  1.      If IEDs start going off on roadsides in the CUS, everything will likely get ugly very fast.  We can not and should not stand for that.  At that point, we have become diverse in the wrong way.  Being "adversly diverse" is what has made the bosnia/croatia, etc.. a hotbed of war and conflict for eons.       If moderate followers of Islam exist, now is the time for them to clean this up, take care of their own house, and make this go away.  That will show... more than just self-preservative talk, that they are Americans and care about Americans.  That would be good enough for me.       You hate for it to be that way, but if this is going to be stopped, they have to reign in their own.  As messy as that is, it is much less messy than the alternative.

  3. :)  - I read in the notes that he said she was still working on footwork.  That was the second thing I noticed.   -the first was her coming dangerously close to (or actually) sweeping his right leg/knee with the muzzle s she came around on target.  .... -hope she has good trigger-finger control.   that said.  wow.

  5. whooo... I love foxes.  ... unless they were overpopulated or being a pest/danger to farm animals, I always leave them be.   -thrilled to be ears and hear everyone's take on it.
  6. I won't lie.  I wept.  The thought that society at large can conceptualize something other than being passive is very hopeful to me.     Apparently this video opened my eyes to the fact that I am afraid that my children will grow up in a soceity that bullies them into being totally passive about all things.     Show this video to your (age appropriate) family and friends.  You never know what discussion it might stir.   http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/12/10/for-the-record-fighting-back/
  7. http://valdostatoday.com/2015/12/afghan-pilots-training-at-moody-missing/     Probably just a normal awol, ... but it is worth noting.   -also worth noting that no national news outlets are reporting this.  :)
  8. -saw that...  also felt a little dirty when I found out they had been "dry firing in the back yard".   I don't want to know about that.   :pleased:
  9.   transcript from the photo-shoot:   "Ok ok, that's great, .. now,... clench both fists lightly."   "Perfect!"   "That's a wrap, folks.  Great job, everybody!"
  10. Ha!  What's weird is someone opening their mouth to a news agency.  Usually "things" like this are not stated in public.
  11. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/12/06/san-bernardino-gunman-obsessed-with-israel-isis-dad-says/?intcmp=hpbt1   “My son said that he shared [ISIS leader Abu Bakr] Al Baghdadi’s ideology and supported the creation of the Islamic State,” said Farook's dad, also named Syed Farook, who lives in Corona, Calif., with another son who is a Navy veteran. “He was also obsessed with Israel.” “I told him he had to stay calm and be patient because in two years Israel will not exist anymore,” the elder Farook told La Stampa in an article published Sunday. The foreign language daily’s report was translated in part by The Times of Israel. “Geopolitics is changing: Russia, China and America don’t want Jews there anymore. They are going to bring the Jews back to Ukraine. What is the point of fighting? We have already done it and we lost. Israel is not to be fought with weapons, but with politics. But he did not listen to me, he was obsessed,” the father said in the interview, according to The Times of Israel.   -unless The Times of Israel has misquoted and embellished his words (no way of knowing), this is some weird stuff.
  12. yup.  for me it was the "right off the bat" factor that troubles me.
  13. I watched just a bit of it the other night... but it was on mute because the wife was asleep.   from what I could see, I would say, "ouch".     It had already fallen off of the potential list because it is no smaller than a G19 or G23, but this will keep it off the list.
  14.      If you need some pointers, "The A-Team" shows can help you.  There's a different plot to medicate B.A. every time they fly.
  15. I grew up playing football, played right up until my senior year of high school.   I think it is a great game, a great opportunity for grit and character development.     I really struggle these days watching young guys get collarbones broken, knees blown out, and professionals with OBVIOUS concussion signs staying in the game.   -Thursday I watched Romo re-break his collarbone.  Just now, I saw a Michigan player get his shoulder or collarbone crunched.     Way back when... I played with a guy who was knocked out in a football game once.  - This was years before we cared about that kind of thing.  ... this guy stayed in the game even though he couldn't remember what the play was or what the snap count was from huddle to line.  - A couple of the guys were concerned, but coaching staff and most folks thought nothing of it at the time.     Am I just getting old?  I love the game, though I get ill watching people incur injuries that will be with them forever.
  16. I "scored" Software Plug-ins for work stuff @ 50% off and some online gifts for the kids @ about $50 off.   I resisted sales at PSA, LWRCI & the Vortex 4-16FFP EBR1 @ 499!!! crazy... I know what I need is the 6-24 w/ the EBR-2 reticle.  - still it hurt to pass over that $499 price tag!!
  17. [emoji15]. video of it is now up on facebook
  18. -just saw this on facebook.  If confirmed, it will be the 2nd sighting I am aware of this year.  The TWRA will have to change their tune.   :pleased:
  19. Had one walking the ridge behind us this morning about 7:30 in West TN.  We were not setup for a shot in that direction.  Nephew saw a doe walking another field about the same time.   No takers today....   -with a full moon (?) last night and a windy, bright sunny morning, I didn't expect to see anything.
  20. ^^ Didn't think you were.  I don't have a defensible answer for what I might range that far!
  21. ^^ Anything I can?     Seriously,  since this is a brand new piece of kit from a brand new division of Sig..... with great "specs" for the price, I thought I would be the guinea pig for us all and try it out.   Since I have been in the market for a range finder for a while, I was going to spend any money on a range finder, it was going to be one that I could range up to and beyond 1,00yds.  (to date, my farthest long distance hit on target was 900yds)    This range finder... for what it does and the price at which it was offered, was something I just didn't want to pass up.  - ranged a tree this evening at 928yds.     I also have a Vortex 8x R/T monocular with a range finding reticle.  Now I can double check my range estimates as I work on that skill.   I also like taking dope on my gun and am usually not at a "standard" range, so I have to set up my own targets.  This lets make made dope at non-standard distances.  etc, etc, etc...     Review so far:  1) It struggles (as I guess all laser range finders do) at ranging any flat object that is ~30deg or more out of square to the range finder. 2) The "Auto" brightness feature doesn't work too well. 3) the brightest light on a white target in afternoon sun doesn't show up.  They need to put a green reticle option in the next version.
  22. naah... not "conventional" WW3...  nobody has time for that now.     gen5 conflict - with non-nationalist cells and lone warriors - attacking and dying on behalf of an ideal as opposed to a nation-state.   that is the war that everyone is fighting.
  23. http://www.sigoptics.com/rangefinders-overview/   I picked it up a Royal Range.  FYI: They have great prices on most of their inventory.   It bosts the ability to range reflective targets to 3,400yds! - trees to 1,500yds, and deer to 1,200yds.   - we'll see.     In the 5min I had to play with it, it was fantastic.    Price was $415      PS: I also got a first look through Sig's "Whiskey" hunting optic.   super-duper glass!e
  24. So... ISIS blows up a Russion Jet, Attacks Paris, and threatens to blow up the White House.   Putin gets serious about ISIS and the rest of the world gets a semi-reluctant woody for Putin.  "Hey, maybe he'll teach our Pres. a thing or two."   Then... Turkey shoots down a Russian jet with F-16s.   Russia sends a rescue helicopter, and then Syrian Rebels blow that up.   -then the Rebels make it a point to say: "Hey Russia!,.... we got that Missle from Unlce Sam!!   naaa naaa neh boo boo!"     umph.
