  1. Not that unusual, but a sign of a worn out oil pump. Not too hard to replace, if I recall.
  2.     That was my guess too.  What I took was that he was blind, but was gifted sight for the purpose of his journey.  When the journey was complete, the gift was rescinded.  It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I seem to recall the final scene of him laying there reciting the Bible for the scribe while his eyes slowly clouded back over.
  3. Book of Eli, The Matrix, Red Dawn, Mad Max (the original, haven't seen new one), Reign of Fire, Empire of the Sun (with a very young Christian Bale).    The Road looks interesting, I'll have to add that to the Netflix list.         Forgive my ignorance, but what are you referring to here?
  4. Yep, engine oil doesn't expand that much when warmed up.    Stick your finger in the tail pipe.  :stunned:     If there's oily residue, it has a problem.
  5. I was at work.  I heard someone say a plane crashed into the building and I figured it was something like a little Cessna.  Then someone said no, it was an airliner, which I thought was nonsense until the 2nd one hit.  The company's internet connection was heavily filtered and basically shut down due to all the traffic. We had one separate, unfiltered connection for visiting vendors and there were about 20 of us huddled around this guy's laptop watching coverage on CNN until that finally quit too.    My wife was home and her Grandparents, who happened to be out riding around, stopped by, oblivious to what was happening.  They wondered why there was no traffic on the roads.  They stayed the rest of the day.
  6. I paid just under $400 to move a thinly furnished 2 bedroom apartment across town 8 years ago, and I think I got quite a deal.  The rest of our stuff from our 3 bedroom house had been in storage for months during the transition.    Get a POD or rent a storage unit.  Start moving all the little stuff you can live without for 2 months into storage.  You'll be functionally camping in your house for the last week or so before the official move, but it'll be worth it.  Then the movers only have to mess with the bulky/heavy stuff that you can't handle on your own.    Board the critters for a couple days or even a week.  It'll be worth it to not have them under foot during the chaos.   I don't know how big your aquarium is, but I'd try to find a friend to board the fish with for a couple weeks.  Yes, that means moving the whole aquarium twice (which is a pain, I have one too), but again, it's one less thing to mess with through the transition.
  7. Sable could be as simple as a stuck thermostat.  Google says its cheap and easy to replace... http://www.ehow.com/how_5770666_install-mercury-sable-thermostat.html   I seem to recall Voyagers having fuel injector issues.  Again, not that hard to fix but probably more than you want to tackle.
  8. My wife has a Shield and we both really like it.  It's a bit big to be considered a "micro" to me, but its also the softest shooting small 9mm I've ever shot.   The manual safety is quite small and would be difficult to disengage under duress.  After a bit of time, I've convinced my wife to carry it with the manual safety off (it still has the trigger safety).  She's also slowly migrated to belt carry from purse carry.
  9.     Yep.  Glass cockpits appear to be "the thing" now, even portable ones.  :)    When I went on my Stearman ride a few years ago, the pilot/owner said all he typically used for cross country stuff was a road map.  It's not a plane you fly in bad weather, and it's low and slow enough to read signs on the interstate.
  10. Welcome!   Bit of a drive for you, but Chilhowee Sportsmans's club has sporting clays... http://www.chilhoweesportsmansclub.com/   Gatlinburg Sportsmans club has skeet & trap, I'm not sure about sporting clays...  http://www.gatlinburgsportsman.com/   http://tnsportingclays.com/
  11. Man, that sucks. Hope someone local can help. Are you at all mechanically inclined?
  12. All the surplus ammo I'm aware of is corrosive, Wolf is the cheapest non corrosive. Use a much wetter oil patch next time.
  13. That fighter looks like a beast!  Nice work.
  14. You might be amazed by how many pilots navigate with little more than a Rand McNally
  15. True, but mostly I was wearing my conspiracy hat and thinking that he got such a dramatically reduced sentence because perhaps some folks were involved who might not like it to be known that they were.
  16. Glad you're still with us. Sounds like you've had quite a week.
  17. Makes you wonder who he sold the guns to....?
  18. That would be Alemites. I used to work there. Many years ago, some in the company wanted to trademark the name, but got over-ruled. How'd that work out? :D
  19. I had one of those! Had about every arcade game that ever existed for it.
  20. It'll come out with a screw extractor. Just go slow.
  21.     Motherboard not fried thankfully.  After disconnecting nearly everything, leaving it for a week, and putting it back together, he was able to get it to boot off a disk and get Win7 loaded.
  22. Definiately an asset...  Companion, security system, food source...
  23.     Shoot them (squirrels) and they (vultures) will come.
