This from RIO's home page, I don't think anyone has posted this in the other thread, which I can't find now anyway:

"To our loyal Shooters, Fans and Followers:

It is with a heavy heart that the Rio Ammunition family informs you that on Wednesday, April 16th, an accident in our Tennessee facility took from us one of our own. Other members of our team were injured, at least one other seriously. Those injured have received, and to the extent still needed, are getting medical care. We are working closely with regulatory agencies and others to understand the source of this tragic event. We ask that you keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers. We reflect with great pride on the actions of our staff who were not injured to assist those who were. We express appreciation to the professional first responders who answered the call. We would like to thank all of our customers, friends and followers who have reached out with offers of assistance. Your compassion gives us strength beyond words.

While you may have many questions about this event, we respectfully request that you understand the evolving nature of this situation. We hope that you can afford us the time necessary to work through the investigation and to grieve. It will take time and patience, but we will persevere. It is the Rio way."

They make affordable yet quality shotgun shells. I didn't realize they were made in Tennessee until another fellow pointed it out to me. I thought they came from Spain.

Based on my poor memory, you are correct that initially they came from Spain, then later Mexico as I recall.  I think they were a common shells used in Argentina for a long time.  Not sure when they moved to TN, but again think it was around 5 or so years ago.  When try and find the actual version.

RIO is the ammo provider for my daughter's school clay shooting team. We had just placed a good sized order a couple of weeks ago, but not sure when that will get fulfilled at this point. Hopefully fairly soon. At 200+ shells a week, Wally World and Academy are going to get expensive :(

I thought Mexico, maybe in the past. I can't say for sure if it was Rio shells or some other but I had some .410 made with a bi-metal base instead of brass that would swell and stick/hang in the chamber that took a cleaning rod to extract. Like I said I thought it was Rio ammo but not positive. It was also 5+ years old. I have also had cheapo 12 guage Winchester bi-metal shells do the same thing, I wont buy or fire any shotgun shell with a bi-metal base anymore.
