  1. What kind of work does she do with the computer?  Mainly online stuff or are there applications installed on the machine?  How much are you looking to spend.  Is disk storage a consideration/need?   I would definitely get something with Windows 7.  Windows 8 is so far beyond a failure if 9 is not out and back to where 7 is in the next few months Microsoft will loose the corporate/it sphere.
  2. When you make some.   If you mean "View New Content" it works fine, always has AFAIK.    BTW, there's a dedicated forum for Support issues.
  3.   Are you familiar with what it takes to buy one there?  It's a nightmare.   Google about for "Emily gets her gun".  Emily Miller is a reporter for the Washington Post who chronicled her experience trying to buy a handgun through a series of articles in that publication.  It was enough to release a book released several months ago.
  4. Very nice.
  5.   Good to hear.  Now that's all settled, I think you'll really enjoy it.  I know I do mine, even if the dot looks screwy now after staring through your defective one for like an hour the other day.
  6. The /30 does mean the modification of 1930.   However, since it is a .30 caliber rifle if one was "challenged" enough then it could mean that as well.
  7. Sounds like it's more that just a stuck case OS, sounds like the barrel itself is stuck.  CZ 52's are a curious design.   If you actually got the slide of the pistol I would go ahead and remove the firing pin before beating on it in any direction.
  8. I'm thinking loose gas block as well.
  9. The vortex was fun for a little while but now I've got my fill of arctic temperatures.
  10. Check out the "Staynless" primers!
  11.     Six months before he left office the national average was over $4/gallon.  Just saying.  ;)   http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMM_EPM0_PTE_NUS_DPG&f=M
  12. It's something like 58 in Knoxville and I'm still wearing shorts.  When's this "polar vortex" supposed to hit?
  13. Boring.
  14.   No.  It's absurd.
  15. I was told over a month ago at my WM that they would begin putting out ammo at random times.  Still no joy on .22 until yesterday afternoon at about 2:45 pm.  They were in the process shelving 100 round packs of Winchester Super-X, not my favorite and the price was outrageous but it was there.
  16.   There's nothing more irritating than going to load ammo and screwing up a primer.   Tray of 100 primers.  Check. 100 cases ready,  Check   98 rounds loaded.  :wall:
  17. Actually, counterboring does not cut new rifling, it simply removes bad rifling at the muzzle by increasing the bore diameter enough that the bullet does not even touch the barrel for the length of the counterbore.
  18. You might want to slug the bore to find out it's true diameter, as mentioned it may be shot out but you might be able to load to bullets of a greater diameter to compensate.   If you really want to get it clean you can always try science.  I used the electrolysis method explained in the following link on a Mosin once.  It was amazing the amount of sludge that came out of the bore, I literally went through dozens of patches just removing the gunk loosen by the method.   http://www.thedolk.com/borecleaner/index.html   I used a regular steel rod, not stainless, as that's what they had at the hardware store and AA batteries.   Still, I'm not sure you can ever get a clean patch to come out of a milsurp.   Might also check the crown for any nicks or whatnot.
  19. Call Remington.
  20. About that picture of Connecticut gun owners....   Every gun owner in this country will eventually stand in the same line.  There's no stopping it.
  21.   Knox-Vegas isn't all that far away.  I imagine the local contingent can make it worth your whlle if you want to head over for an afternoon of bullshi...shooting.
  22. Very fine looking rifle!     and     shame on you.
  23.   As who?
  24. What are you about?
  25. I was told by the goober at the ammo counter today that they don't carry Federal Bulk 22 anymore, they don't order it, can't get it, all apparently becuase they closed the 3 smelters that make the bullets and the minerals are running out. :shake:   It took every fiber of my being not to reach across the counter and slap some sense into him.   It manage however to get there just as they were putting out 20 100 round packs of Winchester Super Speed 22 lr this afternoon.  :)  The prices are getting ridiculous, even for WalMart.
