  1. My Small Gun Rotation is a Ruger LC9S Pro, a XDs .45acp, a S&W 442, a Walther Stainless PPK and a Ruger LCP for when I need a really small pistol. It used to be a Keltec P32, that I "lent" to my daughter... I'll never see that one again. Currently, I'm carrying the XDs .45ACP. My wife is carrying the LC9S.
  2. It depends on the situation. When I hike, I almost always carry a .357 revolver. But when running around doing errands, I carry a semi-auto. One of those cheap plastic ones that take little skill to produce, but shoot great and don't pull my pants down around my ankle. I'm not a fan of suspenders...
  3. I'm glad you answered that. It was something I wondered about for a very long time now. Great answers, too,
  4. I usually carry one of three pistols, a S&W 442 with two speed strips, a Walther PPK with two extra mags or a Ruger LC9S Pro with two extra 9 round mags. I see no reason to carry anymore than that.

    Oops! Wrong thread!
  6. I'm sorry, but I had to laugh. I know that it wasn't funny at the time, but... That sounds like something my wife would also do... or she'd take great pleasure in pulling it out and causing me pain...
  7. That would be my recommendations.

    Keltec P-50

Keltec is one of the most frustrating companies! They come out with interesting designs, but damn, you can never find them in shops!
  9. Change to a bit heavier recoil spring for 230 gr. Ball, if you can handle the harder racking slide. This is my next purchase! The ones I’ve handled seem to be great pistols! Especially for the money!
  10. Beautiful knife!
  11. I don't think that's been proven, that's it's rare. It seems the antibodies will work for a short time period, but then you can get it again. And from what I've read, the second time around is much more deadly.
  12. DA .357. I actually carry a S&W 442 on all my hikes. I’m not as concerned about 4 legged predators, as I am the two legged kind. That being said, I’m stepping up to my Taurus 627 Tracker with a 4” barrel, starting soon.
  13. Back in the day, I don't think the mags dropping free was a desirable feature. They wanted them to eject about a half inch or so. Less chance of losing a mag in the heat of battle. and empty mag can be reloaded. A lost or damaged mag, can effectively make a semi-auto, a single shot. Europe was especially slow about adopting a drop free mag. Remember the original Glocks didn't drop free either.
  14. Actually no! I have a Ruger 10/22 BackPacker in layaway. https://ruger.com/products/1022Takedown/specSheets/21182.html
  15. I stopped in at my LGS this afternoon and paid on my Layaway and I fella was buying a new .357 single action and he bought a box of .38 wadcutters. I think this is also a part of the shortage. You got to figure that a new purchase is getting a box of shells too, if they can get them.
  16. I was noticing that trend in Knox County last month too. I stand corrected. Since I last reported the Stats in Knox County, on Jan. 23rd, there have only been a 120 deaths reported. The two weeks prior to that, there were 70 deaths. So that number has come down too!
  17. When I was fat(ter), I used to buy the RK jeans. They're cheap, but they never really fit right and their dang zippers are too short. Since Knoxville gota Duluth store, I've been buying more and more of my cloths there. Haven't tried the jeans yet, but that's coming, I can already tell. Till then, I will stick to my Wrangler jeans, Megallen hiking pants and Key overalls. I will say Duluth has the best boxer briefs coming or going. They are very proud of them, so when I catch them on sale, I buy a pair or three. Boys, you got to try a pair of these!!! https://www.duluthtrading.com/men/underwear/boxers-and-briefs/dang-soft/?msclkid=d8f90e1639e41ba86f376e5020d9b950
  18. That group will get the job done! Nice pistol!
  19. We had to chant that in the mess hall.
  20. I had one that was stolen in a breakin back in 07. It was one of my most favorite pistols. It was a MkIII. TIsas is making a blue version and a stainless steel version. Both are great looking pistols. I’ve thought of trying to find one.
  21. I’m tempted to go back and get the Sauer... but I need to get the Backpacker layaway out first. I’m very tempted!
  22. I’ve seen photos, but never one in real life, until now. This one was a beaut!
  23. Me too! This was the first time I got to handle one! It was very comfortable in the hand! And I didn’t realize they were a hammer fired striker. You could cock this one and the striker was attached to the hammer. Just really interesting! But that Sauer 1913! It’s a great looking pistol! Every bit as nice as this one! https://images.app.goo.gl/A114jrHULUtp67yX7
  24. I think several here have them. I looked at a couple today at my local LGS. One is the new Shopkeeper and the other was a little 4" ,22LR with a birdshead grip. That one I'd like to have. They're neat looking little pistols. I'm not a fan of the safety that comes on them, but I doubt I'd ever have it on, anyway. I would also pick this over the Wrangler, for the same reason, being able to get a .22mag cylinder for it.Just makes sense.
  25. Went to my LGS this afternoon to pay on my Ruger 1022 BackPacker. While there, I perused the pistols and saw a couple of great old pistols. First up was a Savage 1907 .32ACP. with an extra mag. It showed some blueing wear, but was in great mechanical condition. The second pistol, was a GEM of little pistol! It was a J.P. Sauer and Sohn Sulh 1913 .32ACP. Both were purchased from an estate sale. The Sauer blueing was in great condition. Honestly, I believe it was shot very, very little. It looked like an almost new pistol. to be so old! If anyone in the Knoxville area is interested in checking out these fine old pistols out, they are at Crossroads Firearms on Broadway, in Fountain City. I'd post representative photos of these two pistols, but I find posting pictures here an exercise is frustration, so you all can DDG them and check them out.
