Newsflash from Wallyworld: Ammo prices raised

Just got back from wallyworld, stopped at the ammo counter as I saw 45 ACP value packs. Guy in front of me bought 1 of the 4, leaving 3. His total was $38 and change. Wait . . . . huh?? $29.97 + 10 cents + sales tax shouldn't be any more than $33, what the . . . . ??? :(

So I asked. Win 45 Value packs are now $34.97, a $5 increase per box.

But wait . . . . there's more!

Win 9mm value packs are now $21.97, a $2 per box increase from $19.97.

He rattled off something about Win 40 S&W Value Packs being increased, but I don't buy those, so it went in one ear and out the other.

And to think I used to say nice things about wallyworld holding the line on ammo prices. A FIVE DOLLAR INCREASE per box is nuts!

A big  for wallyworld on this one.

Hmmm, now I feel just a wee bit like an oil company, got some inventory profits.

Dang, I got into reloading just in time.

Except for the primer shortage.

I ran out of pistol primers about six months ago and my rifle primers are almost gone too.

Ammo shelves are empty.

I bought factory ammo for the first time in two years, but only cause icehead had some ammo at a very fair price.

wideners.com has wolf primers in stock. just bought a bunch. if you buy in bulk the hazmat fee isnt that bad... i think mine came to $34/1000 shipped. ive got some SP magnum primers at the house though and I would trade for LP primers if someone were so inclined... need LP more than i need SP.

Wonder if this is WinClean ammo? It's always been a few $$ more than the regular stuff.

Have never seen .45 WC but they do make it. Have seens lots of 9mm WC at WalMarts for $21.97/box for quite some time.

Don't know how to make it any clearer--it was as stated. Value packs, FMJ, 230 gr 45 ACP and the 9mm was 115 gr FMJ. No winclean. You can see for yourself next time you go to purchase some.

Mentioning in OP that the ammo is not WinClean would be a start.
