  1. Ouch.
  2. So I'm guessing the pic in the OP happens when the arrow breaks at the moment of release and the bow drives the arrow stub into the support hand?
  3. April 24th, 2015.    https://www.nraila.org/articles/20150424/tennessee-park-carry-legislation-signed-into-law   Humongous thread here:  http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/86472-hb-0995sb-1171-parks/page-21
  4. I'd get one that plugs in.  I don't use mine a lot, but I've never had an instance where cordless would have been better.
  5. Don't all Dickson County schools have an American Flag flying on a flagpole in front of the school (and a TN state flag)?  Just like every other school I've seen?  Do they not recite the Pledge of Allegiance every morning?
  6.     I interpret the above as "within 100 yds or without the owner's permission"  Given that the OP is the owner, I'd guess it's ok.  :)   A friend's Dad used to deer hunt from the kitchen table (during deer season).  They had a big field behind their house that always had deer in it.  When his wife would go to the grocery store on saturday mornings, he'd open the back door, set his rifle up on a bipod on the table, and if a deer wandered across while he was eating breakfast... BOOOM!   :)   My friend said he'd put the rifle away before she got back, but she could always smell the powder when she got home and would read him the riot act.  He'd just smile and say "yes dear".
  7. From what I'm reading, hunting either at night or over bait is a no-no.   http://www.state.tn.us/twra/huntweapons.html
  8.     The economy clearly isn't great.  It's better than it was 5 years ago but not 80% better, which is what the DOW has done.  So if it drops a whopping 30%, its still 50% higher than it was 5 years ago, which is about normal annual growth.
  9. Holy crap!  How did that happen?

    Dad Gift

Nice!  The sock won't hurt it at all.  All of mine are in socks to help prevent idiot marks.
  11. I'd just make sure the firing pin is loose.  If not and the pin isn't coming out easily, heat the bolt up to 150-180 deg and soak it in solvent.  I've never taken mine apart.  All I do is shoot some aerosol solvent in there and blast it with compressed air.
  12. My kids do that too. I think it's because the middle finger is both stronger and longer so it's easier to reach the trigger. In fact, here's evidence my little one uses 2 fingers... :D This was his first time shooting a real rifle.
  13. While eating my cereal at 6am this morning (3 hours before the market even opens), the headline read something to the effect of "investors brace for market plunge... DOW expected to fall 300 points."     :panic:       300 points is less than 2%.  Would most people even notice if the cost of a gallon of milk dropped $0.06?   And this after it's gone up about 80% in the last 5 years.   :drama:      Self-fulfilling prophesy?
  14. *ahem* Transparent aluminum. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LkqiDu1BQXY
  15. Though I recalled reading that somewhere, but perhaps not. Sucks getting old...
  16. I completely lost interest after the fallout from Earnhardt Sr's death. The "sport" had clearly been moving in the direction of being more about "the show" than actual racing, and that was the last straw for me. I used to live near Bristol and went to one race maybe 10 years ago. Most awful race track experience of my life. Exceedingly boring race, drunks screaming profanities at drivers who can't see or hear them, rednecks spilling beer on my wife, most people only getting excited when there was a wreck, and don't get me started on the traffic.... I just don't see the draw. We learned to leave town on race weekends.
  17. No kidding. If the stock market sagging a bit over the course of a week or so is a sign of the apocalypse, we should all be pretty good at dealing with that sort of calamity by now.
  18. As you adapt to the new norm, your hand will get much stronger than you think. Like anything else, it'll take time and practice.
  19. I thought there was open season on feral cats? Aren't they considered a nuisance animal, much like coyotes?
  20. Bushy shrubs can generally be done any time, though late winter right before they start growing again may be best. Otherwise, I prune most all my trees and bushes in late fall to early winter.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Wow. That's really nice!
  23. Cool video and good illustration of the differences. A good follow-up might be showing your friends' improvement in both speed and accuracy with improved trigger control. And I'll be completely honest, in all the prior videos I've watched, I never noticed you were missing an arm.
  24.     WD-40's best use is as a solvent.  I use it to clean the chain on my motorcycle.  Spray it down and let it soak for a minute, then wipe until it's clean.  Takes less than 10 minutes and I've never had my chain get rusty.
  25. Ok, maybe it's a SBR. It's a tax stamp regardless.
