Actually...

Zach Wamp on the Issues

... he's not so bad.

If there was not a better candidate available, I MIGHT vote for him. His voting record demonstrates a mainstream Republican stance. I was not impressed. From the record he posted on his website, he is in favor of Federal meddling at all levels.

He displays a lack of understanding of Constitutional restrictions on the Federal government.

Fortunately, Ramsey is better on all issues.

Let's remember the previous two former congressmen that were elected governor. Don Sunquist, the father of the Tennessee Income Tax proposal (Jimmy Naifeh was the "mother"). Also almost did in Tennessee by not being able to control TennCare. And then there was Ray Blanton who did prison time over his commuting sentences for pay and other crimes. We don't like Washington running our lives but we will elect someone who has been part of the Washington "Belt Way" establishment. That is not what Tennessee needs.

I am planning to vote for Ramsey.

Bill "helped to create 11,000 minimum wage convenient store clerk jobs" Haslam is no friend to firearm owners. He was part of the known anti gun-group "mayors against illegal guns" just remove the word illegal to know their true agenda. You can best be assured his interest are just that, HIS! He wants to help his families business by steering legislation in his favor. I don't t think he really cares about guns either way, he will do whatever it takes to get elected.

As for Wamp, he voted for the TARP bailout. Just what I want for office someone that hands over our money to the banks. Thanks for the little dose of fascism* Wamp, it was great. :)

There is great truth in this post. I heartily agree.

We could use some "fresh" non-polititians. Ramsey may be the man.

Keep up the good work.

Kind regards,

I know this isn't really second amendment, but didn't Ramsey allow the state supreme to continue choosing their justices in an unconstitutional way? All he had to do was let is sunset. Now we have to keep letting some dirty lawyers do backroom deals and tell the governor "If you don't like the ones we send then we can send some that are worse." That will affect our second amendment because they will rule on every law we pass. Just like the guns in restuarant bill that is now stalled.

Do you have a link or reference to this? I'm very interested in seeing what this is.

I don't think Ramsey was alone. Both houses apparently wanted to continue it too. Could he have stopped it? I'm not sure.

http://blogs.tennessean.com/politics/tag/judicial-selection/

What does it really matter if we get to select judges or they do? Have people really been shown smart enough to elected good people in this country? Let alone you get judges in the race that people have no clue about, could care less, and most likely most voters just randomly press a button for a judge. Do we get to vote for justices for the SCOTUS? Not the last time I checked.

Is it unconstitutional? Yes. Are most of the gun laws TN have unconstitutional (both within the TN and US constitution)? Yes. What's new?

I'm not voting for either one of those guys. I tried to talk to both of them about Restaurant Carry and they would not give me the time of day. I am voting for the one man that did give me his time and actually supports our 2nd Amendment Rights....Ron Ramsey.

I had gotten where I liked Wamp until the bailout vote and cash for clunkers which was a horrible program. That lost me.

Haslem being in the Bloomberg group and some other things have made me hope that he doesn't get elected. I think him and his family do a great job of running Pilot. I don't want him running my life though.

Ramsey, I dunno. I'll check into him though.

One more note. I have the internet posting about Wamp and Victor Ashe in a photo along with the mayor of Chatt. all voting for....:"The American Heritage Rivers Initiative". A socialists adjenda where the U.S. gubmit takes control of all waterways and tributaries. Yes, our federal government takes control of all waterways and their tributaries and, land within about 100 feet of the banks.

Don't believe it? Post back and I will try and find the original news article.
