  1. I've got the Blackhawk, it seems to be a good Duty-holster for a 1911.  It works well without a belt.  It took a while to get it to release right.  I'm not comfortable to bet my life on it, maybe with more practice.
  2. Rock Sliders are the first part you should put on it.   Most require drilling holes in the floorboard and the tub, but they're priceless.  If it came with a D-35 rear axle, replacing it should be your first up-grade.    Don't put a heavy spare tire on your tail-gate, fit a tire carrier in the up-grades somewhere.
  3. I'm also a fan of Hickok45; keep up the good work.
  4. Isn't that next weekend?  Lebanon is this weekend, it was small.
  5. I qualified for arms training in the USAF in '82 with a 22cal/M-16, That was the last I was around small arms, except a 38 with a few rubber bullets.  I don't understand why every member of the service doesn't carry a hand gun.  I hope more citizens will start to carry, WW III is right around the corner.
  6. 'Right, I made my fist score from them last week.  I hope they stay separate from TN
  7. I was talking to my favorite  gun dealer last week, and we got off on Colts.  He was talking about the recent quality and their attitude toward their dealers and suppliers.  It wasn't a good report, to sum it up:  Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.  Pro 16:18  That's sad.
  8. or a 4 pound 1911    My gen4-19 needed trigger work or polishing.  I got a competition trigger from e-bay for about $60.
  9. Being 'picky' is ok if you're just popping caps, but I don't think even a break-in of more than 10-20 rounds is acceptable for something you want to bet your life on.
  10. I usually print pretty-heavy because I'm short and slim, and I carry big ones.  I only carry OWB on my right hip. I've got a Cobra Gun-Skin pancake holster for about everything I carry.  They help me hide a 1911 from most people.
  11. When it hits the fan, I think I'll keep a SKS near.   That makes my match-grade 1911 shine until then.
  12. Well, let's not be passing judgment 'till we get all the facts.  We haven't heard from hillary yet, maybe she even knows more tricks about bad-guns.
  13.   My ex had a B with a A-learners permit.   Check the local truck driving schools, I bet they could give you a check-ride with the license cheaper than you could rent a truck.
  14. I wonder if your neighbor has shipping-plastic on the camera lenses.  I have a 8 channel, 4 camera system like his and it has a good b/w picture in the very dark.  I've got about $130 in the system and about that in a good HDD, both from e-bay. I haven't posted a sign yet.
  15. The Gen-3 is good.  The Gen 4 has a bigger guide rod for a longer life, a bigger mag release on both sides, a shorter trigger assembly.    Earlier gen mags wont work.  Look at YouTube for trigger problems on the gen-4.       I wanted one 9mm, I chose the gen-4 for the longer life.  A bad trigger was putting me all over the target.    I saw a few on YouTube that polished the trigger for a dollar. I replaced my trigger assembly with a competition kit from e-bay, about $50.    I like the g19, but I've got about $100 less money in a Springfield XDg 45, be sure to look at it.
  16. I prefer a 45cal, but if you've got to have a 9mm, the Glock 19 is probably the best choice.
  17. Wow, I missed it.  Was it posted on here?
  18. I had a major failure with a Taurus 1911, and it took 2 returns to get it fixed.  It shoots nice now and I carry it when I might beat it around, but I'll never trust it again.  I hope my XD never fails me, I'm sure it's as dependable as a Glock.  The time will probably come when I'll trust my life on both of them.   'And other 1911s.
  19.   'Sorry to hear that, I've been willing to bet my life on my XD-g.  I love 1911s, they are just harder to carry.  I'd like to find a compact 1911, the CCO sounds nice.    Sorry to hear that, I've been willing to bet my life on my XD-g.  I love 1911s, they are just harder to carry.  I'd like to find a compact 1911, the CCO seems nice.
  20. Thanks for that info, 103.  I got nasty letters from TNDOT for 3 years, because of my first speeding ticket in a big-truck.
  21. 15-over is reckless driving, the officer has the option to take you to jail for 15 over.  A truck-driver can only have one of those every 3 years.  I wouldn't want that on my MVR.    I'd burn a vacation day to be in court.  Ask for mercy on the court to keep that offense off your record.   I keep a current CDL, I still haven't learned to drive 55, (but I try hard not to do 15 over).  I'm grateful for the mercy that several judges have given me over the years.  It's usually cost me court-cost and time.
  22. I agree with the initial post, I believe the New-World government will come from a world-economic crises.    I also hold an AW-millennial view.  I've been wondering what to do for cash-flow when I can't buy, sell, nor trade.    I wonder if Eros would be more secure than the dollar today, would this be a good time to convert currency?
  23. My gun is attached to my hip, I'm offended when people want to act like a communist. Gun-free zones are un-Americian. I signed my name on the line, along with thousands who died to allow you to keep and bear arms. With respect to them, you shouldn't be taking that right lightly
