  1. I'll be honest, I have no clue. Initially I want to say that vendors took a stand against the NRA. Realistically though...they stand to make money and advertising time...so I dunno. The pandemic may have put a lot of them out of business. Or maybe import bans? Dunno. By the way, I saw lots of wheelchairs and hover rounds. They actually had a lot of space at the event.
  2. This is my 4th time attending (Nashville, Louisville, Atlanta, Indy). Honestly... You guys didn't miss much. A lot of missing cool vendors. The swag was almost non-existent. No booth babes as well (just an observation).
  3. Hear you there. I paid the $35 or whatever it costs just for a 1 year specifically to get in the door. I figure I would spend that much at a movie, bowling, or whatever... So why not
  4. I don't attend any of the speeches, I'm just here to look at guns and gear.
  5. We all have our feelings about the NRA's direction... But it's a chance to check out all the new toys. @BigKnd i kept tradition and made the drive to Indy. Anyone else here?
  6. I get quality 1000%. But I'm not a fan of "top of the line or nothing". I bought this Fenix pd35 years ago, on a whim. I'm not kidding when I say I've beaten the literal hell out of this thing and it keeps on going! It's most certainly chinesium...but man it's rock solid. I would trust my life with it, no doubt. For that alone, I can't justify $300+ on a local brand. However, I don't begrudge anyone who does.
  7. This is the upgraded version of my first carry light. Sadly, the weak clip caused me to lose it. Otherwise, great little light.
  8. right? Is it that easy? As of today, I'm famous for good looks and winning personality. Let's see how this pans out.
  9. I'm 43 and grew up in middle TN. Where did Nashville hot chicken come from??? Suddenly one day.... *poof* Nashville is famous for it's hot chicken! meanwhile me:
  10. Honestly, I wish they had been smarter than to boot them entirely. Remove them from session, perhaps a warning of some type. Continued disruptive behavior can result in removal, blah blah blah. But booting them makes martyrs. This is playing right into their hands. I'm also fully convinced that this is the best outcome for liberals as they would LOVE to flip this state. Personally, and this is conspiracy on my part, but i think they're making liberal states/cities miserable enough to get people to move out and disperse into red states. Booting out elected officials is a perfect way to get liberal minded folks wound up and voting blue again.
  11. Man.... you had to remind me of The great pizza orientation test didn't you. Every now and then, something makes me drag out this article and I get tickled every time. I think it's the absurdity of it all. Wow this story is old. None pizza with left beef..... classic
  12. Surefire is Latin for: "Too ***** expensive for what it actually does". Fenix fan here. I bought a PD35 2014 model when it was first released. I've dropped it, submerged it, it fell out of my wrangler once doing 45mph. 2023 and it's still kicking. Got a PD36 this past Christmas. It's solid as well. Since I have rechargeable batteries for both, i just use them till they die (which isn't often) and swap out while the other charges.
  13. I think he meant that sarcastically. Fudge 'em, you and your F's (or lack thereof) are welcome here.
  14. Definitely not knocking it sir. I just wanted to hear a story where someone ate it without meaning to.
  15. Please let there be a story here involving unintentional consumption of snapping turtle. please....
  16. Just shop at Nortons
  17. That's a heck'uva win sir. Good looking piece. Now... what's she plotting on you?
  18. Does idiot with chainsaw count?
  19. Never found anything i want a price i'm willing to pay at DT McCall. I always hear of people landing some amazing deal. never once actually seen it. And yes, I've been often
  20. I haven't been in about 5 years. It was a clean, modern facility. Expensive honestly. They had an RSO at the time that just said hello and let me shoot without playing at being "smartest man in the room". I can appreciate that. The only real catch was that they charged a fee if you shoot plastic hanger they issue you. I think it was $8 per hole or something? No clue if they still do that. If you're a decent shot it's not a problem.
  21. I know several folks who've had to put in fans because their crawlspaces tested high. welcome to TN, home of the half-life. Radon is crazy because it'll find its way into your water lines and you'll literally shower in it. I'm no expert but I don't think it matters if you have slab or crawlspace
  22. hahaha @ that managled shell casing down the tube.
  23. True, but crap does happen. I took took a couple to the range awhile back with a .380 and a 9mm. The husband decided to reload a mag while the wife was asking me questions. I just happened to glance back and realize he was loading .380 into my 9mm. luckily I caught him
  24. Ok, thinking this through. User inserts the mag and racks the slide. The .40 is slung into the barrel. Now you have a closed breach with no round loaded. So they would have to rack the slide another time to get the .45 in there. I guess you could have really crap luck that the .40 stays in the barrel?? I guess you could then fire it and maybe there's a weak point in the barrel that makes the expansion just vent down. It could happen, right? who knows.
  25. yup, it's whatever will keep them profitable in the public eye. imagine if they didn't do anything and the entire media circus came after them.
