  1. Details are still sketchy, but from the TV coverage, best I can tell, 4 people shot. At least one dead. 3 maybe 4 carjackings as he tried to get away. It started at an Auto Zone in Frayser were he walked in and live streamed himself on FB shooting the 1st victim. Several more shootings and carjackings took him as far as Southaven. He was captured alive in South Memphis. But may be injured after wrecking the car he was in. This part is unclear at this time. Memphis has gone totally ape chit!
  2. Are you really gonna start this ? 42 years as a mechanic working in fleets. I can tell you for a fact that nothing holds up better than a Ford.
  3. Show it to us!
  4. No, we used paper maps that were given away at gas stations and could never be re-folded again.
  5. Service grade.
  6. Here's mine. 1942 Colt frame with an Ithica slide. No rebuild marks.
  7. Very interesting indeed. I like the part where the super rich are worried that their own paid security will turn against them. Yep, I think these guys are going to in for quite a shock if the S ever does HTF. All their money and planning is going to backfire on them big time.
  8. This is interesting. Not very far from me. I guess I'll go check it out. I found that the promoter is Great American Promotions They tried a couple of shows in Memphis before. I wasn't really impressed. But the venue that they had then was too small and crowded. Maybe they'll do better in Somerville. RK lost their venue in Memphis. Last I heard they haven't found a new place yet. No shows in a while now and none scheduled on their site. So I guess this is all we got. I hope it doesn't suck. Go to Great American's web site and you can print out a $1 off coupon.
  9. True. I'm sure there will be lots of pressure from her very rich family and friends. But Mulroy just got the job. He may feel a need to prove his point.
  10. Such a shame. Just proves that bad things do happen to good people and no place is safe anymore. 1st degree murder and kidnapping are both capital crimes. I do hope they go with no bail and pursue the death penalty. The question is does Mulroy have the balls for it?
  11. IDK, the guy is shaping up like a drug dealer. He may have that in petty cash. And if he does make bail, you can bet he'll be gone in a hurry. But I do fear that at this point they're looking for a body.
  12. Land is the thing. I grew up hunting and enjoyed it. Mostly on farm land owned by family and friends. But slowly over the years they sold out or died off. Finally gave it up about 20 years ago simply because I ran out of places to go. Your best chance is to join a hunting club. But most aren't open to strangers. Ya gotta know somebody.
  13. I don't do FB . What's all this about? I've heard nothing of it on the news. I do hope she's found alive and well.
  14. One of the classics that every serious gun owner should have in their collection. Beautiful example you have there. Congratulations!
  15. Last I heard demand was still very high. Springfield is giving Stocking Dealers first priority too. Just gotta keep your eyes open and jump when the chance hits. That's how I got mine.
  16. I was in my safe yesterday and realized that I have two large boxes of my late wife's old jewelry taking up space in there. The stuff has just been sitting in there for years. Its an odd collection of stuff going back to both our mothers and grandmothers. Maybe even farther. Most of it is just cheap junk. But, I know my wife had said that some of it was worth quite a bit. The problem is that I know nothing about jewelry and couldn't tell junk from valuable. The question is what to do with it? I have no use for it. I don't need to sell it. Don't need the money. But its just sitting here doing nothing. My older son is coming by later today to look through it. But I really doubt he'll want me than a couple of pieces to remember his mother by. I'm seriously considering just giving it to my Daughter-in-law as she's the only woman in the family. But i don't even know if she will want it. I'd really like to have a jeweler take a look at it. But there's a lot of it and that would take hours. Anybody know an honest jeweler in the Memphis area who might be willing to take a look? Any other suggestions on what to do with it?
  17. Yep, that's right in my stompin' grounds. Wolf Creek shopping center at Stage (Hwy 64) and Germantown Rd. Its right across the street from Wolfchase Mall. Its a heavily traveled, major intersection. I've been to that shopping center many times. Most people, including me, consider it a very safe area. I guess its not. But that's why I'm always armed any time I leave the house. Ya never know these days. Kind of an odd place there. The South side of Hwy 64 is Memphis. That's where this Target store is. The North side of 64 is Bartlett. Police response time on the Memphis side is 30 min to an hour. Response time on the Bartlett side is 5-10 minutes max. The BGs know this and usually stay on the south side.
  18. For those who may not know, this gun will shoot .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Magnum and .327 Federal magnum ammo. The only difference in these 4 rounds is case length and powder charge.
  19. I just realized that this thread has been on this forum about a year longer than I have. I also remember seeing it many times in the past. I remember when TISAS first came out as well. They weren't very well thought of at the time. However, when they brought out their Regent Hi-Power clone, everything changed. It got great reviews and their 1911s suddenly went into the acceptable to good range. I've never owned or shot a TISAS, but I do know that their reputation has gone up considerably since then. Oddly enough, TISAS no longer sells their version of the Hi-Power.
  20. Sorry, I have Anal Glaucoma. Just can't see my azz giving a .
  21. I'm fond of Streamlights. I carried a Stylus in my shirt pocket at work for years. It provided plenty of light for daily use and was tough as nails. I carry a Micro-stream in my pants pocket daily. It's very handy.
  22. Finds a an acorn. I've been considering one of these for a while now. Tempted by the one currently in the classifieds. But its too far away. Single actions and I generally just don't get along. But I keep trying. Probably owned a half dozen or more over the years. Ended up selling them all. Saw this one on Armslist this morning. Asking price was $180. Just on a whim I e-mailed the guy and offered $150. HE TOOK IT! As of about an hour ago, I'm now the proud owner of a Ruger Wrangler! The gun is LNIB. Includes all paperwork, etc. Not a mark on it. I can't tell if its ever been fired. I'm plumb tickled pink! However, my usual luck is holding. Can't get to the range tomorrow and long range forecast calls for a 40-60% chance of rain every day for the next week. No idea when I might get a chance to try it out. But I got a great deal!
