  1. Same story, only mine was a couple weeks later.
  2. Both literally and figuratively.
  3. Point taken, but I don't own any of those so there's that. I'm also just speculating since the discussion came up. No reason for me to buy one when I can just slap in a standard mag on my 19 with a Taran +5 and be essentially the same thing. Again, don't agree with the direction they went but I don't have buy or carry one so it's ultimately irrelevant to me.
  4. Chinook Med is the first that comes to mind but there are others like North American Rescue, and Dark Angel Medical to name a few.
  5. It wasn't so much the lack of symmetry for me so much as the half-assed feel.
  6. Index Fasteners is the place to go for kydex, hardware, and related press needs. Not local, but they have everything you need.
  7. Oh yeah, no doubt. Didn't think to mention that. I think the cr123a is 350 lumens and the AA is 150.
  8. Top of my list is Surefire, followed by Streamlight, followed by Fenix. I've had decent luck with the Streamlight single AAA lights in the Protac family. Battery life is ok in them but not great. Right now I'm giving the Streamlight Protac 1L-AA a go since I got it as a Christmas gift. It takes either the CR123A batteries or a single AA. I'm thinking it runs somewhere in the $30 range.
  9. My Rolls Royce mechanic friend has some Lucas stickers on his lift. First one has a car and says "Lucas, inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper." The other has a toggle switch and says "Lucas, the first energy efficient lighting" with the positions being off, dim, and flicker.
  10. I'm disappointed that the joke didn't end with "Lucas" is some form or fashion.
  11. The fact that it's British is enough to make me go "no thanks." I've had my fair share of dealing with British armor, wouldn't want to take a run at that.
  12. I thought the same thing. The only real selling point for that price I'm seeing is increased capacity and standard night sights. Easily at that price in my 43 by the time I added on night sights and extensions to my mags.
  13. Damn necro threads. Didn't even check the time stamps.
  14. I'll admit that I am intrigued.
  15. It started snowing here in Ktown the other morning, thought everyone was about to lose their damn mind over bread and milk.
  16. I don't know what you're talking about, this weather has been great for my evening runs. It's not great when it explodes things at work though.
  17. Somehow I'm really not surprised to hear MPA was involved with that, but it's a unique one none the less. Wish I had snagged more the Suomi drums and mags when they were really cheap a couple years back when I built the three.
  18. You just love building weird things don't you. Fal, Soumi, AK, and what else in that one?
  19. I really think that they thought they would win the contract hands down, despite not meeting all criteria, and started production. Then when they lost, realized they had to dump some pistols. Thus the 19X was born. Then again maybe we'll see separate slides available with longer dust covers to convert to a 17 on the 19 front.
  20. I bought some of the mortar cans with the same thought. Can't move them now.
