  1. Why should a Navy facility have to wait for local LEO to respond. Did we not learn anything from Chattanooga?
  2. My answer is "no I keep them with me". My wife went to the doctor a few years ago and stepped on the scale. Gave it a puzzled look, stepped off handed her gun and holster to the nurse and stepped back on. Said that looks better and collected her stuff and went on. The look on the nurses face was priceless.
  3. That's an easy comment to say. If an area with high gun ownership only has a .5% crime rate and it drops to a .4 it isn't a "large" drop as opposed to a low gun ownership area that drops from 10% to 8%.
  4. You may want to reconsider your math on this.  Propane puts out 92,500/btu per gallon and currently running $2.20/gallon, K1 puts out 135,000 btu's per gallon but is running $3.30+.
  5. I don't even live in TN anymore and just renewed my membership. This is a great community regardless of where you live.
  6. I have a summit viper that's several years old. It's a steel version so it's heavy. I'm considering a new one for next year and came across these guys: http://www.treewalkertreestands.com/contact.asp They look pretty reasonable and are made in Tennessee.
  7. If you are charging for it then yes it could be considered illegal.
  8. I don't think prices are much higher than they used to be. I bought a brand new 2006 Dodge 3500 single wheel megacab for $39k in 2006. Earlier this year I bought a 2015 Dodge 3500 crew cab duelly for $46k. That doesn't seem like huge inflation to me.
  9. I think the other reason people shy away from home based ffl is that your house can be searched at any time without cause. If I remember correctly.
  10. They will go back in befor dark. You could also work on training them using food association with a sound like a whistle. Basically every time you put food down softly blow the whistle as the start to eat. They will associate it within a week and come running. Also keep a light on in the coop on a timer that gives 12 hours of light a day, you will get higher egg production throughout the winter.
  11. What are you feeding this dog? While it may not directly be a food allergy, crappy food can definitely affect the overall health of the dog. I have seen and worked with cases of skin problems that even the vets had given up on and fixed them with a change in diet and controlling the environment the dog is in. Dawgdoc may be right and you will need to do a food trial but I would try a few other things prior to feeding a $100 a bag food.
  12. While partially genetic, antler size is also directly related to nutrition and minerals av as available as well as age. A 4pt yearling may be an 8ft 3 year old but drop to a 6 point the next year if minerals and nutrition drop.
  13. There's a guy south of you in Fayetteville that has pretty good prices on trailers.
  14. I second this. Passed on the latest one in hopes the Godson would be next.
  15. My usually reply to an inspection is "now you know". I don't fix anything on the inspection. They saw the gate when they viewed the house. It is what it is. Had one that found some old termite damage in the detached garage. Buyer asked for a termite service to come out. I told him I'd pay the first $20 since that's what it would cost to buy some bug b gone. We closed a couple weeks later and all I did was spray bug b gone.
  16. I've used hunt101.com for over ten years. I can upload any size and it will give me a url for different sizes depending on what size I want to post. And it is free.
  17. The Station House. The best place I've eaten in Chattanooga.
  18. I've been wearing a Crossbreed for about 5 years now. It still looks good and I suspect it will easily last another 5. I have the horsehide version as the leather is denser and seems to work better in the summer Sent from my NXA116QC164 using Tapatalk
  19. There is a guy in fairview that carries a double action benchmade. I don't have his number handy though. Maybe one of the locals here has it.
  20. I came from a state that had constitutional open carry long before you could conceal. Strangely there were not a bunch of law suits or blood running down the streets. In addition the class you take for your permit is a joke.
  21. Just look for the 4-5 feathers that stick out from the rest at the top of the wing and trim the back even with the rest. I usually am doing chicks around 3 weeks old so they will stop getting out and running around my store. I've never made one bleed and have usually trimmed 40-50 at a time. You shouldn't be trimming fat enough back to hit any blood.
  22. Yep. Hold the wing out, using a sharp pair of scissors cut the 4 or so feathers that stick out even with the rest of the feathers. To save time I only cut one side.
