Offering another data point. I was fine with original spring in my 509T from 115 thru 158gr with and without a can. Luck of the draw perhaps. Nice they offer it for those that may encounter the problem. This is the best $20 you can spend for its generous spring rates. Works with or without the Apex bits. However I dont recommend the striker spring. It takes off big weight, but cant fire NATO spec primers reliably. IMO, if a striker gun ends up ammo picky with a given striker spring, dont use it. https://www.mcarbo.com/fn-509-trigger-spring-kit.aspx Enjoy your new toy.

Good reminder to be vigilant, especially this time of year with other distractions. Beware Fedex labeled texts. My wife had been getting very convincing looking Fedex tracking texts, but had the presence to have me look at it knowing I have a Fedex account and get them regularly. These came from a phone number versus an automated account, spelled and formatted consistent with the real ones. Parts of the bogus link's URL were close. Perfect for current events having people mail ordering so much, would easily fool those without a Fedex account. Probably the best phishing item I've ever seen. Also been getting Wells Fargo texts, but since we dont have accounts with them, no need to check any further.

Objective Factors for Classifying Weapons with “Stabilizing Braces”
Erich replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
I trust no one wants further regulation, worse the subjective BS interpretation by field agents this opens the door to. But its clear where this ends. Those that have been predicting it were on the money. The ATF doesnt give a squirt about anyone's opinion, that is a smoke show. When I see this kind of information fishing from this kind of agency, I see it as a form of discovery where they know informed and smart opposition arguments will come after weeding out the junk. Allowing for better defense as they go forward with their clear plan to reclass braced weapons as SBR's. I wont help their lawyers. If you think your local govt reps will actually help or it just makes you feel like you did what you could, that is the better avenue. If you're one to look at the silver lining, as your pistols become SBR's overnight (maybe you were on the fence about doing a form 1), at least you have a fast track and a free tax stamp. exerpt: "an expedited application process and the retroactive exemption of such firearms from the collection of NFA taxes" . -
Sorry to hear that. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Give that bug hell !

It’s a good bet that it’s not the new gun owners that are sustaining the supply problem. While they were a good part of gun supply problems which became the media darling, they don’t think in terms of buying thousands of rounds. the speculators were the ones doing the heavy damage early on, and will continue to some degree. But even they are not the ones that are going to drive this long term as their numbers are decreasing as profit margins grow. the real problem group to keep the sustained pressure on to make this drawn out are the gun crowd who say ‘never again’. They drain supply as it comes back and prices get more reasonable. A secondary run on hoarding. Plus those stock piling for future speculation.

While I hope its the short term, I had to go > 1yr. The last time was simply fear mongering without questionable capacity. Now we have the perfect storm. I'd also say the manufacturers learned their lesson last time. They will not push out the surpluses we saw 2014 to 2015.

Outside those lovely thoughts, I have seen more than a few folks question if the agent as the collector, actually remits all the revenue to the state. The end result is, the non dealer sellers who formerly were not collecting taxes will by adding to base amounts or somehow by stating add ons like transaction fees since they know they will get tapped for it on the backend. Buyers pay more because seller cost goes up for non dealer base transactions where sellers where not adding in taxes. Or seller do as many did on ebay, and just stop using it. A Loose loose The bad part is some of the more unique or rare items are sitting in private collections

Most assuredly, when referencing the appropriate article and or use of Google fu. https://support.gunbroker.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260800233069-Marketplace-Facilitator-Sales-Tax-Collection GunBroker.com will update this document as new information is available. Check back regularly. Last Update: December 4, 2020 GunBroker.com will implementing the new Marketplace Facilitator Internet Sales Tax regulations on January 1, 2021. As a marketplace, GunBroker.com will be required to collect and remit sales tax on all sales according to the state law. What is a Marketplace Facilitator? A Marketplace Facilitator is defined as an entity that provides a forum for sellers to promote their sale of physical property, digital goods, and services and is compensated for these services. As such, GunBroker.com is deemed to be a Marketplace Facilitator for sellers on the site. What if I am a private seller and not a business? Even as a private seller, you will have to collect and remit sales tax on your items. When the buyer completes the checkout process the appropriate tax will be calculated for the order. This tax will be paid to you as part of the payment you receive. In a manner similar to how you pay your GunBroker.com fees, GunBroker.com will bill and collect the sales tax amount from you. GunBroker.com, because of marketplace facilitator legislation, is required to report and remit the tax to the individual states for the transactions on the site. How will this flow? GunBroker.com will capture and record the sales tax related to each order. You will then remit that sales tax to GunBroker.com in the same manner as your monthly fees. These amounts will be periodically billed and collected via your payment method on file. GunBroker.com will remit the amounts collected to each state as the marketplace facilitator. Will I have to change my listings? No. On January 1, 2021 the GunBroker.com checkout process will begin charging sales tax on all orders. No changes to your listings will need to be made. Any existing tax information on your listings will be overridden by the new process.

If folks have not seen this yet/ GB will be collecting sales tax on completed auctions from the seller, including private party listings. Similar to eBay and Amazon. Previously, it was left to seller to follow applicable laws. For those planning on either buying or selling something, who may be concerned about this should plan timing accordingly. Not advocating for avoidance, just an FYI as some have strong feelings about private party sales and taxation.

