  1. EXCELLENT choice! My wife loves it! Of course it might have something to do with the fact the first time she heard it was when my college roomie came out of the shower in a towel and dancing around to it. lol
  2. Glad you got it! But let's hear more about the AR45 build. I've been really wanting one.
  3. Should I say how ridicilously easy it is to drill a hole in the safe to run a power cord? Yes. I use the silicone gun socks as well. I forgot those. lol I feel that they work very well.
  4. I have a small room I use in the garage. Heater for cold weather. I try for 50 degrees in the room. I have Golden Rod dehumidifiers in the safe. Also use the portable, rechargeable units as well. I shoot to keep humidity around 50% in the safes. During hot/humid weather' I run a box fan to keep air circulating and a room dehumidifier. Also have a vent for the attic with turbine fan above to help vent the heat. Just my methods where we live. It works for me.
  5. Thanks to Defender and Links2k for the information. Depending on the next few months, I'll see if I have the inclination or the need to fly anywhere.
  6. Would not have made that connection. I knew the face was familiar, just could not put a name there. Yes remember him from the old western movies. I guess it was that massive 'stashe that threw me off. The strange thing is that I did search the same place(I'm sure) you did, and I managed to miss his name in the cast listings. Old age incomprehension setting in. Thanks for the id.
  7. Just checked mine. Renewed it in '18, good until 2026. I too see the handwriting on my personal wall. $300 would be a very high probability of wasted money. Now a question. With all the choices, is my current ccp an "Enhanced"? Or What? And what's happened with the requirement/certification from Homeland to be able to fly? Is that still ongoing? I haven't heard it mentioned in a while.
  8. Well, the show is at the Leslie Town Center at 1W 1st Street. Near the Railroad Depot Museum. Don't really remember what that building might be like though. Been a long time since I was in that part of Cookeville.
  9. Further proof I'm on someone's ####list today. Got a notice it will be Sunday before I get mine. But just to tease me...I got the 18650 rechargeables today. Stinks!
  10. I think it's a Thompson as well. The actor...dang it. I remember him, but don't remember his name. Yes could look it up, but I'm too busy farting around tonight on TGO. OK, I failed to identify the actor with the Thompson. Just because it's gonna bug me now...can anyone else id him?
  11. Run! Run like the wind, brother! Don't give'em a second chance!
  12. Welcome to my world brother!
  13. Told my wife about it. First thing she asked was how much and where do we put it. I've trained her well!!!
  14. Yeah. I can see a tipsy, or totally drunk, individual lose it over this floor! Falling down, screaming, and trying claw their way back up to the lip. LOL! Or clinging to the wall trying to get to the pot and not fall in!
  15. Do you know the location? I grew up about 8 miles from there. But have never been to a show there. The Sparta shows seem to have good reputation from what I've heard. Wait, I see what you said now. lol I didn't get the thought. Buying might be a bit hard this close to the election. Or...It might get easier(except for ammo. I don't see that coming down for a long time.) Just depends on your perspective of the election and how it will be for us after it's over. Way I see it, if Trump continues in office; we should be ok, at least in the sort term. If Biden is the winner...I'd say the odds of us being happy with them are pretty low. Both seem to be strong anti-gun and have pledged, if not threatened to remove them from us. So as far as the Cookeville show, if you're close by and want some entertainment, go. Can't hurt.
  16. Had to jump on the bandwagon...so to speak. Like the look and capability of these. So got 2 and some batteries. Dangit! I forgot the rechargables. Anyway, Links...it did let me order 2 at once.
  17. Thanks for the offer...but we have a more than adequate supply usually. Small spring near the house with many places for them to live. But haven't seen many this summer/fall.
  18. Yes, Jeb48, I very much enjoy my daily check-in with your threads. I don't recall thanking you before for them, but I will enthusiastically say it now. THANK YOU! Knowledge and humor found here. And I much appreciate you for it.
  19. Generator comments are something I've pondered over for years. As beneficial as they are, It's like waving a flag and yelling come get me.
  20. My garage is the only available space for large bulk(y) storage. We have had a continuing battle with mice for years. The little suckers can get thru a pinhole I think. Thought about 5 gallon food storage cans, but wonder if they'd chew thru them. Metal cans and add a sealing wax? I'm pretty sure the tubs that online sellers like we see shipping in, would be questionable.
  21. I think that pretty well sums up the feelings on here. I bought from them once...Once. Think it was some P38 parts. Long ago.
  22. Ramen Noodles! Dang! I didn't think of that. Really. Will get some next trip. Been thinking about adding more beans, white and pinto, bagged. Not really sure how to store them. Locktite containers? Rubbermaid? And add a few more bags of rice.
  23. That does look pretty sharp! Is it just me...that scope looks...well different,
  24. Far be it from me to give advice. But just start. I have a few cases of TP, Paper Towels, baby wipes, and some cleaning supplies put back. I have some Clorox concentrate, but wish I'd bought several cases of the wipes when I could have. Food? Well, that's another issue. Enough in the freezer for a couple to 3 weeks, baring power outages. About that much in good canned goods...meats, beans, and some fruits. Really need more on all those. A few propane bottles for the grill. Need more of those as well. Don't have anything in the way of a camp stove or small heater. I believe that should be remedied asap. A couple cases of MRE's(wife hates them...lol) and a small amount of the survival bars...lifeboat rations they used to be called. I like them actually, but again...a nope for my wife. I think I'll get 1/2 cases more of them at least. Not a lot. My excuse was that living in a flood area, I didn't want to lose it all...again. My supplies were useless in 2010 and 2013 flooding here. And I really didn't like a storage location. If we had moved 5 years ago, things would have been different. I'd be a hoarder/survivalist like you would not believe! Alas, we didn't. Now lack of money and physical limitations make it a good bet that we will never move. I don't mind that, just wish we were on a higher elevation. You know, where you can get a good sightline on those slow climbers. Sadly, I believe we are better prepared than most of our neighbors. And that is REALLY sad and stupid. People just don't seem to think about where all that food in the grocery comes from...nor how fast it disappears. Nor how long it might be getting replaced. From my perspective, I say we'd be ok for 2/3 months, barring a major calamity of social, or weather related conditions. I should have taken those shop and Home Econ classes back in HS. Would be hopefully a bit better prepared.
  25. Well my friend, I offer condolences. Not much I can do to help here, previous replies have it covered pretty well. That's what you get for not staying stock!! LOL! Sorry I just had to get that in. I admire your ideas on changing things around, I'm just not talented enough to do much of it. Good luck with all this.
