  1. Okay I will chime in, I too don't like any taxes however sales tax is the most fair. If you don't buy a $50,000 pickup truck you don't pay the sales tax. But the federal income tax was never ratified and is illegal. It was supposed to be a tax to business taxing only their profits. We that work for a living do not profit, we trade our time and expertise for money, but we don't make a profit on that time!!!
  2. Thanks TDR I appreciate the info. Will continue praying for him. Nothing like getting old!!!
  3. Hey  dats82, I didn't personally see it, but a good friend did. A gun show in New Orleans early last year .22 bricks $250. A local auction house .22 bricks went for $250 also early last year. Lots of gun shows in Ms and Fl they went for $125 a brick. They can keep them and put them where the sun don't shine!!!
  4. Read this on another site so take it with a grain of salt. A guy living in Nebraska heard that a Cabela's gun clerk asked a Hornady manager that was there about the .22 shortage vs. new guy buyers and the Hornady guy said they expected 2 years before it got back to normal.
  5. I read about Tankers medical problem last week, anyone heard how he is doing?
  6. Tanker hope you get to feeling better. Yep old age ain't for the faint of heart, ya got to be pretty gritty!!
  7. Must have lots of flats or practicing for a job with Nascar!!
  8. The best time to shop wally world is 4-6 on any morning, Sunday is best. I ain't standing in line if they are handing out $100 bills, I have NO patience!! I am like Dennis, why have the 20 item or less line as nobody notices the sign.
  9. In case you aren't aware the EPA is the worst enemy of the U.S.A. far worse than Russia or China ever thought of. That is why diesel fuel is so expensive because the EPA made the sulfur content so low they have to refine it twice to remove enough of the sulfur to meet the regs. Mexican trucks don't have all the DEF fluid and all the other crap on it? I don't have a college degree, but I did learn that this planet has an enclosed atmosphere. The air we breathe is the same that Mexican trucks and Chinese trucks polluted it with. So why is it that we have to bear the burden of keeping the planet clean??? The supertankers that bring crude oil from the middle east burn crude oil on the open ocean and switch to diesel when they get closer to land. Okay I will stop ranting now, not much use anymore.
  10. Okay this is a guess, but looks like a hickory to me. Rip me some 1" slabs and I can turn them into loading blocks. Pretty nice lookin wood!! Somehow that sounds wrong. How about the grain and color of that tree looks nice!!
  11. Guys this is one of the reasons I have no NRA, Mossy Oak or any other sticker or tag on my vehicles that say I hunt, shoot, fish, or whatever. I guess I need to put a golfing sticker on to make them leave me alone. I have heard that thugs see you driving with all the "gun" stickers on and follow you to work or home and know you have something worth stealing. Spots you handled it well and being aware of your surroundings is crucial.
  12. Hey Rugerla 1 I said that line once and a welder that I didn't know told me. " I think you got screwed on both counts". I told him he didn't have to be so honest!!
  13. If I were a betting man I would wager that most of the Wally World .22 ammo is getting sold to LGS's who then jack up the prices.
  14. Got a friend in Florida told me his gun shop got a half a million dollar order in and guess what NO 22lr. I got him a brick for starters anyway.
  15. Prayer sent for him and your family.
  16. Sorry Glock55 but for certain you would have to change that name! LOL Shoot I have to be good to my kids and grandkids so they will take care of my sorry but when I sure enough get old.My oldest grandson is getting a camo Ruger 10-22 that is sure to get me a few brownie points.
  17. The story I got from the guy is a friend won it in a raffle and sold it to him so I am pretty sure it is a factory gun. Hey Runco, if I was an expert I wouldn't be asking ya'lls advice. LOL On some things I just like another opinion as I have been stuck in the past and it never feels real good to find out later. Thanks Mac
  18. Hi guys, I am going to buy my adult son an AR for Christmas. I had planned on a new S&W M&P but ran across a local deal of a used Bushmaster XM-15E2S flattop that has collapsible stock, leapers red dot, aftermarket handguards, foregrip with light and maybe bipod, sling and 3 mags. Also included in deal is 400 rounds of PMC Bronze ammo and 220 rounds of Wolf steel cased. He is asking $1,000 and although I think it is a good deal I am having a hard time deciding. I want your opinion so I don't have buyers remorse, or better yet I can put part of the blame on you. LOL Thanks Mac Also does anyone know how to check an upper to see what brand it is or anything, most I see don't have any marking.
  19. The moral to this story my friends is to live far enough in the woods that "you" are 911!! There is a war on drugs like I am a brain surgeon. But I can stop the drug problem real quick. 2 forms of punishment, caning and hanging. If the first punishment doesn't FIX the problem the 2nd one will. No prisons, just small local jails. It will work, but the mamby pamby ACLU and such wouldn't hear of such brutal forms of punishment, and here we are.
  20. Well I may as well chime in. I too wanted a Kel-tec, and this was a couple of years back. Well saw one on GB and called the guy and asked is this a pos or what. He said he had a 9mm and it was his most fun gun to shoot. I bought a 4095  .40 cal and it is a blast. I sighted it in at 50 yards and I was happy, then 1 day I decided to shoot it at 100 yds, this is with my cast bullet plinking reloads. They will headshoot an IPSC target at 100yds. and that is good enough for me. I would prefer a higher cap mag, but I can live with 10. I also torture tested this out of the box, I didn't clean or lube it and shot 100 rounds with no malfunction. Before you berate them, go borrow one from a friend and I bet you will buy one.
  21. Hi guys saw some cheap priced AR's and wonder if anyone has heard of them? Thanks Mac
  22. I don't think it is a localized thing. I live in S.E. Mississippi and this whole year I saw 22lr and 22wmr at a wally world the day before Thanksgiving with a limit of 1 box per caliber 3 box total limit. We have regular pistol and rifle ammo most of the time. I saw and bought 3 boxes of cheap thunderbolts at $29 tax included in Alabama in May, the lady at Wally world said it was their 1st shipment of bulk 22 for the year. It ain't over not by a long shot. It wouldn't surprise me if it took 3-5 years for it to come back around. I hope I am wrong.
  23. How about 4 track tapes that was pre 8-track, my wife was a keypunch operator, the #3 washtub on the back porch was our Hot tub, going to the Western Auto and buying a box of 22 shorts for $0.29 and I was 9 and no-one questioned that. The way I heard the balls floating in the bathtub was if they floated like a cork you couldn't get the job done anymore. That is the family version of it anyway. I prefer my dimmer switch on the floor and the starter button on the floor also. I also prefer a POTUS and congress that gave a crap about this beautiful country.
  24. Thank you LORD!! Great news TDR, hope all is well. Will continue to pray for your family.
  25. Hey guys I work with chemicals everyday. A warning against any drum or tote is to be perfectly certain that it was used with a  food grade product, I would need to see a label and a MSDS before I used it for water to drink. I asked our supplier the other day how much a bottle that is the plastic container inside the cage cost and it was $95 new however it was not rated as for potable drinking water, the materials are FDA compliant but he said the grease that was used on the valve wasn't so they couldn't be listed as good for potable water. Also plastic HDPE type that drums, pails and totes are made of are porous and if any "bad" stuff has been in them it could leach out for years. Please be careful with used containers. I plan on having some under my gutter I will install on my barn, but use the water for garden if needed. Stay safe!!
