  1. "KPD: Man who shot himself in mall parking lot was gun permit holder"  No bias in that report.
  2. Electricity is over rated.  If all that was effected was electrical , it would suck for sure, but unless it was followed up with an invasion I think it would be recoverable within short order.  First of all, not every electrical item would be effected, there are many electronics that are shielded against such things. Many of those are generators, and since we have the knowledge, we can get things repaired quite quickly.  No, a EOTWAWKI event would have to be a global event such as a meteor, massive tectonic plate movements, Super Volcano eruption or nuclear war or a mix of those things.  Along with such events are the massive loss of life, and depending on where such an event originates, there may be large metropolitan areas wiped out so hordes from there may be non existant.  Even accounting for the mad max scenarios, large like minded groups are the only way to survive such events; whether it be in a rural area or town/city will depend on what is left of those areas.
  3. Just take it apart from the top, Lee dies are perfect for this.  Then it's easier to hammer it out with a punch.
  4. Boy talk about wishful thinking.  There are many gun toting, survival minded tactically trained individuals in large cities.  There is a high likelihood that among that 'horde' will be combat vets that have fought up in the mountains of Afghanistan against some very rural communities.  If a large group leaving the city encounters other groups of gang members and such as mentioned in the article, then the group that eventually ends up in rural areas will be battle hardened and not the soft bellied individuals the writer suggests.  No, the most likely way for rural inhabitants to survive is to come together into large groups and create defense perimeters that can be defended costing attackers too much time, energy and most of all casualties to take.
  5. Probably an ammo can of 30/06 or .308 in an ammo box, the article never mentions .40, it says 40 year old ammo. Since .40 didn't come out until the 90's it rules that one out. If it was .40 they may of busted out the robot:
  6. I doubt VA will follow suit, but maybe some will move next door.
  7. Not a big hockey fan, but if I were I'd have to root for the Avalanche.  It's the dilemma I have with football, I'll root for the Titans unless their playing my Broncos.
  8. While they are better now, they were not too bad even 10-15 years ago. I purchased what was supposed to be an original MS Office disk set, when it arrived it turned out to be a copy, and a bad copy at that. I notified eBay and they refunded my money, and they didn't have me send the disks back.
  9. Good, just follow up with PayPal. But hurry, there is a time limit.
  10. If you paid with PayPal you can get your money back. Otherwise eBay may suspend his account if he doesn't return your money. Visa also does guarantees, just not sure if eBay is covered.
  11. I don't know, I was pretty tickled when uday and qusay went down, not to mention ole osama.
  12. Bluff, he always rattles and we give in. I say ignore him.
  13. Yea, like they consider a shoe string an NFA part.  If one has any imagination you can construct an NFA part from a multitude of things laying about the house.
  14. Stuff comes from the same place.
  15. Seed choice is key, I've tried many different types and while they do work, the cheap Rural King seed (bagged not loose) worked pretty good, I used it in a food plot for soil erosion prevention and it came up better than the expensive stuff at the house.  Here are some seed choices:   Bermuda grass: full sunshine Centipede grass: partial shade ‘Meyer’ zoysia grass: partial shade ‘Emerald’ zoysia grass: shade St. Augustine grass: shade Tall fescue: shade   Get a soil test, put down either fertilizer or get seed with it already on it.  Depending on what the current grass looks like you can either kill it then till it up and start over, or just dethatch and run a aerator through it.  After spreading the seed rake it in (needs good soil contact) and or cover it with straw to keep the birds off it.  Another way is to get grass plugs such as zoysia grass or sod, I am going to try this method (plugs) as mine is a mix of different varieties ATM.  This grass take over the lawn so hope to get it to take hold out front, the back is fine.  While I was stationed in Japan, I noticed that the Japanese would lay sod out like a checker board and in no time the entire lawn would be covered,  I am hoping the plugs work just as well.
  16. Looks like gun stores need to have a civilian based Joint–Services Interior Intrusion Detection System (J–SIIDS) enabled safe, but that would require developing a ready reaction task force since incidents like these are quick, 2 minutes for this one.   This story is contradicting itself; in one sentence it says multiple arrests, then follows up with still on the loose.  Good help is hard to find nowadays.
  17. I noticed the contents shrinking sometime back, even seen a news report about it. They surmised that it was due to rising fuel prices then, so with the fuel so low why aren't they giving us more? On the other side of the spectrum, aren't the soft drinks at fast food joints getting bigger? What they call medium was a large when I was growing up, now the large may as well be a 2 liter.
  18. Lol, that was my first thought when I seen the headline.
  19.       Ha, I got three of them for free with coupons.  Love them things.
  20. Ok, so these were once selective fire demilled AK 47s just missing the barrel, receiver and FA parts.  What parts make it FA, and is the receiver drilled differently between a FA and semi?  I now on an M4 there is an extra hole on the lower receiver, is there a difference in receivers on an AK?
  21. I've had great tools from HB as long as you know the limitations before you buy.  Related to guns, I have their mini chop saw to convert my 300Blk, their wet tumbler and vibratory tumbler as well.  I have assorted hand tools such as posthole digging bar and sockets for my impact wrenches.  I even bought an electric pole saw to trim my trees, works fine.  Their motors and steel are not the best but hold up long enough and priced low enough that when they do break you got your money out of them.  I guess the bottom line is, if you need a tool for a project and your livelihood does not depend on such a tool then they will do.
  22. Comms will like this Article, I like the comments:   http://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2016/2/26/keefe-report-seriously-is-the-40-sw-dead/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=insider&utm_campaign=0316   So what do you think, has 9mm really gotten that much better or are we just witnessing a budget driven choice?  I have carried a .40 almost since it's inception, done the whole wet phone book test (mid 80s) on it along with 9mm and .45 and just can't get past the fact that even though 9mm projectiles may of gotten better, the same can be said for the .40 and .45.  My decision to stay with a .40 for an EDC is simple, bigger bullet with a better mag capacity.
  23. Just seen this, what a bunch of losers! http://www.wideopenspaces.com/prototype-submachine-gun-stolen-right-off-table-great-american-outdoor-show/ https://youtu.be/HCuUXQPfsiQ Looked well rehearsed, must of had it all planned out. I thought they usually cabled and alarmed all the weapons? Bet they do now.
  24. Yup, must piss them off something awful to get wacked by a real infidel.
  25. At Halloween it would be ok, but probably not a good idea as presented;  it may be a good target if soaked in red cool aid or some such.  Good fodder for some slow-mo videos.
