  1. I tried some - it meters even worse than Varget. Slightly longer, at least the pound of each I had on-hand and compared with.
  2. Updated my laptop this morning, was on the tech preview. Windows update did not show the Win10 update, tried to run the media create and update, it just closed out with no message. So I played around with Windows Update settings went under Advanced and changed the site used for updates. Ran another update check and Windows 10 started downloading. My laptop is now official. No problems with install or activation, but I did upgrade a legit Win7 to the tech preview so that may have helped my case.
  3. I think I read somewhere that the preview versions would automatically upgrade to the full release...let me see if I can find that or at least debunk the thought.   Older article but says yes, preview will get upgrade: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2921034/windows-10-preview-testers-will-get-a-free-upgrade-to-final-rtm-version.html     If I am reading your post right, you did the upgrade but are now back on the build release and not activated? So the upgrade is not letting you continue again?
  4. I grabbed a Milt Sparks VMii for my G30 the other week and love it. It would be absolutely perfect if it rode 1/2" to 1" lower, but that is just a preference really. I also have a Pure Kustoms holster for my 1911 - it is an IWB/OWB leather holster and the 1911 absolutely disappears (not that they are very difficult to conceal anyways since so thin).    With either of those I can carry all day and no discomfort.   I have used several different hybrid or full kydex holsters. I liked some, didn't care for others (Blade Tech Nano is absolute garbage IMO for example). Kydex is very convenient with a single clip, simple to put on and take off even when sitting down in a vehicle.   I ordered a hybrid Raw Dog Tactical holster for my G26 a week ago, it should be here tomorrow. Good price and good reviews on it.
  5.   Yes that is my understanding. Both of mine have been in-place upgrades so cannot verify.
  6.   It is a tool to create an ISO image, but allows you to perform an upgrade on the device you download it to.   http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
  7. I updated my Surface Pro 3 earlier today. I did not get the prompt, so tried deleting the software distribution folder and running wuauclt.exe. Windows 10 downloaded but kept failing to install. So I decided to download the utility and create a boot USB - guess what, the tool gives you the upgrade option WITHOUT creating a boot disk or USB. Can get the tool from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Download, run, and select upgrade this PC.   So far no issues on my Surface Pro. I need to boot up my laptop and let the Win10 preview upgrade to the full version.
  8. I ran some in 9mm and .45acp but not .40 - I got out of that caliber last year and never loaded any up with this powder. The powder shoots cleanly and accurately for me in the other calibers.
  9. Great thanks. I will plan on heading out there tomorrow then and hope it wraps up by 1:30 or so.
  10. I am signing up out there finally. Calendar shows new member signups is 12-2pm Saturday - is that full 2 hours for the safety orientation once I submit my paperwork? If so I'm not sure I have time tomorrow and will have to head over Sunday morning.  Or is that 2 hours just when they are there accepting walk-in applicants and the safety orientation is another time?
  11. A "beer cake". Wife bought a case of beer and stacked the cans wrapped with some sort of ribbon, then filled in gaps with snickers candy bars. She said she showed a picture of one online to my daughter, who said that is what she wanted to give me.
  12. I have one (won it as part of Larue's giveaway around Christmas). It is a nice trigger but not quite as clean as my Geissele SSA-E. May improve as it gets broken in more, right now only about 60 rounds through it (trigger is in my 6.8 I just recently completed). I think it is a great deal at the sale price, if they were still in stock.
  13. I just use Google (part of Now) for the most part. I have used Waze but didn't install on my new phone. Google has live traffic and alerts for wrecks. My only problem with it is you cannot (yet) set an alert in case traffic is worse than normal. I would love to be able to set a schedule of days/times I travel, as I don't go into the office every day.
  14. I've got one, does a pretty good job especially for the price.
  15. I have used a few pounds of TAC and it is a great powder. AR Comp is from Alliant and specifically marketed as for AR platform loads.
  16. I have heard many people talk about AR Comp, but I never tried it. I finally bought a pound a few weeks ago, and loaded up some test batches to shoot yesterday. I WILL be buying more! I loaded 7 batches, 4 using 69gr SMK and 3 using 55gr Hornady SPs. All 7 were 1" or better groups, but these 3 loads really shined. I may not even do any more experimenting, assuming I get similar results with my next 20 rounds of each load. These are all 5 shot groups, fired through my 18" Wilson Arms stainless bull barrel off a bench using a Caldwell Tackdriver bag (front support, had no rear bag) at 100 yards. 55gr SP, 23.0gr AR Comp, 2.230" OAL 5 shots into 0.661", minus .224 = 0.437" group 69gr SMK, 22.5gr AR Comp, 2.255" OAL 5 shots into .737" minus .224 = .513" group 69gr SMK, 22.8gr AR Comp, 2.255" OAL This actually is the same group size as the 22.5gr load, but the slight increase in powder may have more potential based on the pattern. I am loading up more of these to verify with multiple 5 shot groups, but this powder looks amazing so far. This Wilson Arms barrel is very accurate, and I have shot some good groups before but not had half inch groups with 55gr/69gr bullets and the same powder. Who else here is using AR Comp, any pet loads that you would mind sharing? I may be replacing BLC-2 as my "go to" powder.
  17. I wish Aero or another supplier would get their extended 30mm mount back in stock. I would be using that coupon.
  18. I have deprimed live primers several times. It takes more force to set them off than you expect (I have set several off intentionally to try and get the feel for it). Just slowly deprime without sudden hard pressure. Be careful, wear safety glasses as an extra precaution, etc.
  19. Nice, I can't come because of work but will be following updates online from I/O.
  20. My .45s are loaded with reloads (daily carry). 185gr XTPs. My bedside gun is a 9mm and was loaded with reloaded 124gr Gold Dots, but I recently loaded it with factory HSTs. I have no problem with my reloads. Any bullets that make good defense or hunting rounds I spend extra time loading and make sure everything is very consistent. After working up and testing load accuracy of course.

    Mossberg MVP LR

I handled the new MVPs at the NRA show. They were all sloppy and felt cheap. I don't have a Rem 700, but that model tops my list if/when I go for a longer range bolt gun.
  22. I haven't used any Sightron brand stuff, but have a Primary Arms 1-4 on my carbine. It is not a true 1x but is very close, I have no problem with both eyes open and improper positioning. I can hold my carbine off my shoulder, out at full arms reach and still see the reticle, but it does have the fish bowl affect. With my eye positioned at the very end of the stock the reticle is fully in focus for me at 1x.
  23. Congrats! I won one as well, went with a 1911 mag myself.
  24. Big waste, typical Titans.
  25. I'm pretty much sold on the Aero extended mount, just waiting on one to come back in stock. I found a new one listed on another forum for a good price, just waiting for the person to reply to my message.
