Are we about to become felons?

Recommended Posts

It would seem that anti gun legislation is a forgone conclusion. I keep seeing the term "ban" on assault weapons and high cap magazines. What will that mean? New York has passed legislation that bans high caps with citizen expected to sell there existing stock out of state? They have made it so that a mag with more than 7 rounds is illegal Also and assault weapon is defined as anything with a "flash hider" Things are about to get very interesting.

no,  you have to be convicted to be a felon.  i much prefer the term,  outlaw.

hopefully TN will fall in line with Texas & Wyoming pushing legislation to show the Feds where the state rights line is.  "The plan calls for felony criminal charges to be filed against any federal official who tries to ban or restrict ownership of semi-automatic firearms."  Now that is a fed felon.

I am nowhere near an expert on the matter, but I always thought that you were allowed to keep the items you owned prior to the ban taking effect, unless otherwise specified. I could be totally wrong, but that's how I understand it.

I doubt BO wants to let that ride again.

Ex post facto laws are forbidden in Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3 of the Constitution. Something being unconstitutional hasn't seemed to stop them so far.

If it makes it to the SCOTUS, this will prob be the law's weakness. Forcing people to sell tomorrow what was theirs legally under the 2A today.... seems a stretch to me. We can only hope and pray that the SCOTUS stays legit
