1. I used one of these for several years. Great product.. http://www.stowaway2.com/hitch-cargo-carriers.aspx
2. As a melanoma survivor I can only cringe....
3. I have had these for about 3 years and only wear them occasionally. Wonderful fit, comfortable, rugged and very waterproof. My son has the steel toed version and wears them alot with no complaints. The MSRP on the link is high.. I paid $125 for mine. Can't believe they've gone up that much. But the quality is there. Got mine at French's. http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/1170-red-wing-shoes/1170-red-wing-mens-11-inch-pull-on-boot-brown
4.
Yes, you are correct that is was a consulate designation, but seems likely to only have been set in that location more in support of the CIA's covert arms mission than to aid US citizens. A tourist mecca it ain't. The degree to which it was planned to be permanent is moot, since it's not there now at all. - OS
Would be far from the first time that a facility was established without true diplomatic purpose. That said, our two countries were trying to expand such and if not attacked would still be there. We'll be back there in time I feel certain... for whatever reason.
5.
I'm not surprised if anyone hadn't read it or even heard of it yet...it only just shipped to my Kindle on Monday or Tuesday. I'm roughly a quarter of the way through it and it's been a good read so far although not as dramatic as "Lights Out" (or at least as I recall it).
+1 Not early as good as "Lights Out"' which is hard to top, so far but decent reading nonetheless.
6.
You know, one thing that hasn't (re)surfaced, is that the whole reason Chris Stevens was even set up in Benghazi had to do with some sort of a secret arms deal between the CIA and the new Libyan govt. That wasn't even an embassy, just a temporary "diplomatic outpost", for whatever reasons. - OS
I believe it had Consulate status rather than just a temporary "diplomatic outpost." There are hundreds around the world in non-capital cities. They are subordinate to the Ambassador who sits at the Embassy. There is usually a Consulate General in charge. Typically, in "normal" countries they deal with U.S. citizen affairs, business concerns and are most well know for issuing visas to the U.S. In this case perhaps it was just a way to have a formal USG presence.
7. Imagine the Justice Department investigation had there been just one precinct in the South that voted 100% (or even 90%) for Romney....
8.
Hmmmm...., If you can look pass the little black dress - - - I don't think that is a KIA. Wonder who will get the Ferrari, Dessie or her divorce lawyer?
Wish I could see the headlights on that.
9.
Here's some interesting reading on this subject: http://moonbattery.com/?p=20808 I think it's dead on target. leroy
Best part of that link: "The whole country is Chicago now. Soon, the whole country will be Detroit."
10. Something certainly smells here. Its easy to surmise what happened without knowing more. That said, I put my money on Gen. Petreaus but admit I sure could be wrong. Granted, he may have indeed had the affair but if so, I think it would have been more well known than most believe and wouldn't cause him to resign. The substance and timing are simply too ironic to not question the whole affair. The entire Libya story has yet to be told. Time will tell.
11.
Far out. Megan goes halfway across Fox building to interview the guys in the Decision Desk Room about their decision to call Ohio in response to Rove's ranting. Boy she really is one fine lookin' dame....don't get to see her walking around much. - OS
She recovered right nice from having having a kid earlier this year.
12. I believe Gen. Petraeus was tired of essentially being away from home/family for the better part of ten years. Even when he was C/Centcom he was gone all the time. The Director's job provided him some domestic stability if you will while allowing him to serve in a different capacity. CIA has had many former military officers serve as Director (formerly DCI). That said, Obama most probably wanted to get him pigeonholed somewhere due to his (Petraeus') immense public popularity. The Director's job is usually a low key position. You've not heard alot from him recently, until now. In the end both were happy. However, I would expect Petraeus to exhibit character and honesty, unlike the other guy.
13. All is not lost. One could use Detroit as a training ground for certain survival skills.
14. David - My sincerest condolences and certainly prayers for you and your family. May your faith sustain you.
15. +1 for the G22 and KelTec Sub 2000. Add the G23 and you're all set.
16. You didn't shoot that! Obama and his handlers are desparate.
17. 6.8 - Well said.
18. Good luck in your move. Sounds like you are doing it for the right reasons. If you have to leave Tennessee there sure could be worse places to go.
19. Me, too. I'm not saying you are wrong. Guess we just think differently. Hope none do us ever have to find out what we would do.

CLP = Clean, Lubricate, Protect.... http://www.safepistol.com/public/CLEANING%20TIPS.pdf Was just wonderin' as I sweat on my Glock, too.
21. Question - you are worried more about what your wife would think and her "respect" than about some innocent person's life? Did I read that incorrectly? And worth more than money? Maybe I just misunderstood. Please clarify for me. Thanks a lot.
22. My vote for the best response in this thread. For those who ignore the plight of an innocent peson being slaughtered I hope you enjoy the potential financial advantages for you and yours. Personally, I couldn't. God bless us all.

If you clean weekly what do you use for CLP? Something's not right.
24. This is indeed one of the more interesting threads in a while and a great debate. I judge no one and understand each makes his own decision based on personal beliefs. For those who would choose not to intervene how you would feel if it was your wife, daughter, mother, sister, or other loved one who was innocently being stabbed. Please don't try to spin by restating different scenarios, other what ifs, etc. Lets just assume your aforementioned loved one was being attacked by some guy in a store or other any other place. Would you mind if I (carrying a handgun) walked up and didn't take action but only called 911? Or did absolutely nothing at all and left the scene? Regardless of your own answer, please also ask your wife, daughter, mother, sister or other loved one what they would like me do do? For those who would shoot how do you make your decision? There is so much at stake. If you make the wrong move you may not be around to protect your loved ones. As has been stated this largely seems to be a moral vs. legal decision. There is no single answer for everyone. I appreciate all the previous input. It has made me seriously think about both sides of the argument.
