  1.   Because I paid my money at the cashier, It's my stuff now and personally it is an intrusion and suggestive of wrong-doing.  Why not pat someone down as they leave the store?  Would you stand still for that......it just takes a few seconds.
  2. The HCP class is NOT a shooting class.  One is suppose to know how to shoot and properly operate their firearm before they come to class.  With that said, I always have students which have never fired a handgun before.  I enjoy teaching, especially new shooters, but some folks may be more of a challenge than others.  I do go over the fundamentals of shooting and really anyone that pays attention and can follow simple instruction should be able to clean the target at 3 and 5 yds.  That automatically gives you more than enough of a passing score regardless of what you do at 7 yds.
  3. THIS ^ Test requires a passing score of 70%. I have had a couple of students fail. They did fine when they repeated the course. Case of nerves. The test is simple however, and I don't care which gun you use. Plenty of folks use a .22, just as many use .45s. Most use 9mm, I guess because of popularity.
  4. Take a 2 day defensive handgun class at front sight.
  5. http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/concealed-carry-post-office-may-lead-rude-awakening big discussion about the Post Office carry
  6.   Rarely do I clean my barrels unless accuracy becomes an issue.  I do clean the chamber.  At most I tend to pull a bore snake through it once in a while.
  7. Over the past several years there has been a least a bear a year in the middle of Knoxville. This year have had two in early summer. One trapped and relocated, one hit on I 640/40 interchange area.
  8. You are certainly welcome to use whatever you choose, but for me if I'm out in the woods and see that once in a lifetime buck I want my standard type known deer killin' ammo.  Hopefully that minimizes regrets later.
  9. All enlisted, veterans, officers, and the POTUS are to salute the MOA. I was at a recent event and met two of the recipients where this was explained. It was my honor and privilege to do so as I was having my picture made with them.
  10. I typically carry small pieces of rope, between my teeth, do a calf-rope and try and get it done within 6 seconds.
  11. What in the hell does fact has to do with reporting, or responding?  Just look at Ferguson, MO; a cop could've lost his life to a hoodlum, but the press, the AG, Gov. and everyone else emphasize he was an 'unarmed teen'.  Unarmed people can and do kill people every day.  No one stands up the white victims is THE point.
  12. Might as well add this beating to the list:  http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/09/06/missouri-police-search-for-suspects-in-brutal-beating-caught-on-tape/
  13. Looks like a chance to cause a problem. Then you will ask why.... And I think that is the best scenario with the possibility of others that could be much worse.
  14.     361 yrs ago.......helluva product
  15. This. To me anything bigger than a LCP is not a pocket gun.
  16. So, basically, as a TN resident, one cannot acquire a handgun from a buy, sell, or trade from out-of-state unless it goes thru a FFL ?
  17. So............(3) If the department denies an application, the department shall notify the applicant in writing within ten (10) days of such denial. The written notice shall state the specific factual basis for the denial. It shall include a copy of any reports, records and/or inquiries reviewed or relied upon by the department     SYG.......did the letter not tell you why, as required?
  18. What matters is that : a. I had a gun when I needed it. b. I was justified in its use
  19. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/81362-no-refusal-dui-check-points-this-weekend/page-3 Post 47 by TMF........ Same thing, Right?
  20. I have used a hornady LNL progressive press for several years. Dillon 650 equivalent . Both quality, buy once. Can be ran single stage initially . No need to deprime before cleaning . Cheaper in the long run to wet clean with stainless media. Pay attention to detail. If you are near Knoxville will be glad to give some help.
  21. There is NO Requirement to inform in TN.
  22.   Same here except my competition Pro has the Apex Duty kit .
  23. Over the years, I have found that the quality target loads such as Winchester AA or Remington STS in 7 1/2  will outperform all others.  If you buy cheap shells, ....well you get what you pay for.  Quality shot doesn't deform as much and holds much better patterns.  Young, early season birds may fall a little easier with 'light' hits, especially with the smaller shot size, but the 71/2 will tend to anchor birds more solidly,  if you do your part.
