  1. If you think its a flaw in the finish, get some fine sandpaper and polish it a bit. If it goes away, great. If not, it's a crack.
  2. Time for a little civil disobedience.
  3. Nope. How long before it snaps off completely depends on the extent of the crack, and you'll have to take it apart to determine that. It could likely be fixed with the right kind of epoxy and/or some fiberglass.
  4. If that's supposed to be a carbon fiber reinforced polymer, they're in desperate need of some process development to get the fibers located in the right places and oriented in the right direction. That said, I really don't understand the obsession with reducing the weight of a rifle that isn't heavy to begin with and is generally only carried from the truck to the firing line and back. The compromises don't seem worthwhile.
  5. True, but they had truck loads of cash before the TV show.
  6. Me too. Typical spot for it to crack.
  7. Further proof that Hollywood is out of original ideas.
  8. And yet more proof that most criminals are cowards.
  9. Good news!
  10. Always wear eye protection when running outdoor power equipment. I've also nearly gotten impaled while mowing. Glad you're mostly ok.
  11. If you're going to check it, make sure all the straps and loose ends are tied up. All the loops and such are likely to get hung up in the baggage system.

    Jerkey

Flea market jerky? Um, no. I like jerky but sometimes it doesn't like me. The store bought stuff is way too expensive and usually way too salty for me. A few coworkers make really good jerky. I'd like to get a dehydrator and make my own.
  13. Kewl! I've always wanted a deuce-and-a-half.
  14. Peanut m&m's, snickers, baby Ruth, ice cream,....
  15. Dogs dig because theyre bored and want attention. They need exercise, go for a walk. Running an electric fence wire just above ground level can get their attention pretty quick.
  16. Not that one..... This one... :)
  17.     I agree completely but you really think you'd have the time, much less the presence of mind, to put in earplugs?
  18. I'll agree and disagree with broom... What's the subject? You could better define that by going larger with the aperture for a shallower depth of field.
  19. My assumption is that if they had guns, they would have already been waving them around. Maybe that's a bad assumption as you know what happens when we assume things....
  20. Nice pics. The 2nd one could be a touch brighter, as the writing on the buckel is hard to see. But I am viewing on my phone... As for platform, I use the basic version of smugmug for archiving and sharing. I know they have nice commercial packages that allow people to buy prints and such. The prints I've gotten from them are good. If you want to try them out, PM me and I'll send you a referral discount code.
  21. Come to think of it, Panther Creek near Morristown has some nice, easy hiking trails.  Might be pretty around the lake.
  22. You're correct, BSF is closed too....  :-\   Have a look here:  http://hikingthecarolinas.com/hikes.php
  23. Yes, the weapons were sewing needles.  So far, no charges filed.    http://www.wate.com/story/23554212/students-go-to-hospital-after-classmates-stick-them-with-thumbtacks
  24. As has been alluded to in the other thread.... I feel sure if a couple shots had been fired, the gang would've scattered like roaches when the light comes on.  Unless you're in a war zone where gun shots are normal and people are used to being shot at, I don't think a 100 rd drum would be necessary.    That said, I'm also going to re-think what and how I carry in the car.
  25.     Pulling my fingernails out with pliers.  Betta than sports talk radio!
