Save Monkeyman ... Or not ... (Classic Car Advice)
frankmako replied to MrsMonkeyMan2500's topic in General Chat
sell it. vehicles that are not driven often will sooner or later will need more time, work and money to fix things that go bad from setting. been there, done that, got the t-shirt. last year i sold my one owner 1988 f150 because i was not driving it and when i did problems came up. so out came the bill fold to buy parts and time used to fit the problems. i was hard to sell something that has been with me for so long. -

? for you guys that use motor oil for gun lube
frankmako replied to AtomicRooster's topic in General Chat
i use motor oil that is left over from my oil changes. it is tractor, car, motorcycle oil all different weights mix. some times i add transmission fluid to the mix. i use axle/wheel bearing grease also. for me it works just as good as the high dollar stuff you buy. i have gotten named brand gun oils/greases as gifts during rifle/pistol matches. i have used them and i can not tell any different between them and motor oil except the price per ounce. but for cleaning i am a #9 man except when i mix up a batch of ed's red. -
no, no, and more no. i use to get it in the 80's and 90's, but stopped. it never did any good for me. work gave them out free. but i was not in the line for them.

If you enter a gun store you are "the wrong crowd"
frankmako replied to Glenn's topic in General Chat
well i have been with the wrong crowd all my life. looks like i got to put on the rain gear before i ride the motorcycle to ace hardware for some gun sight screws this morning. but on a plus side, the bike will get washed by the rain this morning. i am just a "wrong crowd" guy. -

Hillary Clinton announced new gun-control measures
frankmako replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
she is a fool. we got many guns laws. put people that break them in jail. things will change. bring back the chain gang, lots of things will change. but fools will never see the facts or understand them. -

hard to beat a glock, any model of the glocks.

it got to go before you can seat the new primer. there are many ways to do it and it does take time. don't over do it and make the primer hole to big. if you do it will not hold the primer in. do a search on the web for the different ways to do it. pick the one that you like. dillon, lyman, lee, and rcbs have hand and drill mounted models.

I carry a snubnose revolver because.....
frankmako replied to FortKnox's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
hard to beat a j-frame for all your carry needs. I carried a model 36 for many mango seasons as my "bug" on my ankle while on the job. now with the lighter wheel guns it is easy to carry one. drop a speed strip in your pocket for one reload and all is well with the world. put on a tyler-t grip and the j-frame is even better. -
Steel Ammo Can Prices & Availability
frankmako replied to luvmyberetta's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
i have seen prices down to around $10 for 50 cal cans and $8 for 30 cal cans. the big 40 mm cans around $20. stores prices are higher and out of line of what i am willing to pay. army ammo cans are good to store items, but there is other options that will work that can be cheaper. when the cans prices went high i started using plastic coffee cans. i used old metal coffee cans for years and still have brass and cast lead bullets stored in some from the early 80's. -
i got one and it has over 1,500 rounds down range. it was one of the first and it gave me some problems at first. got them fixed and now the gun is good to go. not a range gun. it is a point shoot gun good for close up work. easy to carry. yes you can spend more money for other brands. but they all have some type of problems. when you put the 9 mm in a small lite weight gun you can get problems. what i have seen and experience is that any small lite 9 mm can have problems.

Proper way to dispose of live primers?
frankmako replied to MrBrian's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
i have push them out too. just go slow. or put some oil inside the case and throw it in the trash. -
i got a used one back in 06. never gave me any problems. round count is unknown. i just shoot them, don't count rounds. cast reloads or factory, it just shoots.

i am going to the front lines with a boat load of ammo.
