  1. Sandra Fluke, Rachel Madcow, The Chick in this video... They all look like boys...
  2. The Obama Admin has also told Texas they are not allowed to arrest the "observers" even if they break their state election laws!!
  3. Interesting read on what "The One" may do if he loses this election... http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/10/its_not_over.html
  4. That same video showed up in my suggestions on YouTube last night...
  5. Mmmmm....somebody's gettin' wet.
  6. I kinda wish I had bought one of those uppers. If I had known "I didn't build it" I would have...Oh well... hindsight.... I do have that MIAD lower kit...It's nice and reasonably priced. If it showed in stock I always got everything I ordered...But my last order was placed on a Thursday and it was the following Friday before it shipped....But it doesn't matter.."Somebody else made that happen..."
  7. Then this sale is for you!!! http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/you-didn-t-build-that-lower-parts-kit-sale.html Just remember...You didn't build it...
  8. If you're looking for some mags there are some decent buys here. There are a couple of good deals on AR mags. Basically getting a free ammo can with your mags. Shipping to my locale would be $11. Only downfall is the super-sloth shipping. PSA is painfully slow. http://palmettostate...o-mags/id/2738/ BTW there are AK and glock and all kinds of stuff.
  9. Here are a couple of videos that show how to make your own tumbler and powder trickler.
  10. Here is a link to a good thread on here about the subject. Here is a link to what I am thinking of getting for my first set up. Don't let the list price scare you. You can find that for less than $300 all day long. http://www.hornady.com/store/Lock-N-Load-Classic-Kit/
  11. That is the bad part about PSA. I ordered my lpk from them a week ago today. It is still "processing."
  12. http://palmettostate...-build-kit.html This lpk has a Magpul MOE grip and trigger guard. It also has the ACS-L stock. It is everything. Pretty good deal, too. The magpul stuff alone would cost $130 individually. The whole kit is only $150. I'd say what ever you do you may want to think about moving quick. Presidential debates start tonight and we all know what happens to prices and availability as as we approach elections.

    AR build

Man I hope so. I think the finish is pretty good. P-mags fit the mag well perfectly and fall right out when I let go. That's a good sign. But we'll see when the lpk gets here.
  14. Would the lee breech lock system work as well as the hornady lock and load?

    AR build

Thanks for the replies. Now that I'm into it I realize I probably spent a few dollars I didn't have to. I know I will probably never shoot enough for the trigger and hammer pins to rotate enough to waller out the holes. To be honest, when I finally decided to go for it and the build became reality I got a little caught up in "the buzz." The Yankee Hill take down pins I wanted just for a little ease of service. I was looking to get a vice for my shed anyway so I don't really consider that an extra expense. I already have a torque wrench. I bought a cheap set of roll pin punches an armorer's wrench, and some decent vice bocks. And if this works out I will be looking to possibly build an upper for long range/accuracy so I can go prairie shootin with my friend who asks me to go every year and I'll have the tools. It will cost me a little more this way. But I am a hands on guy and it just wouldn't be the same to buy one. I just enjoy doing and tinkering with my hands and I get a lot of satisfaction out of doing things myself. As for the receivers. I read up on Aero Precision and they have a great reputation. I could not find anything bad about them. But the Roggio...I had already bought it. The receiver extension threads were not cut deep enough. Luckily my father in law is a machinist and mad me a tap so that was fairly easily fixed. Luckily again it was tapped straight. I think it's good now but we will see if my lpk ever gets here. Thanks guys and if there's anything else you see I should be concerned with please let me know. I will take all the info I can get.

    AR build

I am working on an ar build. First I would like to say thanks to everyone that has answered my questions and helped me out. I'm sure I will have more before this build is over with. You guys have been great. That said...What would you say to a rifle built to these specs? Purchased: Roggio Arsenal lower Aero Precision upper Palmetto State Armory barrel 1:7 twist chrome bore & chamber 16" midlength Palmetto State upper build kis (delta ring, barrel nut, dust cover, forward aassist) Palmetto State lower build kit Magoul MIAD pisrol grip (included in lower build kit) Magpul MOE stock Magpul MOE handguard BCM Gunfighter charging handle A2 flash hider Yanke Hill Machine EZ Pull take down pins KNS Precision Gen 2 non-rotating trigger/hammer pins Tapco IntrafuseMil-Spec buffer tube kit includes: buffer tube, carbine buffer, spring, castle nut and end plate w/ sling attachment Yet to purchase: Rear sight - probably carry handle CMMG clamp on A2 front sight Bolt carrier group....full auto... BCM, WMD, Daniel Defense,Noveske, or LMT As far as the TAPCO stuff goes, I will probably buy an H-buffer anyway since the one I have is a carbine. Other than that I'M EXCITED AS HECK!!! Almost have everything and can get started building! Could someone suggest a carry handle? FSB will be F height.
  17. Somehow found this when searching for sights... Still cool though. Shows the workings af an AR. You can make just about any part of the weapon transparent, split, or just hidden to see what is going on in or behind it. I could see this being a good teaching tool. Check it out. http://www.bushmaster.com/anatomy_bushmaster.asp
  18. I had a 795 once, too. It was awesome as well. Marlins just go. After a few thousand rounds without cleaning they will jam with low power loads. Ask me how I know. Not knocking the 10/22 but marlins were king until the Rugers came out. Personally I don't see ruger is any better.
  19. This. But Bakers Creek doesn't have potatoes. But Yukon Gold are heirloom and darn tasty. You can find them lots of places. http://rareseeds.com/
  20. I have seen those gargantuous European hornets do that around my porchlight. Not cool.
  21. 6.8...Thanks. I hope so, too. And I know I don't have to do anything. But I usually am asking a question so I like to show some appreciation when someone tries to help me out. I think this is a great feature TGO David. I hope it's around for a while.
  22. How long has that been there? I swear it wasn't there 2 days ago but I could be crazy. I am having a brain scan today after all. Any way..I really like it. I always feel like I have to reply to everybody that replies to one of my posts. They took the time to reply I feel like I should acknowledge. This way I can do that without being all night typing. nice feature.
  23. I'm a plumber sooo.....You might appreciate it more if I didn't post a picture.
  24. I tell you what. Being the nice guy that I am, I'll come and take that one off your hands to help you make room for more projects. I won't even charge you for my services.
  25. Thanks to everyone. I feel better. Best not to risk having my barrel ruined. This is why this is the only forum on the internet, no matter the topic, I still subscribe to and participate in. Dolomite, no reason other than security. I will probably go with a set screw style. I just couldn't get a straight answer (until now) on whether the set screw would hold up. I have been looking at this one. http://www.cmmginc.c...t_p/55da3b9.htm Do you think it is necessary to to have those flats cut?
