  1. Vermont recognizes all state permits and is a constitutional carry state, open or concealed for residents and non residents.
  2. Take a look at the ameriglo tritium yellow sight
  3. I have both, Sig is OK, but can't replace my M&P. I tried to like the Sig, has the novelty of changing frames, bbls, caliber, etc., but I believe one is better off just buying another gun in that case. On the other hand, use your Sig, just don't drop it, which is the same rule I have for any gun.
  4. I use the small rechargeable (oven) bags. Put them in the brass I have cleaned in closable plastic jars. no problems.

    Sad day

Sorry.....I know how tough it is. I have lost two best friends. Irreplaceable, and in the future you will always remember them and the good times you have had. However, we should all be so lucky to have friends that have made our lives enjoyable.
  6. try this action:
  7. yes, this is the peak migration period. Just buy some pre-mix and hang a feeder. I've got a buddy that has so many it is not safe to walk in his yard..... He feeds about a gallon of mix a day.
  8. The hard trigger pull will help you in the long run. Learn to shoot well with it and the carry-over to a nice trigger will be evident.
  9. Sounds like a road trip to Bristol or chattanooga. Great price though
  10. I have both and enjoy shooting both. Honestly, I can't tell you I see a big difference, especially shooting IDPA. It may be more in my mind, but I shoot the 5" mostly, and that is the one I put the apex barrel in. Naturally have more $ in it. I use a Dawson FO front, but just put a yellow Ameriglo TCAP on a 4" and will shoot it more now. For 3/4" I don't think it really matters especially if the money is right. IF $ are the deciding factor go 4" and put the extra money in the Apex products for an overall better gun.
  11. I have several M&Ps, all apexed. The 2.0 triggers in the 3 I have shot may be a little better than the 1.0 but not much. I just finished apex on a 2, big improvement. I would get a deal on a standard 1.0 and apex it, including the barrel. I have tried 320s and xdm. Firmly a MP fan.
  12. Take a back-up gun. Nothing worse than one gun going down and having to watch everyone else..........
  13. I have red, white, and green. By far go with the green. Very good sights. The tritium is bright for enough for all situations IMO. Plus night sights are overrated, rarely are we in such a situation given ambient light.
  14. Did you shoot bay 8 at ORSA this month?
  15. Too thick. When you let the native grass grow like blue stem it provides cover but allows birds to run on the ground
  16. why? there are more NDs from dummies than dropping a 320, and they haven't banned dummies yet......
  17. Disagree with your $300 price point. There are a lot of people that aren't gun people that simply want a decent gun but don't want to tie a lot of money up to lay on a shelf or stuff in the sock drawer. We all agree training is important but the reality is that same people won't spend a dime on training either. Heck, they won't even buy a box of quality SD ammo. I hate to sound like a Rep for SCCY but those people are the ones that show up for carry classes and that is why I bought one just to wring out. Honestly the more I shoot it the more I like it. I like it enough that I have bought several for family and friends for Christmas. I wouldn't if I thought they were unreliable or junk. They can be had for around $200.
  18. Remember the military version has a manual safety so a little different unless they drop it without safety on. It is the heavier trigger by mass, not pull weight that seems to be the problem.
  19. yep, if you grow fescue you generally can't grow quail
  20. I would bet Harvey's would make the same deal on a SCCY. Taurus has had some QC issues, plus SCCY CS is tops. Add that they will soon be a local E TN company, that is if he wants a polymer pistol.
  21. SCCY CPX 1 with safety, CPX2 without. Should be able to get one out-the-door for $225. Good shooter, small, 10 +1 capacity.
  22. I take it she is relatively new to clay targets. I would recommend Beretta, Browning, Remington or Winchester gas-operated 26" bbl guns. Best recoil management. One of the biggest problems in new shooters is developing a flinch. These guns should be able to handle light, 1oz loads at around 1150fps and be very easy on the shoulder and cheek. If she likes it and wants to try an O/U then she will have something to compare it to.
  23. sometimes they make it hard to be on their side....just sayin'
  24. I am with you on carrying concealed, but I believe she was concealed; wasn't that a 'sneaky pete' type holster? She was honest and it turned out it bit her. She could have said it was her cell phone, but if pressed could have been a bigger issue.
  25. .let's see, different farming practices, no grown up fence rows, TWRA concerned only about big game, house cats, skunks, coons, foxes, coyotes, hawks, fescue pastures..... all equal to quail have no chance. There is a lonely quail heard every once in a while when I am out, but not like back when
