Always went by Tad. Not sure he did much, but was an infrequent visitor under the handle of 50beowolf for a time. I do know he had a lot of friends in the knife and military community several years ago, but again, not sure much was here. Mostly around Ft. Campbell and some of the "well know" custom knife makers. Again , our thanks.
  2. I really don't want to bring down the tone of this very important day. I'm a solitary and usually independent old cuss, but tonight I would ask for some prayers of support for my wife, Susan, and mother-in-law Bettie. And leave it to me to forget his love...Julie. I'm sorry. We lost my brother-in-law Tad this afternoon and I had to tell my wife she'd lost her brother, and then go and tell Bettie that her son was gone. I did it, and that's all I can say. If you can remember them in your prayers for the next few days; I would appreciate it. Thank you.
  3. Could double as a zombie killer as well.
  4. Agree on the Keltec 32. I had one and sold it during the "it ain't enough gun" period I went thru. I'm regretting it more and more. Never owned a Tomcat, but have the Beretta 81/84 from the CF sales. Nice guns, shoot well. Can be a bit "snappy" if having arthritis issues. Also have and have owned since late 90s, a Browning BDA. Great little pistol. But some of the most felt recoil of any small pistol I own. Perhaps it's just me. IDK. Doubt my comments really help, but just sending my own observations out. Good luck to you and your wife, sir, in finding the right handgun. Last thought, I appreciate the comments on "wadcutters" from everyone. I remember my Dad shooting them during his competition days, in fact, I may even have a few boxes he loaded back in the 60s. I sorta kept them as keepsakes. I think I'll look into the wadcutters again, especially the 147 grains. Thanks all for the ideas. Proof again that TGO is the best! Always recommendations and ideas for all ages.
  5. Fondly remember my days in sales and driving thru Brentwood and Downtown Franklin(better of the 2 imho). Sometimes hard to keep eyes on the road. lol
  6. Not sure I totally agree. Look around at some of the ladies in the land of nuts and more nuts. Jennifer Anniston is 50+, Jane Seymour, Linda Carter, etc. Granted those are West coasters and have great reasons to keep working on their looks, but there's some pretty good loking ladies around here too. They're just afraid to come outside now. Convid restrictions and all that you know. Soon they'll be strutting around for us to see. lol
  7. Yep. The opening date keeps being pushed back. First time I saw these vids on it, the date was early June. I do so hope this gets finished. Would at last be a range convenient to me. Just a hop onto Briley and then off at Elm Hill! Leave home and be firing in less than 10 minutes. I like that thought.
  8. LOL! I find myself feeling the same way! I have several of GT's knives and can't seem to stop! He keeps throwing things out in front of us! Things we just must have!
  9. I vaguely remember one deal on it. Believe I bought a Taurus there. Maybe. Been a while back. I think. I remember the seller telling me to call if I wasn't satisfied with our deal. I wasn't within a few hours. I called for days and never got a reply. Maybe a lot of others had better results.
  10. Yes, membership needed for it. I actually have one that I'd forgotten about.
  11. Almost makes it worth a road trip! But my knees won't take that drive anymore. About 30 minutes and I'm done. Have to get out and stretch. Makes for a very long trip. Anyway...Great thing you do!
  12. You sure don't like him...do you? lol I did that sort of thing with a friend. Not as radical though. I had a Smith 19 snubbie(still have it actually) we were shooting. The guy was a bit of smart###, so I reloaded for him. I had some target loads and a few hot loaded 357s I got from a guy that reloaded. Bill "The Rabbi" Bernstein. I think he tried to make them too hot for me. So I handed Mickey the 19. Three 38 target loads and 3 specials. He cursed me loudly afterwards. I think it stung just a bit. But I do wish I'd had a 44mag to do that with. I did buy Tracker 44 later, but he never came shooting with me again. Not because of this little trick, but because of politics. He was a Flaming Lib trying to convert me. Didn't work.
  13. Oh...you mean me? Thanks.
  14. Sadly, I think we've all done similar things. I know I have. Can't really even tell what the worst was. But I did walk away from a consecutive serial number set of Smith revolvers once. With my wife standing there telling me to buy them.
  15. Except that you can still vote Democrat. Even if you are dead and stupid! LOL A joke guys...don't shoot. Just too good a chance to pass up.
  16. I bought from Ammoman years ago, then their prices started inching upwards. Even before the current crisis, they were one of the higher priced bulk sellers. I don't think I ever bought from SGAmmo though. At least it doesn't come readily to memory.
  17. The way you keep talking these up...I might have to look for one. lol I seem to remember you mentioning a kit(?) with a longer barrel sometime back. Sounds interesting.
  18. Wow. 40 cents a round and looks like still rising. Sure glad I'm not hunting ammo right now!
  19. But...as you can see. We have many warped and sarcastic people here. Myself included. Welcome to the TGO funhouse.
  20. Childhood picture of the Joker out having fun with his gun.
  21. Thanks. That's good advice for us all.
  22. "Pin hookers?" I can guess, but not familiar with the term. could you spell it out for the uneducated (me) among us?
  23. Not sure if it was the same model you are asking about, but about 2 years ago, I got the chance to shoot a CZ Bren rifle with a Meopta on it. I found it to have very good clarity, and was spot on at 50 yards(longest I was able to shoot).
  24. Just thinking...you still have those flashlights I got a Costco for you? Many years back. lol I'm still using my 3 and wish I'd bought more, sadly I don't remember the specs on them. But for the price 3/30, they have been great for around the house. Good strong tight beam for about 50-60 yards.
  25. Me too. Get all emails and notifications without any issues.
