I almost bought a V-rod a few years back but momma threw a fit at the last minute. In all fairness, she did watch me nearly kill myself in a GT500 on the track at Beach Bend.

Yes, and I didn't think much of the movie.

Received mine. Nice!

I can only speak for the jurisdiction that I was a LEO in during the 90's, and contrary to some beliefs the police weren't doing it for their budget. The money from tickets went into the general fund. Then the trend started to add fees to the ticket dedicated to a specific purpose. Example: DUI convictions added fees for compensating the PD for equipment and training for DUI enforcement. I actually wrote the ordnance for the town to pay for our advanced breathalyzer machine that used spectrum analysis to determine BAC. At the time we were still using a Breathalyzer 900A that used photocells and chemical reactants in ampules, IIRC.

I recall a story a few years back where GM was monitoring their car's computers via satellite and could tell when you were speeding or otherwise doing things that were detrimental to the car. The claim was that they could use the information to void your warranty. Speed limiting could certainly happen as long as they were constantly updating for changes in the speed limit and temporary changes for construction zones.

There are many people in this country who do think otherwise.

I was a Missouri State certified RADAR instructor back in the 90's. A long standing court precedence is that an officer cannot rely on a device to determine if the vehicle was speeding; that THEY must use their judgment to determine that the vehicle was speeding via observation first, and then use the RADAR gun to verify their assessment. This is why auto-lock was removed from the guns. These trailers are doing exactly the opposite. One would think the judiciary would know this, so their allowing it proves that all they are interested in is the money. There's also that pesky inability to cross-examine a machine.

True story: I knew a high school graduate that swore that he didn't know anything about The Revolutionary War. When I asked him what he thought the 4th of July celebrated he said, "Fireworks?"

Granted, I got out of the Marine Corps in 1986 but I remember better prices back then. Understandably, when your customer base shrinks due to the military shrinking then you have two choices as I see it. One is to raise prices in hopes that it will make-up for fewer purchases, (not a good strategy), or you can increase your customer base by doing whatever you can to attract them because just opening the door to more people in today's market isn't going to do the trick. To me it looks like he's doing the latter. I know that I am routinely finding better prices online than at Amazon and Walmart that do not charge taxes, and in many cases, free shipping. Recently, I priced a TV and found that the best deal was at Best Buy who were better priced than even Costco and Sam's Club!

Did you guys even read the article before crapping on the idea? "The intent is to really beat Amazon at their game because we have locations literally on the installations," said CEO Tom Shull. "We're leaning toward not just ship-from-store but pick-up-from-store and eventually deliver-from-store." The Exchange is adding shipping centers within its stores to allow it to send products directly from those locations more cheaply and quickly. Twenty-six stores now ship orders, and that will expand to 55 by the end of the year. "'But competing on price in today's retail environment is increasingly difficult,' said Edward Jones analyst Brian Yarbrough. 'Just look at how much trouble Walmart has competing with Amazon,' he said, 'because Walmart has the fixed costs associated with its stores. To think you're going to compete on price, you're going to have a hard time there,' he said." "The Exchanges don't pay rent for their military base locations, and the government transports some of their supplies and goods to far-flung locations, but otherwise they operate mostly like an independent retailer." So here you have a CEO who wants to compete with Amazon and Walmart who both have to pay rent, (Amazon's fulfillment centers and Walmart's stores), pay for all shipping to their centers, and charge taxes whereas AAFES does not. He has also, "...imposed tighter cost controls, reduced the number of employees and improved people's experience on the website." He realizes that he has to compete, and to do so he has to offer better prices along with NO TAX. Sounds to me like he's going to do just that.

I'll probably wait to see what others here have to say about it first. I find that movie critics judge by different standards than I do, and I also like to wait until the crowds die down so that the theater isn't crowded.

The problem with being either paranoid or obstinately nostalgic is that it causes stasis and leaves you with nothing better to do than to bitch about how things are, (or how they are NOT what you want them to be), rather than attempting to change the situation. You can't conceive of anything getting better so you immediately go to the negative to find fault in everything. Our rights already have been compromised and have been so for decades. The states don't grant us our rights; The U.S. Constitution does, and the states just signed off on them a couple hundred years ago. You will die in the natural order of things before you see our rights restored to how they were intended to be, and all the while you may be giving money to the NRA who will accept it readily into their coffers to make a good show of doing nothing. When the states fail to uphold our rights it's up to the feds to step in and force them to uphold our rights, and it seems far easier now days to elect conservative legislators to do exactly that. -
I like 1911's but that one makes me

No, not apples to oranges. Rights are numerated in The U.S. Constitution that were signed off by the states of said union. The Supreme Court is a branch of the Federal Government that is ultimately responsible for upholding The U.S. Constitution; not the state. It's not a state right to remove a right that is given by The U.S. Constitution. -

Serious question: Are you OK with individual states taking away our rights, but not OK with taking away state's rights? -

That sucks. What's it matter to them what you use a settlement for? They only pay a certain amount. -

I went from 0.25 acres with a heck of a slope in the backyard to 5.2 acres that are flat and love it! I got a damned big mower too. -
He's fully aware that his feet stink that bad. He blames it on getting frostbite when he was younger but I call BS. The stink is from bacteria. Not that it's an excuse, but he grew up very poor - as in he took sponge baths all of the time due to lack of water. Old habits die very hard, apparently.

All he has to do is take off his shoes, and you'll smell them 30 feet away.

Try Valerian Root. It smells like my father-in-law's feet, but it's a natural sleep aid. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-870-valerian.aspx?activeingredientid=870
