Another EDC carry question

Recommended Posts

So we know you cannot carry a long gun outside of your vehicle with ammunition present. But I got to thinking what if your long gun takes the same magazines as your sidearm?

With the recent release of the Nano Glock carbine it would seem like a perfect gun to SBR and carry with you. And because you would not have ammunition for it I would think that it would be legal to do so. But in the event that you need a rifle just drop the magazine out of your Glock and put it into the Nano.

So what does everyone else think?

Talk to Voldmort...if he can even still own a gun or carry one. I'm sure he'd love to give it a try!

You can actually have a LOADED long gun in your vehicle now as long as you have a HCP. That changed a year or two ago.

No permit needed as per last summer. Anyone who can legally own the gun can have loaded  guns of any type in private vehicle. Including having round chambered.

I thought you could have a long gun in your car as long as one was not in the chamber. Am I missing something?

See above comment. That was for permit holders only, but was repealed, or rather, deleted.

But thread is about having loaded/loadable long guns on the person in general public, which remains unlawful for everyone.

Cool, I didn't realize that was passed.

I see it as actually one of the biggest strides in firearm freedoms in TN since 1870.

It was absurd that TN law already gave you same castle doctrine rights to you in your vehicle as you have in domicile,  yet denied you the wherewithal to enforce as you could in your home, unless you paid for the privilege to do so.
