TGO AR Build Deals

Recommended Posts

If you'll need 5.56 ammo for your build, here is a decent deal. 35 cents/round.

That's a really good deal for factory ammo when compared to anything i've seen in a long time. Cheapest thing I can remember seeing at Outpost was still north of 50 cents even when buying bulk (unless there is something new that I haven't seen yet).

I have one of their rails on the way (backordered). Had difficulty picking one out  :dunno: . I figured I can always change it if I don't like it.

Think I did OK on the barrel. It was slightly less than similar barrels so I hope I didn't cheap it too much. Reviews were good though.

JSE has these in stock. Anyone use this YHM barrel? I'm itching to finish this build! Also anyone have a lead on a good deal for a gas block?

Dolomite posted a link to an eBay seller who has adjustable low profile blocks for around $45.00

That's an awesome price and if Dolomite says your good to go then you are.

I believe the co is called tse I've got one of their adjustable blocks on a rifle on Dolomites recommend, less than 50 bucks ultra light uses a stainless long set screw. Works well. Half the price of a JP adjustable block.

I found his link somewhere. The brand name on the Gas Block was BTE (Battle Tested Equipment) I went with the standard non adjustable because I didn't want to wait for the adjustable one to be in stock. I got antsy. I ordered a barrel and gas tube from Primary Arms and the UTG Pro Free Float Quad Rail from Optics Planet. I also ordered a BCM A2 flash hider so everything I need to finish this build is on it's way. I feel like a kid at Christmas!

P.S. Here's a link for those interested to the stainless non adjustable Gas Block. I bought the black version of this:

I should have done a search. Here's a link where they can be purchased thru the company. I think the Ebay listing may be the companies as well but they were showing the adjustable ones in stock.

I think I'm going to have to modify the one I have to work with the upper. It's close but there are a few high spots that mean it doesn't fit properly. I already had to remove a few slivers with a sharp chisel for the pistol upper I did.

Was thinking of this barrel for my TGO build. It's out of stock now, but I can wait. Anyone see anything wrong with this one?

There are several sites to get quality barrels for reasonable prices. Any reason your set on that particular barrel?

I ended up going with this:

Very similar specs but 1:7 twist. A few buck less and they are in stock now.

I haven't shot it yet but I'm happy with the looks. For the price of yours I've seen Yankee Hill barrels. I don't know if they are any better as I'm new to ARs.

Any good?

HotShot must be the importer, like Wolf. I see they used to sell lots of 7.62x39 which was from Ukraine, has varying reviews, but this says Romanian made. Says SS109 bullet, but doesn't really claim NATO spec, though, so....?
