  1. Any familiar with non-armor carrying chest rigs? My minimum requirements are 3 m4 mags and 3pistol mags. 4 and 4 would be better. I'd also if possible like to mount a holster for pistol. No need for armor carrying, med bag or hydration attachment. I've looked at HSGI,BFG,Esstac, mayflower, but really not sure where to go. Don't want cheap crap but don't want to drop $300 either. It'd be nice to be able to swap platforms from 1911-glock or m4-308 without too much hassle. Any experience and details appreciated! Pics are cool too.
  2. PSA is good. I'd also check out Aero-Precision, recently bought 3 sets from them, excellent quality. There are differences, even with basic lowers. Usually it is in the quality of the finish and the consistency of the machining. I had one of 3 Anderson lowers with a slightly larger hammer pin hole. If you want the best(not most expensive), go with Mega and don't look back.
  3. If not stuck on an auto. 870 is the pump gun I'd choose over all others. For autos, benelli or beretta. I have a beretta 1301, excellent shotgun but mine is for 3gun. If you don't own a shotgun at all, go pump.
  4. I had one for a g26, it was very comfortable. Just didn't fit my carry style. For the price, it is a quality piece.
  5. Yep, 2. STI 2011 Eagle, Gen4 G35. I also have 10's for the haters. I like .40 as a reloader. Less fuss than 9mm, more bullet weight variation if needed. Favorite load(and my competition load) is 200grn WFN bullets at 850fps. Makes the .40 a pussycat but makes major power. This needs pics...
  6. The RO is best in class at that price, period. My 1st was so nice, I bought a second, both in 45.
  7. Pretty good work. I looked hard at the new spikes lowers but decided I'm too practical and this is somewhat a novelty. I really like the hellbreaker one.
  8. YES. Commercial supressors are on either form 3(dealer transfer) or form 4.
  9. Could get .223 stuff to group better than 3" at 100 with multiple guns. Using it for function testing on new builds.
  10. PlumCrazy firearms now new frontier armory has been making them for about 10yrs in AR's. I had one, shot about 300rds, no issues, sold the gun during panic about 5yrs ago.
  11. The SS stalked me well, this was on my "eventually" list. Limbsaver for Magpul stocks for my 50Beowulf, my shoulder thanks you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Have a 14.5 on my m4 block 1 clone. Shoots just as well as any non floated AR barrel I've used. Will buy again.
  13. 9mm and cast is a different story vs. 40 and 45. 9mm bores are all over the place and the tapered case will swage oversized cast, recipe for leading. Highly suggest coated .357 diameter bullets for 9mm.
  14. Top rail removable as the "leftover" rails they bought were intended for piston operated guns that LWRC makes. Cleaning a standard gas system is a not a normal thing to do with any frequency.
  15. Not 10 but 3 in my case. Had both 1/8 and 1/7. Zero issues with stability with many different bullet designs. OP, I think the upper is a crap shoot at best. Cdnn bought a bunch of leftover LWRC rails and have been throwing them on every kind of upper they can. I think it's a tad deceitful, going for name recognition with the handguards and then cheap parts everywhere else. I'd pass and buy from well known supplier of quality AR's. Or build as I do. This is a 10" 1/8 lothar-walther lw50 on mega receivers , Griffon Armament taper mount on end for form 1 suppressor
  16. As above, can't even rent a machine shops tools and machines. Buy a drill press, jig and bits, finish at home.

    Finally gave in

Or 15 or whatever...it is truly an addiction. Don't start cloning, that's the worst of the AR affliction
  18. Sig 220 would be my second choice to a 1911.
  19. I build all my gas guns. Barrel is a Bartelin 20", upper/lower Saltworks, BCG from KAK. Budget wouldn't be a word I would use to describe it. Accurate would be :)
  20. Or under sprung... Seen many reports of the same with psa lr308 guns. Could also be a buffer weight problem. Dolo, There are makers of standard lr308 bcg's with dual ejectors. I have one in my .260rem build.
  21. 30-30 ain't really that great out of a short barrel, just not efficient. Go big!
  22. Only bad part about the Troy Rifles is the fluted chamber.
