  1. Noting has changed with this bill. I guess everyone is cool with LEO’s carrying under the influence. Why don’t we get that privilege?
  2. Truing spoked wheels is a tedious art that requires skill and patience…and a spoke wrench.
  3. You’re not the only one. Having a permit is an exception to the “intent to go armed” language in TN law. Now that permitless is carry allowed it complicates the intent to go armed situation and language. The concept of intent to go armed is not hard to understand at all. What @Worriedmanposted is a good explanation. TN gun laws are in a constant state of flux and change yearly.
  4. Cash price? Not interested myself but I have it’s twin without a scope. I bet if you shot it you wouldn’t want to let it go…they’re that good.
  5. I think some people are not aware that many Savage stocks are plastic. Under certain conditions plastic gets sticky beyond belief. Do wood stocks do that? How does one fix sticky plastic?
  6. What are you talking about and how is it a 2A legislation and politics related issue?
  7. I would agree but the OP and trend is to think “what would you carry”. As such, I’ll throw out the humble Bersa Thunder 22. Great pistol. It’s fun, accurate, and a joy to handle. If one were so inclined to carry a .22 then you could dump 400 grains of lead on target with a quickness.
  8. As of today, 10:15 AM here are the bills and a snippet of the language in question: House Bill: https://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/113/Bill/HB0977.pdf Senate Bill: https://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/113/Bill/SB0827.pdf From Both: SECTION 5. Tennessee Code Annotated Section 39-17-1350, is amended by deleting subsection (c) in its entirety, and is further amended in subsections (a) and (g), by deleting "subsection (c), federal law," and substituting instead "federal law". Current Law (39-17-1350 (c)): 39-17-1350. Law enforcement officers permitted to carry firearms — Exceptions — Restrictions — Identification card for corrections officers. (c) The authority conferred by this section shall not extend to a law enforcement officer: (1) Who is not engaged in the actual discharge of official duties as a law enforcement officer and carries a firearm onto school grounds or inside a school building during regular school hours unless the officer immediately informs the principal that the officer will be present on school grounds or inside the school building and in possession of a firearm. If the principal is unavailable, the notice may be given to an appropriate administrative staff person in the principal's office; (2) Who is consuming beer or an alcoholic beverage or who is under the influence of beer, an alcoholic beverage, or a controlled substance or controlled substance analogue; or (3) Who is not engaged in the actual discharge of official duties as a law enforcement officer while attending a judicial proceeding. As I read the bills and as per the current description of both bills, this does in fact "allow law enforcement officers to carry a firearm when under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances" Am I and the media missing something here? Is the repeal of the above section being removed?
  9. Call Savage and ask what they recommend. Maybe they’ll send you a new one.
  10. What exactly is this? "Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, allows law enforcement officers to carry a firearm when under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances and certain other circumstances; deletes the prohibition on carrying firearms and other weapons on higher education campuses and in parks; prohibits the carrying of weapons in K-12 schools except by certain persons, including any person permitted to carry a firearm under federal law. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13; Title 49, Chapter 6 and Title 55, Chapter 10." https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB0977&GA=113
  11. Good grief. Phone + astigmatism sometimes just doesn’t work out. @gary_boomI know you know where PF is but I might need to start using the big print edition of TGO.
  12. You ain’t from around here, are ya? Pigeon Forge is the hellscape you go through to get to Gatlinburg. It’s where Dollywood is.
  13. FTFY. That book fill your mind with all kinds of ideas if you’re into S&W’s.
  14. The first one appears to be a .38 Single Action 2nd Model (Model 2, 2nd Issue). Manufactured between 1877-1891 with a serial number range of 1-108255. The other might be a .32 Single Action (Mode 1-1/2 centerfire). Those were made between 1878-1892 but it should have a serial number. Are there any markings on top of the barrel? Patent dates and whatnot?
  15. Not a Schofield. Those are big .45 caliber beasts. I’ll pull out the Standard Catalog shortly..
  16. Nobody knows what we shot down but we shot down four something’s and the last three probably could have been handled with guns rather than missiles.
  17. What a clown show this whole thing has become.
  18. Not fancy series with involved plots lines, but there are several excellent shows on PBS everyone should watch that are all Tennessee. - Tennessee Crossroads - Tennessee Life - Volunteer Gardener All excellent and I think a lot of it is available on YouTube.
  19. I’ve become rather keen on inside the Factory. It’s a British show on Smithsonian I think that follows the manufacturing/processing of goods from raw materials entering the factory to finished product exiting with a bunch of history thrown in.
  20. Did y’all know she auditioned to play Mary Ann on Gillian’s Island? Wow, so hot!
  21. …or collect social security and medicare when the time comes.
  22. The U.S. military on Sunday shot down another unidentified flying object over Lake Huron in Michigan. https://www.foxnews.com/us/us-military-shoots-down-unidentified-flying-object-great-lakes-region
