.22 at mt Juliet Walmart!

Recommended Posts

That's good to see.

News on the local front:  Two Bartlett/Raleigh area Walmart's are in process of re-configuring the Ammo cases.  They have no spaces/stock numbers/pricing tags for .22 of any kind or .22 Mags.  I've know one of the Sporting goods customer service people for years and all he will or can say it is orders from the Top via regional Manager and store manager.  .

There are spaces/stock numbers/pricing tags for both .17 and WSM .17.   Maybe I need one those flat shooters.

Why would a store manager or a regional manager want to sell .17 but not .22? (If that’s what you are implying)

I don't think that what he's implying at all.  Knowing WM and they way they constantly change around the ammo shelves and price tags I can understand the confusion.

That being said I'm sure more than one WM manager has profited handsomely the past 3.5 years of the .22 foolishness.

That's not what I said.  I said they have price tags/slots for .17 nothing for .22.  Since Walmart headquarters sends each store the ammo they want them to have the store manager has no say.

I stopped in to the Walmart in Erwin/Unicoi last week for something else, I always check ammo availability when I'm in a Walmart. There was a fellow stocking the ammo shelf so I asked if they had any .22. His answer was no and they were not carrying it any more. Don't remember the exact words but it almost sounded like no Walmarts were going to carry .22 ammo anymore.

I got the same type of answer at the Collierville WalMart.  I was told that if they get some in it will go on the shelf immediately but they are not keeping tags on the shelf for it. When I asked her if they were going to stop carrying .22 she said they were not going out of their way to get it in but didn't come out and say they were not going to carry it anymore.

I'd take those reports of WallyWorld not carrying .22 with a very large grain of salt.  I suspect that when production catches up with demand, you'll see it in those stores.

I doubt you'll ever see production catch up in the 22 world.

I just came from our Walmart and was talking to the young lady that worked the ammo section. She said that because the space for .22s was always empty, they are using those spaces for other ammo. They are keeping theirs under the counter (when they have some) so you actually have to ask if they have any.