^^^^ x 10. I'd recommend doing this before you build, especially if you dont plan on getting to it right away. I have gotten into the practice of doing a thorough spec check on part arrival as I have noticed increasing defect rates over the last 3 to 4 years. Irrespective of expense and brand. With todays turnarounds, its especially important. The barrel check mentioned is a great start. I'll add a few more that I run through on parts as they also effect BCG and stacking tolerance. 1. Check upper extension pin slot for spec. Out of spec allows the extension to overclock also leading to bolt lug contact and peening. Pin gages are best, spec .126 +.002. Interference fit at .125+ is ideal. I recently had an upper that was at .137. Manufacturer is a big name and due to their design it could not be shimmed. They stopped production to run thru as they prod staff had a WTF moment when they inspected it. 2. Ideal extension placement is flush fit of extension to the inside receiver face. If you get any setback your BCG runs forward and the stacking tolerance could have your carrier not push the buffer off the detent pin, resulting in the buffer face having hammering against the pin on each firing cycle. 3. BCG carrier flush to rear of the receiver pretty much guarantees your stacking tolerance would be an issue for the item above. 4. bolt to carrier resistance should support carrier weight when held on end and better if its got a bit more resistance. Carriers coatings allowance sometimes are high so diameter allows excess ring blow by leading to being undergassed. Gas system stuff is its own novel.

So that's what must mean by social distancing. Hmm. If it was not marked, almost all old Com block (especially Yugo) had corrosive primers, so like Greg says, hose that baby down. Still waitin for those pics

Pictures man! Pictures! Its a great round and fun to shoot. I know the gun is more capable than I've gotten out of my Romanians (T33) as my eyes no longer tolerate the very narrow gaps in old style mil spec sites like when I was younger. Like Garufa says, the safety on the others are something of a hot mess. Something that looks like they gave it to some 5th graders to hack together. But I have been lucky and mine have worked. But I know better to use them as they disintegrate with wear. Look forward to the pics!

Though I have never met him, the tight group of folks in that area speak volumes to what a loss this is. Its tragic when good folks go to soon. Rest Peacefully SteelHarp. Great videos posted. All of a sudden that screen makes sense. What a talent.

Did you ask them if they had an Aston Martin they could put on lay-away for you? Nice piece

If have said which ever they shoot better. Good for your ladies being willing to take care of business

Ok guys, after noodling on this, I thought maybe a scotch would help lubricate the brain. Then it hit me. All revolvers are X + 1 !! We have to remember our good old fashioned American know how and ingenuity.

Happy Thanksgiving folks, hope everyone stays healthy. Looking forward to the ceremonial pumpkin pie and 5 cans of whip cream!

I forgot about Dead Zero. I am a transplant myself and have not been to dead zero in person. When I landed in 2018 it was not fully completed but the big detractor was the distance at almost an hour and half away. When I was at my CRC orientation I did talk to a couple members who said they had built it out and were impressed. Both Montlake and Dead Zero are a bit of a trek for me. If the distance isn't an issue, seems hard pressed to not have a Dead Zero membership with it higher end offerings. I was going to look at options again in spring myself for a distance range and one that had bays for holster work. I currently have to wait for trips to South GA to do that sort of practice. CRC is only about 15 minutes away so the practicality made it a no brainer. But they do not allow draw from holster (paying for the sins of others!). Max distance for regular use is 300 yds. They have scheduled evens where they shut down the 200 / 300 ranges and go to 500yds. Its a "mature" facility, so its a great test and tune range. Anything less than 25 yds on pistol for defensive practice (no holster) has to be done at the plinking range. Doesn't offer everything I want currently but I'll keep it as folks are nice and convenient. Building is the way to go in the current housing environment. That's great! Sounds like you're well sorted and you have some pretty intense couple months ahead. But all good. Best of luck, and again welcome to TN.

The ISP provided hardware using the combined modem/router tend to be poor on the router side. Lower bands and poor signal strength compared to dedicated router with good antennae design. A modern quality router connected to that modem/router is pretty much the way to go if you want strong wifi throughout a home without dropouts and packet loss.

Welcome from the Chattanooga area. This part of the state does not offer the degree of outdoor options of the bigger cities outlying areas, but Chattanooga Rifle Club does have some more limited events. And Montlake has started to do IDPA or was going to. Those are your 2 main options to look at. CRC did have a 2 year waiting list, dont know about Montlake. Good luck with your move! book movers now if you are not doing it yourself. Summer rates are much higher and with the mass exodus' from blue states to the area, the rates are steeper to start.

new law introduced to protect property
Erich replied to Grayfox54's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Good on Mr. Reedy for standing up for law abiding citizens against a legal system that has been designed to give maximum rights and protections to these sorts of criminals in acting with complete impunity. -
One thing I'd suggest is you seriously consider getting one for yourself at the same time so you are proficient in one of the main parts of your husbandry duties. I have found that when my wife plays with any tech related item, no matter make or type, they all seem to have the same 24 hour immediate fix it line....1-800-mycell#.

If you have the room in your safe, these https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1017719369 Their tactical socks in black are tight. They use to have those in purple made with a slightly thicker material that was cut more generously with good give to house a scope with pistol grip. Less bulky than the above.
