Sorry you had problems, here is what I do, my ffl allows me to copy his paperwork and fax or e-mail to the dealer I am purchasing from. It sort of cuts out the middle man. I don't know what the problem is with a lot of local gun stores that act like you are doing them a favor by going into their store. My house has a heat pump and the repairman that checks it twice a year said to call them out if it switched to emergency heat, he said we would have to float a loan to pay the electric bill. Thas is why my old Ashley wood heater does most of the work when it is cold and I didn't let it get out of wood.

I would have loved to see his face if Mrs. Caster had pulled out a .44 Dirty Harry special and asked him "Well punk do you feel Lucky?" I bet she would have gotten a lot better set of results!! Just saying. Off topic a bunch but several years ago 35 or so there was some guys following another couple of guys and the first guy got tired of it and slid sideways on the gravel road and pulled out a .44, the dummies in vehicle # 2 actually got out of the car and started walking towards them until 1 shot was fired a foot above suspect #1. They then ran back to their truck and hauled A$$ out of there. True story told by a good friend who was witness in vehicle #1.

Bersaguy, My idea on the ozone hole is it is/was caused by a bunch of hot air blowing idiots in Washington, D.C.!! Now I don't have any expert witnesses, but just my observation from where I see it!!

Every time I see those forecasts  for single digits or below and all the snow and ice, I just hope all them idiots that believe in global warming or climate change freezes their butts off. The thing that makes me furious is the fact that the E.P.A. and other gooberment agencies are going to make us pay thru the nose for something that we didn't cause. A few years back I heard them wanting to get the co2 level to a point lower than it is naturally occuring. In other words it is impossible to get it to that low of a point. All the Earth's volcanoes put out far more CO2, H2S and other noxious gasses than all our Chevy's and Fords could ever attain. But ol Gorey is making money hand over fist because he invented the internet. He is only slightly smarter than the idiot Biden!!

I have read many threads on this subject and I really believe if you aren't where you intend to be you probably won't get there. I know all about bugout locations and such, but on your way home tomorrow, imagine something bad happened and you are stuck in the worst traffic jam you have ever seen. Now how is your $100K + 4x4 or 6x6 going to get you to your destination to begin your journey to you BOL. Just think how a simple traffic accident can clog up the interstate or 2 lane for hours. Now take that number of immobile vehicles and multiply by 1,000 or more and you get the gist. I recently was reminded that a few pairs of good hiking-walking boots or shoes would be the best method of mobility. Sorry to bust any bubbles, but although both my vehicles are 4x4 and I have a 4x4 Kawasaki Mule, eventually I will be on foot. Best of luck to us all if a SHTF scenario comes our way.

try a hipoint carbine they make 9mm, .40 and .45 cal. I have a .40 and it is a 100 yd+ gun. It amazes me that it is dead on with plinking ammo. The only drawback is the 10 rd. mags.

MM, co2 can buildup with any heater that burs fuel. I am going to make a rocket heater. Get on YouTube and check it out.

Thanks for all the info, I have bee contemplating one to put in my garage for some lights and to charge my cordless tools. I got to thinking about when we were out of power for 12 days during Katrina that I could do without a lot of electrical devices, but 2 things electrical I like is charging my tools and ice. We bought a counter ice maker at Sam's for right at $100 and I even tried and made ice in my pickup running off of the inverter. Btw it works like a champ, will make you ice in 6 minutes.  Ice just makes tea and water so much more palatable!! Solar is like a lot of other preps in that they may or may not be used much or be beneficial, but it is sort of like having a gun and not needing it.

Sam the only thing if a Catholic or Baptist was doing it, it wouldn't be because of their religion because unless somebody can show me in the Bible it doesn't ask me or you to kill others to please God. Congrats, I did it 42 days ago and it is nice. I tell folks I have 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday every week. No more M-F. I was going to hold out until January, but it wasn't any fun anymore and a fellow told me years ago that was when it was time to hang it up. I don't even think about the crap that used to be on my mind in the middle of the night or when I was hunting or fishing. I had some people tell me prior to retiring that it wasn't what is was cut out to be. Well I say BS!! On a related subject, you would be surprised at all the reefer trucks that also haul Hazmat products. I was in the chemical industry and we would get loads in all the time in boxed reefer trucks and I asked several of the drivers about hauling Hazmat and they just said "hey it's a load". So nice to know the lettuce or other foods you eat have been in the same confined space as a bunch of Hazmat chemicals!!

I am not an expert, but from what I understand if he/she is a good Muslim they hate and want to either convert or kill everyone that isn't a Muslim. So I don't understand the "radical" vs. the peaceful Muslim. And for this to be labeled work place violence is a joke. Wake up America.

This may sound dumb, but just because it is a new switch doesn't mean it works. The black wires are they hooked up like the white one as around a screw and not the type that inserts? If they are make sure they are stripped far enough and are making contact. And this is not being mean, but also make sure the light bulb is good. Crazier things happen. Hope this helps, Mac Also make sure it hasn't thrown a breaker or blown a fuse, in other words make sure you have electricity at the switch.

Congrats. I have 2 close friends that are machinists and I will tell you that every town will always be in need of a machinist. You can take your Kennedy tool box and go anywhere in the country and get a job, or at least you used to be able to do that.
