This world..... is gonna turn me into a prepper
Moped replied to NwoSlave's topic in Survival and Preparedness
One thing I don't see anyone touching on is sanitation. Take stock into what you need to for pooping and peeing? Even if you BUG IN, how are you going to handle the bathroom? If you are on a gravity sewer system, you are going to need water to flush with, on occasion. Older tiloets might take 7 gallons of water, while most newer models take 2 gallons or less to flush. Where is that water going to come from? What if there is no water in the tap? How ar you going to whip? Etc, etc, etc... -
Can't believe it's not happening now. There's a ton of money to be made. All they have to do is find a middle man, in a allied country, to either buy it and resell it here, or sell them the components and let them manufacture it, them sell it. Could even run the factory for them.
-
Too much money to be made right now. They will work something out, with a middle man somewhere.
-
They'll get around it, by re-head stamping it and selling it to a middle man, who in turn will sell here. Look for it start coming from some place like Turkey or Finland or someplace like that.

Not gonna lie, .380 is hard to come by. Not sure anyone is making it in the US at the moment. They are too busy cranking out 9mm. I still catch .22 on sale at Walmart. It's usually Federal AutoMatch, for $17.99 for 325 rounds.

Loving this thread!!!

Sorry to hear that Erik! I hope he has an easy time of it! I convinced my wife to get her jab earlier this week. So yesterday, I took her and I my youngest to get theirs. My wife opted for the J&J, because we are going on vacation in three weeks, to the plague capital of the US, Florida, and she didn't want a reaction to the second shot, while on vacation. My youngest, got the Phizer, and is scheduled to go back on September17th for her follow up. I also had the Phizer, with no side effects at all. That leaves my son as the only one that hasn't gotten the jab. Going to start working on him now. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer back in May. Her and my dad, both received the Phizer back in March. But I was the only one that could go around her since she started her chemo. And even I keep my distance, because of COVID.

I agree. I bought a Mark 2 back in 82. It was a great quality knife, but really light in the pants for anything other than thrusting. Traded it to a buddy of mine, for my first KABAR. i much preferred the heft of the KABAR. to the Gerber. Much better for general use, in the field, to be honest. Of course the Gerber was really only meant for one thing and that was fighting. That's like comparing a thoroughbred race horse to a plow mule, both will get you from Point A to Point B. The race horse will get you there much faster and you will look sexy doing it. But the mule will plow a field, pull a wagon and drag a tree, while on the way. That was what I found out about the Gerber, in the field. The KABAR was much more useful. But damn, it sure wasn't very sexy.

I never got on the .40 bandwagon, because I was shooting with the ARCOM rifle team and getting all the 9mm and .45ACP I wanted to practice with, so all my pistols were 9mm and .45. I think that if I were to look at a .40 now, I'd step up to the 10mm to be honest.

I decided to trade mine in. In truth, other than the small size, I was not enamored with the LCP and I regret the purchase. I much preferred the Keltec P32, for that size. And I will look for another one of those, in the near future. I gave the P32 to my daughter, who was looking for a small pistol to carry in her jeans pocket. While the P32, the LCP and the LCP-Max are all roughly the same size, the Max is a much more comfortable pistol to shoot, because of the slight increase in grip diameter and length of the grip. The P32, with the .32acp round is a pussycat to shoot, for it's size. Since I bought it, I find myself carrying the LCP-Max more and more, when my wife doesn't carry it. In truth, I might have to buy a second one. One last thing. I used to hate the .380 round over the years. LOL! And I had couple of nice ones. in my youth. A Colt Mustang and a SIG P230. The SIG was shooter, but literally left my right hand shaking from the recoil after a couple of mags. I guess when you get older, your tastes change. Over the last year and a half, I've bought three more! WTH?

You know, when you look at it like that, then why are we concerned with the death rate? It's about that too...

My wife and I drove over to Murfreesboro yesterday afternoon and spent the night. We hit Murfreesboro, Franklin, Antioch, Madison and Goodletsville, before driving up to Ridgetop and Adams. It rained on us most of the morning, before clearing off. Later it started clouding back up in Goodletsville and it was raining as we left Ridgetop. After we left Adams, and got on I-24 to drive back to Knoxville, it poured all the way to North Nashville. Traffic on I-24 was down to 50 MPH or so in several places. We drove in rain until past Lebanon, with sprinkles here and there, past Crossville.

Interesting read. Seems just because you may live in a high vax area, doesn't mean that the hospitals there are not feeling up. And the breakthrough rate for those that are vaxxed is running about 20%. Much higher than was hoped! A majority of Americans in highly vaccinated counties now live in covid hot spots, according to Post analysis (yahoo.com)

You know, I need to get a tuxedo tee-shirt!!! Thanks for the tip! I've also wanted a shoulder holster for it, ever since I got it! Honestly, it's one of the most elegent pistols, I've ever seen! It fit Bond to a tee!

Do any of us? We seem to all be looking for that Unicorn. I don't think it actually exists. Definitely not for me, who rotates through 5 or so pistols, depending on the situation.

A business should be able to run as the owner sees fit and I have the right to tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine and walk when I don’t like their rules, which I have done twice in the past.

Hawkins School District in Church Hill, TN on Lock Down
Moped replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
I remember getting bomb threats as a little first grader at Boones Creek, in Washington County, back in 1969. We even had them when I was in High School and later on during Finals at UT. Those were funny, because the University would evacuate the building wait for the deadline to go by and then send everyone right back in. They never bothered searching the building. -
That's just wrong. I'm vaccinated, but I believe in everyone's right to do with their bodies as they will. This is just another case of driving a wedge between different groups. I seriously think that people are subconciously itching for some sort a civil war.

That's ridiculous!

That's why I said it depended on the situation. I like all of them. I even carry my Walther PPK from time to time, just so it doesn't feel unloved!

Chamber empty, safety off, trigger pulled already. Just need to rack the slide.

Dang! You all are making me want my Norinco back. It was stolen about 15 years ago, in a burglary of our house. It was one of the best shooting .45s I've ever owned! If I'm not mistaken (and I could be), the Cimarron is a copy of the 1911 and not the 1911a1. Most 1911s were converted after WWI, into 1911a1s. So when you run across one, they are not cheap!!!
