  1. i got one of the old cav arms lowers.  it is just as good as the others.  i use it to build a tack driver.
  2. not much you can do with them.  now days it is hard to get wheel weights that you can cast with.  i am glad that i save up some many years ago.  i still get five gallon buckets of wheel weights from a friend tire shop.  it take sometime getting the good weights out of the bucket.  it has gotten to the point that it is more pain in the butt to keep on doing it.
  3. who cares.  this is a distraction to several major problems that we have, i.e.,, irs, nsa, obama care.. do i need to go on.  we need to get back on track and get away from these distractions.
  4. it has been moved to tue.  think i will get out of town.  don't need to see the crap.
  5. looks like the primer seating rod got out of line, or pushed with to much force, or the crimp rod got off center, or to much force.   in others words the machine that seats and crimps the primers got out of line.  it should not/will not hurt in the shooting of them.  you will have to cut more of the crimp out than normal if you are going to reload them.
  6. when it comes to a pistol that works, the glock is hard to beat.  i was issued my first glock in 1988, a g17.   i did not want it, i was a 1911 a1 and/or s&w model 19 guy.   but times were changing and i could not change the fact that i was getting a new issue gun.  first day on the range with it to learn the new gun and i was sold.  since then i have not looked back.  as matter of fact the only gun that i carry on and off duty is a glock.  i might buy and play around with other brands, but when it comes to work and personal protection it is a glock 23.
  7. i keep a 22 lr around for just these types of problems.
  8. i forgot about the cheap ammo in the 80's.  back in the day the sks and ammo were cheap.
  9.   sometimes you got to do what has to be done as fast as possible.   it is not like what you see on tv/movies.  backup is never just around the block waiting to back you up.
  10. i would go to shooters first. as gun stores go, shooter's has went to the top of the list here.  then drive down to ga to gt's.  gt's is now open to the public.  they will send guns to a ffl in tn for tn people. leo can buy in ga at gt's on department letter head. leo gets a better price at gt's.  then you have the box stores.  they have a good bunch of guns.  you can also check out carter's on hwy 58.  carter's is getting better, but still have some of the highest price around.  now if you got some time to blow and don't want to buy anything, just to look around.  i would drive to benton's in polk county.  they got the most guns and ammo around.  but when you see the prices you will understand why.
  11. i kept several boxes of duty ammo in my raid bag in the trunk of my g-ride for several years.   i think this ammo was 1990 age.  shot them last month and they all went bang.  so heat and cold temps in a car did not effect them.
  12. break her down and clean good.  take the firing pin out and clean good.  it will take some time to get all the cosmoline out/off.  i got the same rifle and if i remember i pay around $65.00 dollars for it many mango seasons ago.  i like it over any of my ak's.  they are just good shooters.  they don't give any problems and will shoot any ammo made.
  13. i will have to take off from work.  don't have much free time, got to work to pay for the other people that don't work.
  14. sounds like the ammo is going to/for re-sales at gun shows at a higher price.
  15. just another form of slavery brought to you by the Democratic Party
  16. i use to include bike riding in my workouts.  but i have stopped because of bad drivers these days.  more people on the cell phone and not driving.  it has gotten to be a war zone on the road.  after several close calls with women texting and driving i gave road bike riding up.
  17. i use a dillon super swage now to clean the crimps out.  many mango season ago i used my hands and a rcbs primer pocket reamer.  like said it only takes once, then you are done.
  18. if i own both, i will keep both.  if i was to buy i like the springfield.
  19. overall the ford f-150 would be your best bet with the new ecoboost motor.
  20. sears shoes in fort o just south of chattanooga.  they got just about everything.
  21. hard to beat a gun that works right out of the box every time.
