Beautiful weapon, excellent looking condition! I'm happy the police are letting her sell it!

Unless that gun was registered by 1968 she unfortunately, is a felon. Too bad the ignorant reporters don't give us some more details!!!! That STG 44 is indeed extremely valuable, historic and just cool.

Everytime I see pictures of these feel-good gun turn-ins there is always some nice old piece of military history that gets thrown away by some ignoramus.

StG 44! One of my favorite weapons from WWII and father to the AK-47. They'll let her sell it and probably some gun shop will buy it and put it in their rental case. That'd be a crying shame!

Doubt that pretty highly. If she's able to sell it the FFL will most likely turn around and resale it rather get it all goobered up by the unclean public. That one will most likely end up in a collection somewhere if she's actually able to sell it.

They said in the video they are giving it back so she can sell it.

If she can find the original paperwork from the Army allowing it to be sent home, it can be added to the Registry. If that happens, it will be a $15K machine gun. Otherwise, it's a $1000 parts kit as the receiver will have to be destroyed.

I have no idea where they go the idea it's worth $30,000. I've never seen a legally transferable STG44 sell that high. Also, most were issued to normal Army units, not 'SS'. The first large issue went to a Waffen SS unit trapped by the Russians. After that, most went to Panzer Grenadiers (Mechanized Infantry) or regular Infantry Regiments. Over 425,000 were made.
