I have read many reviews and watched video reviews on YouTube about these. From what I can tell the red tip from the critical defense is just green in the zombie loads. A great way for Hornady to make some extra money I guess?

If your color blind it really doesn't matter!

Okay! Thank you all for the responses. I almost bought a box today at Academy but then I remembered that they just looked like the Personal Defense loads with green inserts so I decided against it but I've got to head that way again on next Tuesday so I figured I'd double check.

....I'm going to pick a box of each just to put up also. It is a really cool box.

Thinking about doing the same and stashing it in one of my mystery cans. You know, the unmarked ammo cans with random, obscure and seldom used bewletts that get stashed under a bed or buried in a closet somewhere. I can rediscover it in a few years, say "cool" and admire it. :yuck:

That's just memory loss from old age John

We refer to it as "some timers"...its the early stages of aging......but thats funny! I bought the poster from Hornady, framed it and got it hanging in my garage by my western bar (yes, I have a bar in my garage done up to look like an old western bar). Its framed and hanging near my zombie shooting posters.

I can just image, someone is going to have that loaded in their carry weapon when they have a legit reason to use it. The media will then focus on those evil bullets and we will have some family saying he was a good boy, not a zombie.

Maybe they should be called all-purpose rounds, from paper to zombie.

Yep, ZombieMax and Critical Defense are the same ammo from everything I've heard. I picked up a box of the 9mm at Specialty Arms in La Vergne to try in my PM9. It was $4 cheaper a box than the Critical Defense, so I really can't pass it up at that price.

I have thought the same thing. Maybe I'm being to worrisome?

So you pick up a couple boxes of Critical Defense to actually use in your carry gun, and a few more boxes of the less expensive Zombie Max for practice / function test. Problem solved.
