Was in Walmart about 11 today buying a ball for my hitch. Stopped to look at guns (This is in Brandon, MS), but one thing was certainly noticeable. They have those revolving glass gun cases out on the middle of the floor. Both full. And no one even in the Sporting Goods section and the place was packed. Had 4 AR's, a BMI M4 for $860, a Windham M4 for $830 and two LE6920's for $1299. No one even looking.

Ammo, plenty of it. .22 bulk, 12 gauge small game loads, about everything. Except what I have been looking for. .44 Mag and 30-30.

One thing I did notice, prices on the ammo were a little high (I thought). I dont own a 30-06 but someone tell me, isnt $39.99 for a box of 20 Remington Cor-Lokt a little high? Cannot see there normal prices online because it is in store only. Also noticed a LOT of 7MM Rem Mag.

thats about double what it should be. I paid 19.99 for 30-06 corelokt 180gr about 2 hours ago at sportsman's warehouse, and 18.99 for 165gr core-lokt monday night.

I'm pretty sure i just saw the Colt 6920 at my Wal-Mart for $1047 +/-. Are you sure the 30-06 was by the correct price tag?

Yep, had to do a double take on it just to make sure of what I was seeing. It was tagged at $39.99.

I think we are in a ammo vacuum here in east Tennessee. I haven't seen ANY 22lr in any store in the last 5 months. Not a single box, bulk or otherwise. The last 22 I bought was 22 short I bought the first part of January. I normally shoot 2K+ a month and haven't shot that since December. Even considering building a 22 Jet just so I can use my 22 lr can. I have 22 lr but I will not fire another shot until I can buy more.

Now my local Walmart gets 22lr in a few times every week according to the workers. They said they get thousands of rounds each time but the same group of guys come in and buy all they can. Same thing for 223, 9mm and most other popular calibers.

Local wally worlds near me are stocked up on guns as well.  Ammo's slowly coming up, but as mentioned the more popular calibers are still mia.

I'd buy a Windham M4 for $830. Leave the snake off and get a discount. :D

Same story here in West TN at our Wal-Mart.  I haven't seen any handgun ammo (except for 1 box of 44 mag about a month ago) at the local store since Christmas.  The clerks tell me the same thing, there's a line every morning before 7:00 with the same guys waiting to buy everything/anything that came in over night.

I was in a KY Wally World last week and they were stocked on ARs. They even had an M&P 15-22 in the display. It was just a couple months ago that people were selling those for twice the cost.

Funny because I was laughed at for offering a person $650 for a used S&W Sport just a few months ago, which is very fair for a used sport. Who's laughing now dips***?

There was some CCI at a local shop here. $8 a box but they had it.  Everything but 45 is still high.
