Would you shoot 3 girls?

Forget about the question of whether I would shoot them. I am an adult male. There is no way I am going to let a teenaged girl whom I do not know into my home or allow her to use my phone. Too many things can go wrong and if she is trying to set me up for whatever reason I am going to be convicted in the court of public opinion, if not criminal court, no matter what the actual circumstances. I'll call 911 or a cab for her but unless I see she is in imminent danger (someone chasing her, dog attacking her, etc.) she can forget about coming in.

In my first taekwondo tournament at age 6 I kicked a girl in the stomach and knocked the wind out of her and she vomited on the mat. It was a legal kick & I had them thunderthighs of power lol. I was told to wait on the side of the mat and Everyone was looking at me like I was spawn of satan. Confused, I asked my mom.. 'I'm supposed to beat her right'?? I have chivalry and borderline on chauvinistic regarding females *sometimes*. My ex girlfriend is an attractive amateur 5'5" 130lb mma/mu thai fighter.. I hold no illusions that she could whoop my butt without breaking a good sweat while appearing to be a wholesome, sweet, innocent, Helpless, Harmless petite blond of appreciable dimensions.

Last week I had some random woman show up at my door around 3PM on a weekday waving some raggedy papers mumbling something about magazines, acne riddled face, shoelaces untied on her sneakers, top button of her jeans undone, classic picture of a woman on the wrong side of a meth habit. I gave her the same flat stare I give approaching street thugs. It conveys I am more willing than you to fight to the death, go find some sheep. Told her to leave the property immediately. 10 minutes later I see her in a raggedy car with what appeared to be two white guys and a mexican guy, driving down the road.

We have alot of kids in this neighborhood, seems like once a week one of them is knocking on my door with a handout for cookie dough, magazines, candy bars, etc. I am not shy about answering the door with my gun on my hip. It's not advertising.. it's deterrence. When I see a stranger out there at that time of day I find out what they're about because there's too many kids walking around and unfortunately too many of these kids don't seem to have enough street savvy about dealing with strangers.

3 girls at the door?????

Think Kill Bill & grab your spare mag too!

The practice at my home is simple, and everyone knows the rules: If we are not expecting you, we are not opening the door to you. That doesn't mean that we will open the heavy door but not the glass / storm door. That means any door.

You will not see us. We will not expose ourselves to be seen by you or harmed by you. And rest assured that if you are ringing my doorbell or skulking around my house, we know you are there, we are watching you from within, and we are armed.

This ^^

If you are not expected at the house, the door does not get opened period. Our door doesn't have a peephole and most of the windows would expose us if we peeked out, so I will go into our kitchen and check the driveway for a car we recognize. If we don't see a car, the door doesn't get opened. Car we don't recognize? Same thing......It is kind of easy anyways, because all our friends and family know we never use the front door/it stays dead bolted, and they knock on our side door that attaches to our deck.

I try and make it a habit of keeping my gun on my hip even when I am around the house, that way if someone decides to try and kick the door vs just knock, I don't have to go retrieving it. I can guarantee you if someone knocks on my door after hours and look shady, that I will be loading up my AR and sitting on my couch in the living room for the next hour or 2. One of my dad's patience that works for the sheriffs department warned him and my stepmom of attacks like these. Apparently the story goes along the lines of 1 of them usually standing in front of the door looking distraught with a sob story, the second they open it up they bust in - 2 hold you down, the other does a quick smash and grab. They said they try and target stay at home moms while the husband/kids are away at school/work respectively so they have easy prey.

Glad the guy is ok, I am sure just about anyone would have a tough time dealing with someone swinging a hammer at you after getting a shot of mace to the face.

Clarksville Now - Hired Escort Turns Out To Be Robber

*In best Paul Harvey impression* "And now you know, the reeeeeest of the story."

Looks like the guy hired an escort online & she showed up with 2 friends & robbed him when he opened the door. We all thought there had to be more to this. ;) Turns out we were right. :)

The moral of the story is, if you hire a hooker late at night & she shows up with 2 friends, DONT OPEN THE DOOR! (Or just dont hire hookers period....)

