new 1911 grip set question

Recommended Posts

(ADMIN-IF I AM VIOLATING SOME RULE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I am just looking for opinions on this product from some of the veteran gun owners on this site)

I shared this last week and it got removed. Not sure why. I asked "support" for assistance, but got no response. Now, I am thinking maybe I just didn't hit the "POST" button.
I wanted to get some feedback on a product that will be available in January that you can pre-order now.
It's a grip set for 1911's and it screws in (like all the rest, of course) but has an additional feature of creating a rail for a laser/light. It's not a clip on, it actually screws together under the slide also.
My Springfield Milspec doesn't have a rail , and I am considering getting one of these. ($49 ain't too bad a price)

If you're just looking for a light, I think the Crimson Trace Light Guard will fit a mil-spec: http://www.crimsontrace.com/products/manufacturer/1911-pistols/01-7100
Does it replace the slide stop? The picture appears to not have one. Edit: Not the crimson trace but the OP Edited by Lumber_Jack

IMO, from looking at the picture, they appear to add a lot of width to the grip and also look like they would be very rough on the hands. Put a nice set of wooden grips on your gun and if you want a light get the crimson trace light with the adapter.

Also, you get what you pay for. These just appear priced to low to be of any quality.

I agree with Joe.

If it's too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true.

You also may want to do an indepth search to see what the guys who got in on the first wave think of them.
I haven't had any luck finding any reviews on other forums or threads, but give it time.

If thses things are as good as they're supposed to be for only $50.
The guy must be pruducing them all buy himself (i.e. not factory or help)...
He must not have produced a great quatity, they sold out so quickly.

I agree with MacGyver, it's ugly, BUT
To each his own...

Jax, give one a try and let us all know what you think once you've tried it.

Who knows, it could be the next Atwood Prybaby.... ;)

Interesting. I'd like to know about the quality of these too (does have a lifetime warranty). Wouldn't mind getting one for my Rock Island and mount my Viridian to it to reclaim my M&P .40 as my carry gun.

I was informed that the next production run will be shipping within 2 weeks and there is still time to get in on it. I, sadly, have not gotten a set yet to review on my page. They want to get as many out to customers as possible since the demand is so high. Wish I had a review for everyone.
