I've boycotted them for a long time due to their carry policies. This is taking it to a new level. I will continue to not eat their chicken! I don't know where this was, just got the pic and thought that I would pass it on.

Trailers seem to be a hot item for thieves. About 5 years ago I was storing my utility trailer in my grandmothers barn in a rural area. When I went to retrieve it the lock was cut off and lying next to it. The barn is not visable to any road and barely visable from her house. The only thing that I could figure was that it was either the guys that lease the land behind her to hunt (known poachers, IMO thugs) or coon hunters that happened by (I know all of them in the area, nasty bunch.) Thankfully I had neglected to take care of a leaky tire and they were unable to move it, but their intentions were clear. I've thought since then about removing a wheel when storing it long term.

Turn in your assault rifle get a $2000 tax credit
10-Ring replied to 10-Ring's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If for none other this is a horrible idea because of all of the "assault weapons" the government will have on hand to distribute to the Mexican drug cartels. -
Noticed that today as well and thought that it was strange.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-turn-in-an-assault-weapon-get-a-tax-break-20130115,0,3935943.story If this passes I'm going out to the yard to get a stick, then I'm going to paint it black and insist that I get a $2000 tax credit for turning it in. When some government official tells me that said stick is not an assault weapon I will commence beating them until I have a $4000 tax credit.

I see no reason to get any information. I have a personal policy not to sell any of my firearms but if I decided to what repercussions could I face if I didn't get info from the buyer?

I was once diagnosed with depression and prescribed Prozac. I hated it, it turned me into a person who I was not. It made me say and do crazy things. I think that the relationship between these shootings and drugs are something that needs to be looked into. Just as I'm sure of in my own case there are too many doctors out there that are too loose with the prescription pad, they get too many incentives from the pharmaceutical companies for prescribing their drugs. These are the same pharmaceutical companies that let the media reach deep into their pockets so that they insure that information like this will never be released to the ABC, NBC, CBS, and probably FOX viewing public. BTW after about 6 months I got off of Prozac and have not taken an anti depressant in over 10 years. Pretty sure I wasn't depressed in the first place, just a case of a doctor getting a kickback.

getting a Tn state drivers license dumb question
10-Ring replied to Ron Padilla's topic in General Chat
As long as you can write down a local address, have a pulse, and are breathing you shouldn't have any issues obtaining a drivers license. Speaking English is optional as well. -
Link fixed. Going back under my rock inside the cave now!

In the vast amount of time I've wasted surfing the internet I've never seen this site before. Looks like it has tons of useful info. I don't necesarily agree with all of the authors opinions on home defense but none the less there is still lots of good info here. http://www.theboxotruth.com/

So I'm not the only one that has trouble following a conversation on Twitter? Makes me feel a little better.

At what point did we the people start looking to celebrities for their political opinions? It just doesn't make sense to me. These celebrities commonly lack an academic education and/or the "life of hard knocks" education. Generally speaking they are a bunch of spoiled, pampered brats that live a life of luxury and were often times brought up that way. I would want to look to someone who had "been there, done that" and has real life experience when I want a political opinion. I wouldn't ask my barber for advice on building a house, I don't see the point of asking a celebrity what they think about politics.

The confiscation of things like knives makes those liberal sheep feel safe.

I've collected most all I need to start reloading but plan on moving soon and plan to set everything up once I move. Eventually I want to get into casting, I have a source where I think I can get all the lead I would ever want for free. Some quick assessment tells me that if I scavenge brass (already have several friends saving for me) and cast my own bullets I think I can make 9, 40, and ,45 for less than $4 per 50. Honestly I haven't shot anything but .22's very often for the past several years because of the price of ammo. At $4 per 50 I feel that I would pretty much shoot about anytime I feel like it.

Where would you shoot.......head or body
10-Ring replied to chances R's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Just pick the right ammo and shoot for center mass. As has been discussed thoroughly here already head shots are generally more difficult than center mass shots. I've seen the results of a good bit of ballistics testing on just about every popular SD round out there, thanks to a friend that just eats that kind of stuff up. It amazed me how many popular modern SD rounds failed to expand even after going through as little as 2 thin layers of fabric. Some rounds work better than others, he did tell me that Hornaday Critical Duty and Critical Defense both performed very well. -
Sounds like quite an exciting night. Glad you were on top of your game and everything came out good for you. There is no telling what this guys intent could have been. I'm surprised at the lack of caution on the officers, that could have gotten ugly really quick.

Biden: W.H. readies 19 executive actions on guns
10-Ring replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Couldn't find anywhere in the article that lists the 19 actions. Any possibility that is posted somewhere? -

^^^^^^This. If a shooting occurs during class time it could be useful. If the shooting occurred before, between, or after classes I don't think they would be effective. Of course students could duck into the nearest room and lock the door if there were a gunman. I'm certainly not opposing locks on doors. We can't be too careful and God knows money has been spent on dumber things.

There are rumors floating around that Obama will soon sign an executive order concerning gun control. No one knows what is in it and more than likely no one has read it. Sound familiar? Feinstein will be introducing her gun control bill on January 22. Not sure how long it takes for a bill to be voted on. Personally I would be more scared of a ban that targets a little of this and a little of that as opposed to an all out ban on gun which is not expected to be presented and would not have a chance of passing. It is the arguments that can be pleaded to the fence sitters that will get passed (i.e. "No one needs assault weapons, no one needs high capacity magazines, etc.) We have too many people that claim that they support the 2nd Amendment but in reality they only support it with restrictions.

I use a large eraser to clean stubborn burnt powder off of the frame and cylinder. Comes right off without a lot of elbow grease.

Can't wait! Unfortunately I just recently got cable. I watched season 1 on Netflix and thought that we were just starting season 2 tonight but it looks like this is season 4. Hopefully I will be able to grasp what is going on. Another reason I really don't like Netflix.