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Clarksville police say a woman is in custody and two others are sought in an investigation into an alleged home robbery earlier this month.

Ashley Michelle McKinnon, 24, of Smyrna, was booked into the Montgomery County jail Sunday and charged with one count of robbery.

Police say McKinnon was among three women who knocked on the door of a home on Jenny Lane in Clarksville on Sept. 11 wanting to use the phone. The victim later told police that when he answered the door, the women forced him to the ground, pepper sprayed him in the face, held him to the ground with a bench press bar, and smacked him in the shoulder with a hammer.

Two of the suspects ransacked the house and robbed him of a guitar, computer, cell phone, and wallet before speeding away.

Police say the investigation reveals that the robbery victim had placed a call to an escort service he found online. When the escort and two other women arrived, he let them enter the home. They then allegedly knocked him to the ground and removed $5,300 in property and currency from the residence.

McKinnon is held on a $25,000 bond, and police say more arrests are pending as the investigation continues.

Beat ya by 2 minutes. ;)

I dont think she really looks like a juvenile though. She looks young, but over 18. Although I guess if it was 1:30 in the morning & she was hitting me with a hammer maybe I wouldnt be able to get that good of a look at her..... :)

We have a growing trend of women being involved in robberies and home invasions. There have been several recent incidents in which the women have used pepper spray on the victim.

These "magazine" folks like to get look inside and also try to see who's home and when they are home.

If you choose not to answer to the door be ready for a return visit. Especially during the day.

If we get a knock in the middle of the night we don't answer the door. Every outside light we have goes on and a few inside.

If I do decide to answer a knock from a stranger, I slip out the back come around the house so I can get a good look before making contact. This always surprises them and gives me the advantage. It also gives me distance and doesn't provide them with an opening into the house like answering the door would.

So all the discussion about 'uninvited' was moot to this case though worthy of being discussed... I think the real lesson here is consequences of your own actions pfft

If it was up to me he would be charged with obstruction....

You know...if you play with fire, you increase your chances of getting burned. We may see prostitution as a victimless crime...but prostitutes are criminals whether some people think of them that way or not and they very often associate with people who are also criminals; sometimes really scummy people who have no conscious and no qualms about robbing someone or worse. If you deal with those kind of people you are engaging in risky behavior and sometimes the risk turns into an actuality.

I figured it was something like that; three women pulling home invasions would probably not be a single random act.

However, he was the victim of a robbery. He obviously gave enough information to lead investigators to the arrest.

If someone calls an escort service that doesn’t justify home invasion and battery. Not to mention that if he (as a victim) was charged some people on here heads would explode before they could get their ranting about the Police out.

Agreed.

I hope I didn't come across as "accusing him" of deserving to be robbed/assaulted. I was simply suggesting that he was engaging in some risky behavior.

I liken it to a person going into an area of a city, maybe late at night, that he/she knows has a very high crime rate - that person certainly doesn't deserve to become a victim but it still wouldn't be a very bright thing to do. :koolaid:

Yes he was a victim.

However, if the police are investigating a crime & you flat out lie to them is that not a crime? He obviously lied about the circumstances surrounding the robbery.

Only if they are material facts that could change the outcome of the case. Whether he called an escort and voluntarily let her in, or whether she knocked on the door, asked to use the phone, and he voluntarily let her in is not a material fact to the charge of robbery.

You drive into an area to score a bag of weed and get car jacked. Most people make up some story about looking for a friend or just driving around; they don’t tell the cops they were trying to buy weed. The cops know what’s going on, but it’s not material to the carjacking.

I’m not saying that not being totally truthful with the cops is a good idea, it goes to credibility, but it may not always be a crime.

Also, if you charge the victim with a crime you might as well let the robbers go. You don’t have a victim to testify in court and even if he did the defense will destroy his credibility as a witness. They will try that anyway in this case.

Yes, he was a victim.

BUT

He put himself in a situation that made him more likely to be a victim. (kinda like Pacman Jones used to do–you know, more people become victims in strip club parking lots at 4AM than do those sleeping at home in bed at 4AM)
