  1. RMR is good to go. Great prices, great customer service and very quick shipping. I have bought from them several times but not their lead options. I would not hesitate to try them though. Their fmj/plated/pull options are all excellent.
  2. Check AH Reloading over on 4th Avenue. His hours vary so I always call before heading over. Pretty sure I saw some CCI 250s there the other day.
  3. Which model will depend on your intent. Just target shooting, 10, all weather hunting, 16. From SavageShooters: 10/110 = Sporter (old designation, now 10/110 is designation for the Law Enforcement Series) 11/111 = Sporter (new designation) 12/112 = Varmint Series 14/114 = Classic Series (same as Sporter Series but High Luster Blue and Nicer Wood Stocks) 16/116 = Weather Warrior Series (SS Actions, barrels, and Synthetic Stocks) 25 & 40 = Lightweight Varmint Series (these are a totally different Action Setup) Axis = Entry Sporter ( Different Action and Stocks, Sporter Style with DBM only) The letters in the model mean things too. Examples: B - boyds stock F - synthetic stock C - detachable box mag P - police L - left hand model V - bull/target barrel S - stainless barrel HS - HS stock SR - suppressor ready
  4. Some of the stuff online says Aero makes the PSA receivers as of a few years ago. I know there are only a handful of true forgers so very likely. PSA is good to go although I have been eyeing an actual Aero receiver set so I have a different rollmark in the safe.   As stated it basically comes down to which rollmark you like the best on the side, as long as you are talking about a forged lower.   If considering polymer or hybrid, even though the lower basically just holds the mag and FCG and not stressed during firing you still need to consider stress that would be impacted if you had to ever hit something with the buttstock (mortar the weapon, hit a barrier or person for some reason) as these will not hold up as well.
  5. I really could use it for my 6.8 loads (ARP 6.8x43 barrel which is different chamber than even the already non SAAMI certified 6.8 SPCII), but have not justified the cost yet. I've been trying to read brass pressure signs which can be dangerous, and cross referencing with "safe" loads published on the 6.8 forum (starting under and working up).    I have looked at Quickload and used the demo. Very cool software, maybe will purchase it this year. Always too many things on the list....

Adding: Falling Skies Defiance Will second The Strain, I have enjoyed it and should be starting back this summer.
  7. Strategic Edge down in Chapel Hill is the best around. Have to be a member or a guest of a member to shoot (guests are limited to 2 visits). I heard last weekend though that membership is currently filled but the membership year starts over this summer so can check back. 1250 yard range if you have something to take advantage of that distance.
  8. It was the January Guns & Ammo magazine, article about this new Shield version. I cannot find a link to the article online though.
  9. Have used it in 9mm and .45acp. Have a couple of pounds sitting here but I typically use Titegroup because I have a good stash. Clean shooting and accurate powder although I have never seen copper fouling in a pistol barrel so that feature is questionable.
  10. Not a M3500, but I own the Stoeger P-350. Nice shotgun, designed for turkey hunting but mine came with a field barrel and chokes, as well as standard stock and pistol grip version. I haven't handled the M3500 but if it is as nice as the P350 I would go that route. Been very happy with mine and the 24" barrel is still short enough to be a home defense weapon if needed.
  11. One of the magazines had a review within the past few weeks. Guns, Guns & Ammo, will try to find it.   Looks interesting, but basically only difference is porting and sights if I remember right.
  12.   I looked at it, thought about it, and put my phone back down. It was tempting at that price but is an unknown. I just looked up the Blazer line and they are a polymer receiver, haven't dug into further details or reviews.
  13. If anyone needs a cheap .22 rifle, Mossberg Blaze for $100. http://palmettostatearmory.com/catalog/product/view/id/23920/s/mossberg-rifle-blaze-22lr-kryptek-highlander-16-5-25rd-37319/
  14. No expert by any means, but I looked at a NiB-X model a couple of months ago. My understanding is someone, usually FailZero or WMD, buys the pistol from Glock and coats them. It is not a "factory" finish. They look good but I've read mixed reviews on how the coating holds up over time with holster wear, solvents, etc. Edit, to clarify the wear comment, not that the coating flakes off but it "stains" and becomes discolored. Some NiB BCGs will also stain to give you an idea of what you may encounter.
  15. Man, how did I miss this? I left around 12:30 yesterday. I thought I heard full auto coming from the pistol bay as I was packing up (spent a while at the pistol bay then went over to rifle for a bit). Didn't have factory ammo anyways but would have been nice to meet you and see that collection.

Ah, Lost. That show felt like a major waste of time once I finished it. It was a good show though. What else have you watched? I know these are on Netflix: Breaking Bad American Horror Story Dexter Sons of Anarchy Mad Men House of Cards (I haven't been able to watch this yet, still on my list but have heard great things).
  17. A 19 MOS would be interesting. A G41 MOS is on my list for 2016 if things work out. It would be a range toy primarily.
  18. Yes they are. I bought two G19s (Gen 4s) this year, one made in Austria and the second stamped Made in the USA. Repeating most of the comments, I think this is a good move. Accurate, durable, lightweight, great sidearm option.
  19. Meant to add this the other night - direct link to signup for the Visual Studio Dev Essentials and get the Pluralsight training. Offer expires on 12/31/2015.   https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-dev-essentials-vs.aspx
  20. I finally got to go see it tonight. Walk away impression, Meh. It was a good movie if you weren't a fan of the franchise. My wife has never fully watched the 3 original films and she thought this one was great. I am not a die hard like Caster but I read several of the books when I was younger and feel that this movie could have been better. The plot felt like a repeat. I will watch it again when it hits DVD. But I feel somewhat disappointed after tonight.
  21. Found this earlier, know we have a bunch of IT folks here and wanted to share. You can get 6 months of access to the full Pluralsight library by signing up for MS Visual Studio Dev Essentials. If you haven't used Pluralsight before, it has a massive collection of technical material. Pretty much all of the top vendors (Citrix, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, etc.) have study material listed of some variety. http://www.troyhunt.com/2015/12/get-more-awesome-pluralsight-content.html?m=1 Copied from above link: Secondly, Microsoft has just announced Visual Studio Dev Essentials and here’s the really awesome bit: if you sign up to that – and it’s free so so there’s nothing stopping you – you get all of Pluralsight’s library for free for six months!
  22. LOL, that's one way to look at it. Thankfully the week calmed down because the first couple of days were rough. Everyone is here now. Grandpa swung over through there a bit ago and said the power is back on. Still talking to everyone but we will probably try and go down there for a while tomorrow still. I hope so because then I get to test out these Dawson Precision sights instead of having to wait until can make it out to the range.
  23. Merry Christmas everyone!
  24. Christmas plans just got cancelled. Tornado went through the area where my wife's grandparents have a cabin, power is out and a lot of damage in the area. They don't live there, just a weekend spot that was left to them by a family member so everyone is OK. Will be doing Christmas with all the family at my place I guess. The two people missing in Perry County live next to the mentioned cabin.
  25. Took both G19 mags to the range today and no issues from either. 75 rounds through each mag. The springs seem quite a bit stiffer than my OEM mags (a couple are new so very close comparison). Only one round count hole is odd but doesn't detract from performance.
