Having moved to TN from Utah with 2 kids in college there I keep up with the news. Here is the letter from the Utah Sheriff Organization: http://www.utahsheriffs.org/USA-Home_files/2nd%20Amendment%20Letter_1.pdf It is also legal for people that have a carry permits to carry in most school district in Utah. I lived in the Granite School District and the written policy allows permit holders to keep their gun "readily accessible for immediate use," but bans teachers from leaving their weapons in a desk drawer or coat closet.
Wish that simple concept would catch on here, I would even be fine with a mounted classroom lockbox.

The coffers can use that extra bit of coin right now - thanks Chicago!

I don't use USPS for firearms, I usually only use FedEx - no FFL required. Also on gun broker generally when it's an individual sale you usually see the caveat "make sure your FFL will receive from an individual" otherwise it becomes more of a hassle and cost more to go through your local FFL to the buyers.

Keep a set of lightweight clothes to sleep in only, change before you get in the sack then again in the am. Keep them and your bag dry as possible. Dryer lint for your fire collect a decent amount in a ziplock then mix in some petroleum jelly till you get a lightly sticky mess, this will work wonders starting your fire when damp.
Asking for a quick disconnect mount that will hold your optic tightly enough to hold zero, return to zero, and trust your life on and then complaining about a mark on your rail seems like a little too much to ask. I've had great success with their mounts and other products. If they mark up the rail its up on the underside of the rail where you barely see it anyway. I'm not sure there's a way to mount anything to a rail that will guarantee it will look like you never touched it. American Defense has also been good for me but I think LaRue returns to zero better.
Agree, I had a Larue T1 mount for my benelli M4 and it ate a hole thru the rail section but the rail it turned out was a little spec - all benellis are. It also had about 5k of 00 through it.

DHS Recommends Scissors and Hiding Under Desks To Save Us!
Slpeod replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Keep a broom handle accessible as well so you can convert the scissors into a Pike or spear. Unless that will require an AOW stamp. -
Jeez, buy it - you won't see another that price anytime soon.
-
Looks great but I personally don't like the E2 grip at all, I would have to convert it.
-
Maybe I should unload a few glocks and buy myself that Ducati as well.
-
My wife is the same way - she actually prompts me for Spartacus. Also, yes I have to agree Lucy will still be hot probably at 80.
-
I've been thinking it looked like it might be pretty good, so I'm going to give it a go.
-
Agree, I have the same thing on my truck gun.
-
Just small limbs and such at my house.
http://grrm.livejournal.com/ That's George's, well, NOT a blog... I go there once every few weeks to see what he's up to. It's usually brief and you occasionally get tidbits of story, trailers for the show, etc.
Great, thanks for the heads up and link. Checked it out and like you said - picked up some tidbits.

Skeptical congresswoman challenges Obama to skeet shooting match
Slpeod replied to Slpeod's topic in General Chat
Sorry already posted - http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/59791-way-to-go-marsha-blackburn/ -
They always find some pretty entertaining uses for this video.

Marsha Blackburn, just fired one at Obama. I like her a little more everyday. She questioned President Barack Obama's recent comments about his hobby of skeet shooting, "If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" "I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him." http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/28/dubious-congresswoman-challenges-obama-to-skeet-shooting-match/

Link to Biden's 33 min. fireside chat on gun control.
Slpeod replied to lil*pup's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I can't imagine I would ever want to listen to 33 minutes of that rambling moron. -
I can't believe no one has mentioned Springfield Armory, not the XD but the 1911 line covers pretty much all price ranges and the quality, customer service and reliability is one of the best in the market.
-
Good job and well spoken Mr Ong.
-
Was reading that as well, the article also pointed out how difficult transporting a firearm would become if they let all the local municipalities create their own individual laws. I see the individual politicians stance on gun control becoming a huge piece even at the local elections here very soon.
