Damn skeeters!

Recommended Posts

Anyone else noticed a proliferation of the wee bastards the past couple of days?
Usually we have a few knocking around, nothing unusual, but since 5am yesterday, it seems I can't leave the house without being being covered in the little vampires!
Is this a locale thing, our is it happening elsewhere?

I've been tormented by them all summer long here in balmy, sunny Inglewood. Seems that the Metro Health Dept. determined it not necessary to spray this area this year.

They found no West Nile carrying samples...so they opted to save money and bypass spraying here along Cooper Creek, which is basically a run off drain for all the rain in this particular segment of the community.

Hmmm...lets think about this. Rain, drain area that stays wet. What does that usually yield? Mosquitos?  Naw!!! Never!

I can hardly step outside my door without a swarm attacking me.

Put one (or 1/2 or 1/4) of these in every spot of standing water you find.  They work.  I've got a gutter that doesn't drain properly, directly above my patio where my grill sits.  The little bastards used to eat my ankles off while grilling.  Now I toss 1/4 of one in after it's rained and no more mosquitoes.
