  1. Agree with John on the lower. Unless you are getting ambi controls there isn't a lot of difference between the parts. I like the Aero M4E1 series as they have some upgrades that make assembly a bit easier with the addition of set screws rather than roll pins. Most impactful piece you will notice on the lower is the controls and the trigger, I would go cheap on the lower with an anderson or PSA Mil-Spec and spend the money on a nice radian safety and larue MBT trigger.
  2. those oceanevas are pretty affordable as well. Looking hard at the titanium options
  3. I've got a samson evolution 11" rail, been sitting in my parts pile for a while that I don't see myself ever using. $30 and I'll ship it to you.
  4. Bondhus makes the best allen/hex keys I have used by far. Used them daily in a maintenance/engineering setting years ago and still use them pretty often now at home. The ball end makes it a lot easier to drive in tight/angled spaces.
  5. what about a CZ 457 youth model? I got one for the kids that I eventually ended up putting an MDT chassis on and it is pretty lightweight and compact while also being a real tack driver.
  6. nice, 6 months would be a record for me!
  7. Others have answered the other questions and I would agree with the consensus here. One option for a test would be to get one of the optics plates that replace your rear sight. If you don't like the dot you can sell the whole setup and return to your current condition with no permanent modifications. I wouldn't use this for a carry option but for something just to test it out would be OK. It does take a bit of time/training to get used to but worth it in the long run. Another piece to consider is dots seemed to have helped me out with being cross eye dominant as I was always straining with irons.
  8. I've got a GAMO Wildcat Whisper that shoots pretty good, has taken many a squirrel and chipmunk in the backyard.
  9. **SOLD** Purchased this guy a while back and put maybe 50 rounds through it before putting it in the safe. Comes with two 7rd mags. $250 Would also potentially trade for 9mm/5.56 ammo or partial trade toward a ruger 10/22 takedown
  10. Cloud Defensive makes the rein. I have a handful of cloud lights and have been very happy with all of them, so much so that I purchased a few of their handheld lights as well. That being said you can't go wrong with a proven surefire either. Overall the clouds I think have better performance and since they come with the switch they can be cheaper, although the surefire has the history. If you want IR capability the Surefire Vampire lights are out there, the CD offerings don't have IR capability today. I wouldn't hesitate to utilize either brand and be very confident in my light.
  11. what are you putting it on and what is going to be that gun's main use? I would look into either the holosun EPS series or Aimpoint Acro, try out the enclosed emitter game and see if you like it. If you are using it for just range stuff I would look into the 507Comp or Trijicon SRO
  12. I think it is an improvement, I would NOT say it turn the gun into a recoil-less wonder pistol but it is an improvement. PMM's marketing material shows 20-30% improvement which seems lofty
  13. Get the best of both worlds and get a 365XL and a parker mountain machine comp/barrel and slap a regular 365 grip module on there. Get the benefit of velocity and the comp while also getting the concealability of the smaller grip length. Throw in some 15/17rd mags and you get "full size" gun for a duty/training class rig that is very similar to your EDC gun.
  14. you guys are all sleeping on Wild Turkey 101.
  15. They are making use of the size by mitigating recoil with the comp, trading the velocity of the barrel length for the quicker follow up with the comp. No idea if the comp integrated in the slide is as effective as a barrel mounted comp, but that is the intent I guess.
  16. agree with the Chief here, buy ammo and spend time training rather than getting another pistol. OR if you don't have a CCW piece would mirror the suggestion on the P365 series.
  17. zero the dot without the magnifier then slap the magnifier in and make sure you're still good. I have done it a handful of times and I have never had any sort of adjustment required after testing with the magnifier.
  18. so similar concept. our church is currently meeting in the elementary school gym on Sunday, it is my understanding I cannot carry there as it is still a school. Later this year we will be transitioning to our new church which will also have a private school on site, I was hoping that since it will be a private school I would be able to carry to church on Sunday but reading this makes me think otherwise?
