Anyone else catch the Stag Arms - Conneticut thing on NRA radio

I was listening to NRA Radio last night and heard that since Stag Arms could not sell AR's in Conneticut any longer, they desgned a Stag .22 LR based off an AR platform that met the requirements of Conneticuts new anti gun laws. They also found a loophole. According to the NRA, what Stag found was on the pistol grip, the law doesnt specifically say that Pistol Grips are not allowed, what it addresses is the way that the hand/fingers/thumb grip the stock.

So they built a compliant AR in .22LR for the Connecticut market.

According to the law, they did what they were supposed to and took it to the CT. State Police for approval. The CT State Police informed Stag that "it isnt our job to approve or disapprove your gun".

So under the law they have the right to present the gun for approval to the State legislature. Which they did. And the State legislature realizing they failed to ban ALL AR's went ballistic.

So they found a loophole.

The law states that Stag had the right to present the gun for approval. What the Law doesnt state is that the State legislature has to give them an answer.

So they arent getting an answer.

So they cant sell their gun in Conneticut.

Ridiculous.

I recently bought some stuff off a guy in CT. He said Midway will no longer ship ANYTHING to CT because of their laws. He said that certain gun parts must be submitted for approval by the state. And Midway got tired of having their customer's shipments held up waiting for approval. Because Midway has no clue what is and is not approved they refuse to ship anything to the state.

Any manufacturer who plans on selling a gun in CT must submit 5 samples. Even different variants of the same gun must be submitted separately. And those guns submitted are not returned. Imagine a company like S&W having to submit 5 samples of each model they sell, it would run into the hundreds of thousands.

Can't believe CT citizens are letting their local government screw them like this. Why are they not fighting this on every level up to the courts?

Seems it would be easier to fight back than comply with these illegal unconstitutional laws. Edited by JohnC

You would be surprised how compliant the average person is to government infringement, the great majority of folk just figure to let someone else carry the water...

We can't think or live this way anymore. Just look where it has gotten us today. And it'll only get worse if we continue to let them win.

I said this before, but if we don't fight them on every level, meeting them tit for tat, we'll just hand them more kids and turf to destroy and before long, there will be nowhere else to run.

This fight starts at the local level and with the youth.

If you don't educate the children to take back the turf from the old left-wing, they'll indoctrinate them in to a bunch of Marxist socialist communist blahh blahh dumbed down collectivist useful idiots.

I figure before long most of New England will fall under pretty much the same situation before long they will all follow Connecticut on this stupidity and they will all fall in the big hole they are digging together..................jmho

I noticed on handgunlaws.us that the only north eastern states that honor TN carry permits are New Hampshire and Vermont, the only problem is just how to transport your handgun to these states since they are surrounded by states that don't honor our permits. I wouldn't even transport any firearm through these states, even if I totally dissambled it and locked it in a case and put it in the trunk. Somehow you would violate one of their laws and i'm sure they would love to bust some out of stater on some technicality.

Fill up the tank, empty bladder before crossing into enemy territory. Drive the speed limit, don't stop for any reason, and pray for safe passage.

NRA has a radio station?

It is Patriot Radio on Sirius. NRA Broadcast's "NRA Radio" with a few people, David Webb being one I like, at night on Patriot Channel and during the weekend during the Day. Basically Patriot becomes NRA Radio. Every year they broadcast directly from SHOT Show, this week there are some live night shows and they are rebroadcasting their SHOT Show Broadcasts.

Predicting....Within a few years people from NY and CT will be moving to Canada so they can enjoy fewer firearm restrictions than their state employs. I would like to believe that those in power who have made these draconian so called "laws" feel a sense of self disgust, loathing, and hatred for the realization of what they have become.

Or moving to places like Tennessee because we are a lot cheaper than Canada. Problem is they are true liberals. They only want to be conservatives when it comes to certain things, everything else they would support. Then after they have instilled the agenda here and it again becomes too liberal for them they move onto another state to ruin them.

They supported the liberal agenda until THEIR government struck a nerve and they decided to move. So when they come here they might want some firearm freedoms but they also want all the social programs and other liberal benefits that they have lived with and supported for the last 3 decades.

We are seeing it now with a lot of liberals moving here because their home state became too liberal but they want to turn Tennessee into the utopia that was their home state right before their leaders went too far in their home state. It is easier for them to move here than to fight for their own state. Then when things get too bad here they leave us to fight the battle they started.

Personally I would not be against an immigration system for our state. You cannot become a resident of Tennessee unless you meet certain requirements. If you get caught living here without it you get shipped off, in the middle of the night, to your previous state of residency. And even after you are permitted residency you cannot vote in state or local elections for 7 years. Not sure what the requirements would be but one would be that you must pay taxes, either income or property, to be allowed to become a Tennessean.
