I actually wouldn't mind owning one of those!  I wouldn't pay more than $400-$500 for it though.  Anymore and you could just go by a Sportical or something along those lines or build an AR.  I like it much better than the Mini 14, but I like a sharp stick almost as much as I like a Mini-14.  There aren't a lot of semi-autos in .223/5.56x45.  It's nice to see another one out there.

Not a big fan of John Sevier.  Takes for ever to check in, through TWRA's system and the RSOs, as stated earlier, are a strange breed. I joined out at Norris at the first of July and I love it there.  I've found I'm usually alone.  I've never seen more than 5 or 6 people there.  It's well kept too.  Best $40 I've spent shooting ever!

If I could only pick one, it would be a Glock 17.  However, it's not what a carry now.  For the last month I've been carrying a Taurus PT111 Milennium G2.  It's eaten everything I've put through it in it's 200 round break in period, with no problems, what so ever!  It's fast becoming my favorite small pistol!  I like it better than even the Colt Agent .38 Spl that I had!

I've never had a Rossi either, but I have family and friends that do.  All of their revolvers have run flawlessly (as a revolver should).  The triggers always seemed a bit rough and the fit and finish was head and shoulders below a Smith & Wesson or a Ruger. But they are no where near those in price either.   However, this is a thread about the Taurus PT111 Millennium G2, not a Rossi Revolver, even though both companies are owned by Braztech. :)

I got a new pistol in a trade last night.  It's a NIB Taurus PT111 Millennium G2.  It came with the box, paperwork, two 12 round magazines, keys for the safety lock (which also doubles as a sight adjustment tool), a box of 115gr ball and one box of frangible ammunition, 2 custom leather holsters (one IWB and one belt).   It has a black polymer frame with a matte black finished slide.  The fit and finish were top notch.  I don't think there is a shiarp edge or corner anywhere on it!  The grip is very positve and seemed as if it was made for my hand.  I really liked it! It has the industry standard 3 Dot sights, which are adjustable for both elevation and left and right. There a loaded chamber indicator on the top of the slide. It also has a frame mounted safety located on the left side (ala the 1911A1).  I found it easy to use.   I took it to the range this afternoon and shot a couple of boxes through it.  The pistol performed flawlessly and was accurate .  At 15 yards, I was able to keep it in 3 to 4 inch groups.  I found this to more than acceptable from a 3.2 inch barrel, in a major caliber.  Muzzle flip was less than my Glock 17.  Accurate double taps were easy to achieve with it.   This is my first Taurus and it might not be my last!  I was totally impressed with it's performace!  I still want to put a couple of hundred more rounds down range with it, but for this outing, I was most impressed and at this point, I would recommend this pistol for anyone looking for a compact 9mm!  I was looking at the prices for this pistol.  Bud's has them starting at $302!  I think that's a great deal!!!

A better question is, who actually uses the lock on their pistol.  I have two pistols that have the locks and they have never been used. I don't even have the keys for one.

Yeah, I still got that waistline too, though I've lost 62 lbs since the first of the year. :)  I'm getting ready to move down another pant size too.  Might mean the PF-9 won't ride there anymore.  I don't know, but it is a small pistol.

It's a rifle in .223.  I'm afraid the movement of the cover would affect the rifle.  I have seen some after market receiver covers set up with a rear receiver.  Probably should check them out.

Are you carrying it in your front pocket?  Does it not tend to pull the pocket open or your pants down?  I carry Kel-Tec PF-9 in my front pocket and as light as it is, it still tends to pull my pocket open.  I really have to tighten my belt up too.

I would love to have a peep on my Saiga.  I'd also like to move the sight back to the rear of the receiver, but I'm afraid the receiver cover would move around too much.

It really depends on what kind of camping you and your wife want to do.  We have a family of 6 (with the future son-in-law). We dump/car camp.  If all of us go, we take a large Coleman Evanstan and a Kelty 4 person tent.  We also take a Eno Double Nest Hammack and a lightweight polypro tarp.  Both are mine for backpacking, but my son usually claims the hammack when we are just camping. We also have sleep on air mattresses.  No sleeping on the ground anymore for me.  I'm too old.  Besides, I have nothing else to prove.  I know I am a wimp.  :D   I'm not one that is much on small tents, especially when it's raining and I'm stuck in a tent.  For three or four of us, the Evanstan is perfect, for two queen sized air mattresses.  We also usually hang a large polyurethane tarp over the top of the tent for added rain protection, so we bring plenty bungee cords and jute twine with us.  The kelty will handle one queen size air mattress. I usually just use a sleeping bag or quilt in the hammack.   We got the Coleman Evanstan on sale at the Coleman outlet store in Sevierville, (next to the New Bud's Guns ;) ).  The Kelty came form REI and we caught it on sale too.  REI and Sierra almost always run a sale on the weekend.  Just go on their website.

Well, I'll throw my 2 cents in and say end it now.  It will hurt... actually, I'd say it already has hurt.  Best thing you can do is get out now.

One of the best feeling and shooting pistols I've ever fired!  The one I got to shoot wasn't 9mm.  It was 7.65 Parabellum.

I'd like to see Rossi come out with this rifle chambered in .357/.38.  I would definitely look at buying one!!!
