You may have heard of this little test; lock your wife and your dog in the trunk. In an hour open the trunk and see which one is glad to see you. :D

First thing to come to my mind when I read the article, before I read any of the comments, "she must be ugly". :D

Kerosene......where can I find it near Nolensville??.?.
Gun Smith replied to Mongo's topic in General Chat
Used to be, most Amoco stations had it. Co-ops usually do. -
I've done similar and I'd do it again. If it ever goes south I guess I'll just have to take my licks. Once I was told they had to wait until the driver was back out on the road because the driver was on private property. Troopers were waiting and pounced once the driver pulled onto the road.

He's great! Funny thing is, my 17 year old son is the one who introduced me to him.

Trained my wife to cut mine and my son's about 4 years ago with electric clippers. Not only do we save $15 each every two to three weeks, we don't have to waste time sitting in a shop waiting our turn, and I get to kiss the barber.

Overhead this (racist?) conversation ...
Gun Smith replied to npgunner's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I (white) just recently fired a white guy who was every bit a moocher as Guy 1. He had entered the Navy straight out of high school and learned the government way. After 9 years in the Navy, according to him, he was involuntarily separated. My guess is he was such a bum they took the opportunity to get rid of him using the draw down as an excuse. -
I had a woman drive out to my house one evening to buy a custom child'd bed I had built for my son. When he outgrew it, I posted it on CL. I'm kinda out in the country and my house is 300' off the road. Not only did she come by herself in the dark, she was counting out hundred dollar bills before she got inside the house and hadn't even seen the bed.

OhShoot almost got shot today, idiots don't need to own guns

I took my carry permit class at Guns and Leather several years age. While in the range I noticed holes shot in all the lane tables. That was enough for me to stay away from ranges. I shoot in back yard. I have a couple a free passes for On Target. I thought I might try to use them on off hours when no one else is there. That has been over a year ago. -
Was I in the wrong yesterday while buying my shotgun?
Gun Smith replied to Tobashadow's topic in General Chat
Anytime a sales person ask for my phone number I just say, "uh, I'm not interested". Many of them enter in a dummy number. Every now and then if it's a woman I tell her, "Sorry, my wife won't let me give my number to beautiful women." :D -
OK, Here's my thoughts and concerns and/question. The american people may have millions of guns, billions even. But, do you really think they have any chance of standing up against a well armed military with tanks, planes, rockets, bombs, etc.? I mean, what's ten million ants against a man with a can of Raid? Please don't get me wrong, I love my guns and my rights to them, but I just don't see them along with all my patriots as a threat to any modern, well arm military. Feel free to set me straight, as I know you will. :pleased:

I used to have a little Britney Spaniel. She was hell on wheels. She not on kept the moles gone, but also the deer, turkey, rabbits, heck just everything. She was hilarious to watch hunting moles. She'd stick her ear to the ground, dig like crazy and stop, stick her ear to the ground, dig like crazy, on and on until she got her prey. She even once killed a ground hog! I'm telling ya, she was hell on wheels. I clocked her once with my car and she was running 30 mph.

alinga2001 has it. Been there many times. You just pull up in this open, massive paved area and dump. The have a front end loader to move whatever you dump and a tub grinder. In case you are interest, the grindings are free mulch to the public.

Sad to realize she's so stupid and screwed up.

Home Defense Weapon- Loaded Overnight?
Gun Smith replied to superduty's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
One loaded in my desk, which is at one end of the house. One loaded by my bed where I sleep with my wife. One loaded by my bed where I sleep when my wife snores :D . One loaded in my EDC, if not in my pocket it's in a draw position in my satchel I carry to work with me. All hot, always. No kids in my house except my 17 year old. He's not only trained, but knows far more facts about various guns and ammo than I do. The rascal has more time to read than I do. Anytime we have company with children we go into safety mode and every thing get unloaded or put way away. Wife and son are trained that all guns are to always be treated as loaded and to keep fingers off trigger unless ready to fire. -
He's just showing he likes what you like. :D

I have been trying to help a young friend find a decent used car. I've had very good success finding and purchasing used vehicles for myself over the years on Craig's list. Yes, you do have to weed through the scams and such, but it usually doesn't take too long to find a decent deal on something. That's not what I'm finding this time. Something that has happened repeatedly is that when a decent car at a decent price comes along, it has a rebuilt title. Meaning the car has been most likely totaled by an insurance company. And, when an insurance totals one, it means it costs more to repair the car than what its worth. Very seldom it can be because the car was stolen and recovered after the insurance had paid off. Every time I call about one of these rebuilt title cars it is just about always someone with a foreign accent. They always say the car had a busted head light and dented finder, but they fix it very good. One even told me he buys them at insurance auctions and flips them. There are warnings if you google "rebuilt title" about how these cars are fixed quick and cheap. Any of you guys know anything about these rebuilt title cars? Seems there is a bunch in Nashville.

I just came in from the shop a few minutes ago. I've been a carpenter and woodworker for about 25 years. It is my full time career. At present, I still have all my fingers and have never been even nicked by a saw. But, as they say, it's not "if, but "when". I preach safety constantly to my employees and if I catch them doing anything stupid or just unsafe we have a serious little talk, immediately. Having said all that, Sawstop is a wonderful idea. They hit the market after I had purchased my big cabinet saw. If I were in the market today it's the saw I'd purchase. I know many guys who have them that swear by them. They are a quality saw with great safety technology. Sure, if you are a bench tool hobbyist, it's not the tool for you. A Wal-mart Taskforce table saw will do. But, if you do serious woodworking or have employees using your tools, students for that matter, it can save a lot of pain and workers comp. headaches. A new cartridge, about $80, and a new blade $40 - 140, is nothing compare to thousands of dollars of surgery to reattach fingers and repair nerve damage. It cost my BIL about $20,000 for one of his employees at his cabinet shop. The only thing I don't like about Sawstop is the owner (a lawyer) and his tactics trying to get the government to make it mandatory that all brands of table saws use his safety technology.

Barack Obama is not pleased ...

Ole B.O. also twisted it to such that the country folks just want guns for their tradition of hunting. Wrong! And, that he even shoots trap. SO! Hey B.O., we want our firearms for pleasure, protection, and to secure our privileges. -
I believe most bolts from the box stores are from china. That's why they snap so easy. I am thinking as others, most likely the joist will not be in the exact desired location if attaching to a wood framed floor system. If that is the case, I would drill through the floor to mark my location, go under the house and add cross blocking (like bridging blocks). Then I would set the safe and lag to them. That would keep all your fasteners concealed. If attaching to concrete, I'd get my hands on a SDS type hammer drill (most rental places offer them). They make all the difference in the world compared to the plain jane hammer drills, especially when drilling for bolts compared to the tiny holes screws require.
-
That is a wonderful, clever idea!!! I did the drill a hole and stick a screw in it for air release. Every forum I read at a regular basis, (tractor, woodworking, carpentry, guns) has had similar rants about these stupid gas cans. We (tree huggers, enviro wackos, etc.) sure know how to outsmart ourselves.

Well, you'll know what to do next time. Go ahead and shoot the deer before an officer shows up and say the deer attacked you and that you were in fear for your life. Officer, I didn't know what else to do. A real shame.
